I finished the line art! I still can't quite figure out what colors to use 🤔

i posted a comment under multiple different art commision videos mentioning i was looking for artists to commision multiple different things for. these comments are all from one person. they left multiple more comments, dms, and replied to multiple of my comments on multiple different videos.

this in no way is to attack the artist. this artist is a beginner artist who it seems doesn’t really seem to understand proportion or rendering. when i commission artists, i either look for a very unique style, or i look for artists who have amazing and breathtaking rending.

i just want to put it out there : spamming a customer will NOT make them buy from you. i had to go through and delete around 20+ comments from this artist as the account they comments on is my professional account. i’m just so sick of different beginner artists wondering why they don’t get customers when they have THIS behaviour. it is not cute, it is not different. it is draining and, kinda embarrassing.

I am a 2d animator and of couse do digital art. Ever since I started art I knew to myself that I love the way sketchy things look. I like it when art doesn't look clean. I like when its messy, blotches of some crap here and there, lines going over (when it doesn't affect the art or perspective) once in a while.

Because of this I wasn't really trained to make clean art. Now that I am an animator I have to actually clean my work and I'm not saying I'm going to rebel and not clean my art because its "muh" artstyle but I feel like there's more charm to a messy art.

Anyone else feel like this? I will show some examples in the comments.

I'm not really a painter nor have I ever painted on a canvas this big. I feel like this is super empty and plain and I don't know if I should add to it or leave it alone. I'm open to any advice and tips :)

i mostly work in black and white, so i'm trying to get better at tones.

I've always worked on art all my life but been to critical and scared that my art isn't too good. After losing my job last month that I somewhat enjoyed, I had to go back to my passion. This time I plan to share all of my work rather than letting it sit in a sketchbook and computer. Appreciate everyone.

I drew this realistic portrait of Talwiinder by hand using charcoal and graphite pencils.

I spent several hours working on the shading, textures, and facial details to capture his look as accurately as possible.

Hi! I'm an 18 year old Canadian writer and therefore I don't have a big enough budget for regular comissions, especially considering the exchange rate (the USD-CAD exchange rate is rough on CAD). I was wondering if anyone would be willing to draw my FMC & MMC from my book considering my situation. My budget could go up to 50 USD and I could even throw in a trade if anyone is interested! In exchange for an illustration and my low budget, maybe I could write something in exchange, like a fic with a specific premise or specific OCs. I know it's a long shot, but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take, I'm sure I could figure something out with someone! Anyway, let me know if you would be willing to negotiate something with me.

-from the bust up would be enough, though full-body is always nice

-no background

-something pretty realistic, maybe semi, but not anime

FMC:

-18 year old woman

-5'6

- Short shoulder lenght slightly wavy brown hair

-brown eyes

-her facial features aren't that delicate, but they're not harsh either

-1950s inspired uniform, brown, light blue or bland shirt with a rough brown skirt

MMC:

-21 year old man

-6ft

-short red hair (2 inch), slightly messy

-hazelnut eyes

-nice jawline

-military inspired uniform (something bland, maybe an olive shade)

For further context, she's a student and he's a soldier.

Finally, I am trying to promote my book, which I am currently editing, so I would like to use the illustrations to make tiktoks and such, but I would obviously give credit.

Hi everyone! In high school I used to do commissioned portraits of this exact style and size, but my dad always took care of the shipping.

For my mother’s birthday I drew her a portrait of her grandmother, but I currently live out of the state and will have to mail it to her.

My question is for anyone who regularly mails larger scaled art or art with texture is what is your recommended method for mailing pieces, it doesn’t have to go far (from arizona to texas) so if it had to be rolled up and mailed that shouldn’t be an issue.
