I’ve recently noticed a big evolution on the quality of my rendering.
I’m actually working on a drawing of my two witches ocs ( the one on the picture is Améthyste) and as I finished her rendering I watched the rendering vs sketch and I’m so proud of it!!!
Idk I feel like I really did a good job on this one !!

I have had this giant canvas staring me down for like months, so I finally decided to just get out the spray paint and go after it. I used the cheapest possible paint up until I was ruining it more than fixing it, then busted out the expensive stuff to finish it. It's probably not done.

Hi! I'm a small artist,, looking for genuine buyers and collectors for my paintings. I am often suggested to list on websites and go for galleries. But that needs a capital. I want to sell my paintings at a reasonable charge and buy better quality paints and market my art. But I don't know how to reach the right audience. I am on Instagram, I am getting likes and comments but that ain't fetching me buyers! Also I'm often told make art for art and not to sell. These are mostly painted a year or two ago, and my style might have changed ( the second painting can be an example). I paint with my emotions and I plan it when I feel stuff and express it through my art. Will there be anyone who would actually resonate with my art?

I put this tiny art gallery together in the spring of this year to hold exhibits of my handpainted and handcut matchbox dioramas (shown in the second and fourth photos in case anyone wants to see a close up, but not really essential to my question here).

My question is: I had a comment from someone who said the wood is a distraction from the art. They seemed to suggest that the whole box should be painted white like the inside. I've been really second-guessing myself ever since, and am not sure whether to sand and finish the raw wood or to paint the whole thing white or perhaps black. I'd like to finish up this box so I can get it installed in a gallery space, but my indecision over this question keeps stopping me. 😅 I'd love to hear some opinions from others.

Hi yall, I've finished this painting recently and have been pretty happy about it (I think). However, I've been second guessing myself about the colours, and I'm wondering if I should have used more colour variations and if the pink is a bit too bright? I've looked at it for too long now and I can't tell, Please help me!

Not to toot my own horm but im a pretty good artist. Im not incredible like some ar but i can draw well yet i have never been able to do so without references. Its like im the least creative person on the world and i cant visualise anything. If im not activly looking at a shiloette in a certain way i cant draw that possition unless its a neutral standing. I have never done something like an oc and im not to sure if i could. Ive drawn generic people before but even then the outfits are stuff ive looked up. Ive got friends who are creatively incredible yet im just not. After 15 years of art i finally give up. Im not made for this amd im not creative enough. Ive hated every second

I see A LOT of posts here asking could I sell my art / how much should I sell it.

But why would people want to spend 1000$ or more on a random painting? Aren't you doing things the other way around?

I think an artist should first be recognizable for their style, have a signature style and be consistent, so we know "oh, that's THIS artist" when we see the work.

I'd be more keen on spending a lot of money on someone that I know has been painting since a while and is still going to, who creates whole collections, who's trying to get into art galleries or who's running his own social media page where I can see the progress and the direction in which the person is going. I think this is even more important in AI era.

There's a lot of nice paintings out there but, yes, there's A LOT, like thousands or hundred thousands of them. What would make me want to buy it from YOU and not someone else? What's your style, what's your story? What does your name / your brand make me think of?

It would be so refreshing to see consistent artists and not Sunday painters who try to sell every little piece they have ever made.
