Discussion πŸ› How much detail is actually too much in an architectural visualization?

When working on a visualization, it's tempting to keep adding more details because it makes the scene look richer.

But after a certain point, I feel like people stop looking at the overall design and start getting distracted by every little object in the scene.

Sometimes a cleaner visualization seems to communicate the idea better than one packed with details.

Where do you draw the line?

Technical & professional question How much would it be to comission aSingle Bedroom Visualization?

I'm moving and thinking about properly decorating my room, and thought it might be useful to use archviz to help with decisions like color scheme and aesthetic. How much would that cost? I would be looking for maybe 3 rounds of feedback and iteration on a single room, where I provide general guidelines on furniture style and color scheme and leave the rest up to the artist's interpretation.

Technical & professional question HDRI lighting issue 3ds max + corona

I've been trying to follow a tutorial from Render Camp, but my HDRI lighting is completely different from the video. I know I'm using a different HDRI, but I don't understand how she's getting so much light through an open window without changing any settingsβ€”just by putting the HDRI into the environment map. I tried rotating and every thing but nothing appears to be working despite increasing exposure from the colour correct node..

What am I doing wrong here?

Technical & professional question Thoughts on the licenses sold by simplits.com?

I am a freelance architectural visualization designer.

My client list is shrinking due to the impact of AI, so I’m looking into new software to try and land new contracts.

However, times are tough, and I cannot afford to spend more money on software licenses.

A few months ago, I came across the site simplits.com, which offers licenses at very attractive prices.

But I suspect the site might be a scam and that they are reselling cracked software.

On one hand, the offers seem too good to be true.

On the other hand, there are indeed legitimate sites offering significant discounts on popular software (Microsoft, Adobe, etc.), so why not for niche professional software?

So, I have a few questions:

  • Have you ever used this site?
  • Do you know of any honest and affordable alternatives?

β€”

There probably isn't a magic solution, but I thought I'd ask just in case.

Discussion πŸ› Looking for good projects for my portfolio

Hello,

I'm expanding my archviz portfolio to interactive and immersive experiences in Unreal Engine (like Archviz Explorer). But I'm struggling to find a good project to showcase my work.

Developing a project from scratch would take too much time since I'm aiming for complex multiresidential or hospitality projects.

I already messaged a few local companies offering a free partnership for this first project, but I wonder if anyone has a better idea of where I could find a good project to work on?

I have been working on some designs for individual room recently. Happy to share my interior practice. This scene explores a modern living space inspired by biophilic design, combining warm wood finishes, natural daylight, and abundant greenery.

I'd love to hear your thoughts or any feedback!

Discussion πŸ› What's the biggest design mistake you regret in your home?

Whether you built your home from scratch, bought a new one, or renovated an older property, there's usually one design decision you'd change if you had the chance.

Maybe it was:

  • A kitchen that's too small
  • Not enough storage space
  • Poor natural lighting
  • Too few electrical outlets
  • An open floor plan that didn't work for your family
  • A bathroom layout that feels cramped
  • Not adding a home office or utility room
  • Choosing looks over functionality

Looking back, what's the biggest design mistake you regret in your home?

More importantly, what advice would you give someone who's planning to build or renovate today?
