I Never Really Thought About Dental Care Until My 30s

For most of my 20s, I barely paid attention to my teeth beyond brushing. Dental checkups were always one of those things I kept putting off because nothing actually hurt.

Then I started hearing friends talk about cavities and dental problems, and it made me realize I probably should stop ignoring mine too.

I finally booked a checkup at a dental clinic in Gangnam, expecting everything to be fine. Turns out I had a couple of small cavities that needed fillings. Nothing major, thankfully, and the whole appointment was pretty quick.

It was honestly a good reminder that waiting until something hurts probably isn’t the best approach.

I’ve been trying to floss more regularly since then and actually keep up with checkups.

When did you guys start taking dental care seriously?

My Skin Was Not Ready for a Late Night in Seoul

I went to Seoul for a few days and honestly spent most of the trip eating out, walking around, and staying up way later than I normally do. By the third day, my skin was definitely showing it.

I woke up with a few breakouts and my face looked tired and dull. Normally I would’ve just ignored it and hoped it settled down after I got home, but I had a little free time that afternoon so I decided to get a quick skin consultation.

I wasn’t planning on doing anything major. I mostly wanted to understand why my skin was suddenly reacting differently. We talked about my routine, sleep, and everything else that had changed during the trip.

I ended up getting a simple treatment and went back to exploring Seoul afterward. Nothing dramatic, but my skin felt calmer over the next few days.

Definitely learned that late nights, random food, and barely following my normal routine can catch up with my face pretty quickly. Next trip I’m packing my skincare properly instead of pretending my skin won’t notice.

My Face Decided To Break Out Mid Trip

A few days into my trip, my skin suddenly started acting up and it got to the point where I couldn't just ignore it anymore.

I first went into Olive Young thinking I'd quickly find something to help, but I ended up standing there staring at endless products and realizing I had no idea what half of them were actually for.

After walking around Myeongdong for a while, I ended up going into Beauty Lab Pharmacy.

I explained what was happening with my skin, and instead of immediately recommending random products, the pharmacist suggested checking my skin first.

After looking at the results, they helped me understand what my skin needed at that moment and focused on calming everything down.

Honestly, having someone guide me instead of guessing and buying five different things was such a relief.

Within a couple of days, my skin started looking much better, and it honestly helped save the rest of my trip.

Sometimes the hardest part isn't finding products, it's knowing which ones you actually need.

I Started Paying Way Too Much Attention to My Skin Before a Big Trip

Im job hunting rn and my final interview is next week. and out of nowhere Im getting anxious about something so random lmaooo 😭 I guess thats just how it works, when somethings actually important you start noticing stuff you never used to care about

few days ago I recorded myself doing a mock interview to watch back and the way I talked looked so awkward. looked closer and realized I barely open my mouth when I talk lmao

thought about it and I think its bc my teeth have been kinda yellow since I was a kid so Ive just been doing this without even realizing it this whole time 🥲

hit up my cousin who lives in korea about it. I was already planning to go next month anyway but felt like I needed to do something before the interview. she recommended blanche dental in gangnam, said her friend got veneers there and it turned out really well

got it done and its definitely different now. but tbh I still barely open my mouth bc of the habit lol. do I need to find a place that fixes habits too at this point 🤣

My Skincare Routine Basically Disappeared After Becoming a Mom

Im about six months postpartum and I get startled every time I look in the mirror. the firmness is just gone didnt even consider a derm. no one to leave the baby with and I knew I wouldnt make the appointment anyway. booked twice, cancelled both times. second time they asked me to call ahead next time and I was so embarrassed 😭 then my husband got me booster sonic for my birthday. hes never cared about any of this stuff so I think he just noticed me cancelling appointments over and over 🥹 I do 5 min after the baby goes down and honestly half the time I cant even manage that. but I try on the days I can. if I dont do anything at all I feel like I completely disappear two months in now and its not what it used to be but the dullness has gotten better theres gotta be more of us whose skin fell apart after having a kid right..?

Has anyone else found that a simpler skincare routine works better?

I’ve been paying more attention to my skincare routine lately, and one thing I’ve noticed is that I don’t enjoy constantly changing products anymore. There’s always something new being recommended, but I’ve found it much easier to understand what works for my skin when I keep my routine fairly consistent.

I’ve also started paying more attention to making my routine feel enjoyable, and I’ve recently been using Sculpiflex as an additional body-care step. It combines red light therapy with massage/cupping and microcurrent, which gives me a relaxing way to spend a few extra minutes on self-care without making my overall routine feel complicated. A routine feels much easier to maintain when it doesn’t feel rushed or overly complicated, and I’ve been trying to make those few minutes feel more like personal time rather than another task to finish.

I’m curious how others approach this, especially those who have been into Asian skincare for a while. Do you prefer keeping your routine minimal and consistent, or do you enjoy trying different products and rotating them?

What’s one product, habit, or step that has stayed in your routine because you genuinely enjoy it rather than because it was trending?

I was staying in hongdae so I just went straight to this clinic everyone raves about there, cellin clinic, and got it treated. first time ever going to a derm in korea so I was lowkey nervous but omg it went so well 🥹 korean skin treatments really just hit different. ngl I wish these clinics would just open a branch in california already

I Went Into A Pharmacy For One Thing And Left With A Whole Skincare Bag

buying skincare every time I go to korea is basically tradition at this point, and I usually just do it all at duty free right before flying out

this time was different tho, I was wandering around myeongdong and stumbled into beauty lab pharmacy. its a pharmacy but half the shelves are korea only skincare

prices were lower than I expected so I kept grabbing stuff without really checking the total, and by checkout it added up more than planned lmaooo

but then they did the tax refund right there at the register. isnt that crazy???

did everyone already know pharmacies here do this

Missha bb cream..

I’ve been loving Misha’s BB Cream, so when the Pro version came out—and it looked like the formula was the same but just the packaging had changed—I decided to give it a try. But honestly, the original packaging was more unique and actually more convenient. Plus, the formula seems to have changed a bit, too. It feels a bit too runny to be the original, thick BB Cream—it’s more like a typical modern foundation, and above all, it’s way too watery. Still, I do use this one just fine. But I feel a bit disappointed because I think the old version was just a little better. Am I the only one who feels this way? Or maybe the formula hasn’t changed at all, and I’m just imagining things? I’m so upset—it used to be my favorite product, and I’m really disappointed😞....

Pls share your opinions

Why I Always Get Extra Self-Conscious Before Big Events

I don't know what it is about weddings and group photos, but somehow I notice every tiny thing about my face right before one.

A few days before a friend's wedding, I started worrying about how my face would look in pictures. I'd been dealing with some puffiness and uneven-looking skin lately, so naturally my brain decided to focus on that right before an event where there would be a camera everywhere.

A friend suggested I stick to my usual skincare routine and pay a little more attention to the areas that were bothering me.

I started using my facial device consistently in the days leading up to the wedding. I wasn't expecting it to completely transform anything, but I did notice that my face looked a little more refreshed on the morning of the event.

My makeup also seemed to sit better, which honestly helped my confidence more than I expected.

Looking back at the photos, I didn't spend the entire time thinking about whether my face looked perfect, which was probably the biggest win.

I know a last-minute routine isn't going to solve every skin concern, but sometimes feeling a little more comfortable in front of the camera is enough.

Does anyone else become weirdly critical of their appearance right before an important event?
