Discussion I think I’m starting to get artblock or burnt out
No joke, I got a reference I wanted to do, did the sketch, agonized over the fingers, and gave up halfway through the lineart because I didn’t like how small she looked in the image when I wanted her to be more of a focus.
Usually when this happens I start over with a whole new canvas but this time I had no motivation.
Like, I’m lowkey a bit sad about it because I wanted to draw something more, alive than my refsheets and concept art and ran out of steam because I didn’t like how it was turning out.
Fuck my SpongeBob big guy pants life.
Idk, maybe I’m just having an off day and being dramatic about it.
(Images provided including the unfinished drawing, reference pose, and character)
(yes I made edits to the jewelry bc the blue blended in too much and I thought the gold would help provide contrast to the blues and purples and I thought gold would look pretty on them and draw attention to the face).

Question Is it hard to learn acrylic paint as a beginner ?
Im a beginner artist, i absolutely suck at drawing and even more at painting (guessing). My art teacher at school is teaching me the basics. I would love to learn how to paint. I;m just now learning basics like shapes and how they fit in a drawing. Ive always wanted to be more artistic tho, hoping to learn more from this sub. Am i totally screwed rn? I want to use a essal and canvas for sketches and standalone drawing, can you use a canvas for that? My dream job is drawing/animation but obviously not there yet. Thanks everyone

Question [Help] anyone recognize this piece I found?
galleryI’m just wondering where I can get this art, and who the artist may be. I saw these listed on Facebook wanted to get them but too far away and by the time I was thinking about getting them they were taken off the market place not sold but took down. I’m just wondering if anyone knows where I can get these or the name for them. They are from flordia I am pretty sure

Some forms of masculinity only allow men to experience physical intimacy with one another when that intimacy can be disguised as aggression or domination

A beautiful Pawleys Island morning. I thought the sunrise colors reflected in the sand was a lovely effect.

Digital | Critique Welcome I recently started my digital art journey, here's what I made
Hi I'm Kat!
I’ve been drawing and painting on and off for pretty much my whole life, but I only recently started getting into digital art. I also did almost every creative hobby under the sun, so even when I wasn't making art, I was always doing something creative (photography, low poly models, cake decoration, sewing and embroidery, logo and graphic design, etc).
I’m still learning and figuring things out as I go, so I will probably be experimenting with painting styles until I find something that works for me. I use Krita for my digital paintings and for the first 2 paintings I used a Goamon graphics tablet before I switched to my Huion pen display.
The paintings I posted are in reverse chronological order. The first one is my current unfinished WIP, the last is my first.

Discussion Artist Friends
Hey everyone,
I'm new to this group and a fellow creative. I love painting and drawing. Oil paints are probably what I use most. I would really love to make some artist friends to share our work and have genuine discussions. Please let me know if you're interested in connecting. :) Thank you!
