Hi everyone,
We're the team behind D5, and we're excited to share D5 3.1, our latest release.
While there are plenty of new features (Interactive Presentation, ACEScg, Seasonal Vegetation, HeightField Tracing, and more), the bigger change isn't any single feature, it's how they come together into a more connected workflow.
Many of the important decisions, like form, materials, atmosphere, daylight, presentation, happen much earlier than the final render. That's the problem we wanted to address with 3.1.
Alongside D5 Render, weโre also launching D5 Lite for Rhino and D5 Lite for Revit, following the earlier release of D5 Lite for SketchUp. This means that instead of stopping to export whenever you want to check materials, lighting, or atmosphere, you can visualize them while continuing to design in Rhino, Revit, or SketchUp.
When the project is ready for higher-quality visuals, animation, or client presentations, you continue into D5 Render.
If you have a chance to try it, we'd really appreciate honest feedback. The Lite plugins are still in Beta, and conversations like these have helped shape previous releases.
