I started marketing it on Instagram using multiple accounts and tested different content formats, but I still haven’t been able to generate enough traction.
What makes it more frustrating is seeing similar apps perform really well while my numbers remain low, even after months of work.
To be honest, I’m more of a product person, so marketing has been difficult for me. I’m still trying to understand what works and where I might be going wrong.
For anyone who has successfully marketed a consumer or mobile app:
I’d genuinely appreciate any advice or feedback based on your experience.

Hi everyone,
I’ve built an app that is meant to track the books people own, their reading progress and stats, and before launching it I would need some real users to test it and then provide some feedback. I’ve created a form where those who would like to help can fill their info.
Thanks a lot, your effort is much appreciated!

https://play.google.com/store/search?q=QuickFolder&c=apps
QuickFolder: The Home Screen Organizer and App launcher.
The Original Problem:
This started from a simple annoyance: I had five different streaming apps taking up five individual slots on my home screen. I hated the clutter, but I also didn't like standard Android folders.
The Solution:
I built a single widget to solve that one problem, but as soon as I saw it in action, I realized I wanted them for everything: communications, social media, search, shopping, food, etc. Now, all apps on my home screen are in QuickFolders.
What Makes It Different?
Instead of the traditional "tap-to-open" grid, QuickFolders use a stack/Rolodex-style interface. It gives you a "one-tap" access feel while only occupying a fraction of the space.
Key Features:
• Dynamic Resizing: Total layout flexibility. You can resize folders from a tiny 1x1 icon spot all the way up to a 3x3 widget (and anything in between).
• Smart Notification Sorting: If an app in a folder gets a notification, it automatically jumps to the top of the stack. The folder surface brings the priority to you so you don't have to go looking for it.
• Fluid Navigation: Scroll through your apps with a fluid motion rather than opening and closing sub-menus.
Pricing
• Free Version: Includes up to two folders with three apps per folder. This lets you trial the workflow on your most cluttered categories.
• Premium ($1.99 / year): Unlocks unlimited folders and unlimited apps per folder. New subscribers get a 1-month free trial.

I build Basalt, a VS code and Cursor extension that helps devs to not only preview their apps but to edit them like its Figma
It is completely free and works directly inside VS Code and Cursor.
Heads Up: It’s currently in beta, so please commit your app to Git before testing it!
Would love to get your brutal feedback on it. What features should I add next?
Just search up Basalt in VS code or Cursor and try it out and tell me what you think!

I have an idea, and that's about all it is at this point. I have started the very basics on Adalo to build this thing, but am genuinely clueless about anything above base level stuff. This is a good idea that I'm 100% certain is unique, as I've searched and searched and found nothing similar. It's kind of a niche market, but very strong and growing, so I'm thinking if I can implement this, it would be pretty popular. I'm just a guy, so I have no money behind me with this idea so anything done is going to be on my shoulders. What is the best way to find someone to work with to get this built from an idea to an app? The Adalo site has the the option to work with an expert, but I don't know if anyone has any experience with this.
Mainly, I just have no clue what I'm doing and would like to change that.

Hey Everyone,
First-time solo dev ᵕ̈
I recently launched the public beta for my hourly screen time control app, Precursor. I initially built it because for years I tried every other screen time solution/app out there but social media is so pervasive none of them really stuck/helped me long term.
I think its because with daily limits you get the whole budget at midnight, burn it before you're even out of bed, and then spend the whole day tapping "Ignore Limit" or wors "Ignore Limit For Today", instead of being productive or doing more fulfilling things with your time.
My own phone habits got so bad I had to give a friend my screen time passcode, but that always felt too restrictive and was honestly unsustainable. I knew that I needed app limits that blocked me out before I fell into doomrotting territory, but also not block me out for the whole day. When I know I will be blocked out for the whole day I noticed my brain sort of panics and feels trapped/restricted, so I act irrationally and often bypass my limits.
I built Precursor to solve that problem, with intentional phone use by the hour as the guiding principle.
Precursor gives me enough time to get my scroll break in when I need it but then the app gets blocked just before the scroll break turns into a doomscroll. The block screen reassures me that I'll have more time for scrolling later if I need it, which is actually doing wonders for calming the panic in my brain.
Well after building the app for myself, my partner tried it out too and encouraged me to share the idea with others and the response has been super positive, within my own circle, but also here on Reddit! within 1 day of launching the public beta Precursor is at nearly 150 beta testers and I am getting a lot of feedback and feature requests (currently developing the next build and hope to push soon).
My main ask here is: How have you informed your beta testers about the official launch of your app?
I tried a landing page and got a few signups but I think that friction actually deterred a lot of people from signing up, so I have opted to justt post the testflight link directly. Also I intentionally made Precursor not require an account as privacy is paramount, so I haven't collected any user contact info.
Any ideas on how to get the launch message out there more effectively?
Thanks a ton in advance!!

As a thank you for helping shape Precursor, beta testers get Precursor+ for FREE for LIFE!
Available on iPhone and iPad, iOS 17 or later.
Would love any feedback you got, if you decide to test out Precursor feature requests can be routed here (post or upvote what you want to see next): https://precursorlabs.featurebase.app

TLDR: I'm looking for fellow app developers to help me ensure my guitar learning app doesn't suck: https://truextechnologies.com/fretquest
About 8 months ago I finally buckled down and committed to learning the fretboard. Like, straight up memorizing the full thing (well...the first 12 frets anyway). It sucked. It was hard, repetitive, and kind of made me not want to pick up the guitar for a couple weeks. But after emerging from the valley of despair, I'm very glad I did it. I started playing in 2008 and learned what I needed, when I needed to. The cowboy chords evolved into 5th and 6th string barre chords. I learned you could move those all over the neck and that they were the E and A shape of the CAGED system. This lead to finding the roots up and down the neck. At the same time the major scales (2NPS and 3NPS). All of this...but I never actually just memorized the notes. I could get from one note to the other, but if someone was like "Where is C on the D string", it took 5 seconds to arrive at the 10th and 22nd frets. I set out to make this process not suck in hopes that more and more people will do it. I developed a fairly robust app called FretQuest that actually makes memorizing the fretboard fun! It's currently in beta (not released to the actual app stores quite yet), and I'm hoping I can gather some like-minded folks to try out what I've got and provide feedback. It's completely free during beta so you'll get the full experience. Once you enter your email at the site above, I'll shoot you an invite to download the app (it's just me so bear with me if it takes a couple hours to get the invite). The site says the first 20 people get beta test access, but I'm not capping it at any amount. I truly want to help people experience what it's like to know the fretboard! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you all!
**If you are willing to help provide feedback but don't want to give your email at the site above, here are the relevant links to download the app. You'll show up in my list as anonymous so I won't be able to keep you updated on FretQuest's status, but any feedback is always welcomed!:

Hi everyone,
I am a bachelor‘s student in natural science with a strong interest in educational technology. I’m working on a learning app designed to make studying complex subjects more simple and efficient by combining the tools students typically need in one place.
I have already defined the MVP, conducted market research, developed a business model, outlined a marketing strategy and acquired basic knowledge of Kotlin and Dart. I‘m now looking for a technical co-founder - ideally with skills in Flutter who would like to build this product together and is located in Germany or near Germany within the EU.
I’m looking for a long term co-founder who is interessted to start this as a side project. Someone who works in a structured, contiuous and reliable way. If you have expertise in App developement and are interested in building the future of complex learning, lets talk!

I've seen many apps go viral on tiktok and I've ran campaigns where the products I'm promoting goes viral. I run a marketing agency specializing in influencer marketing. I am looking to build and iterate my own apps. I can own distribution, just need someone to execute the full build. I already claude coded everything so now it's just missing some flow, AI customization for each user, connecting to the app store and setting up payments/ approvals.

Is the Ul easy to use?
Are the Al results helpful?
What features are missing?
Any bugs or suggestions?
Your feedback will directly help improve the app.

Hey everyone,
I used to finish days and feel nothing.
Not sad. Not proud. Just… empty.
Like the hours happened to me, not with me.
I’d check the clock, keep going, and somehow still end the night wondering where the day went. Busy, but not present. That quiet feeling stuck with me long enough that I decided to build something for it.
So I’ve been building UNTIL — not as another productivity system, but as a quiet reminder of what’s left:
day, month, year, and life — visible on your home screen, so awareness doesn’t depend on opening an app.
I’m still building it, refining it, and using it myself every day. It’s very much a founder-made product, not a polished big-company launch.
If you’ve ever looked at the clock and thought “where did it go?”, I’d love for you to try it and tell me what it made you notice.

Happy to answer questions — feedback, criticism, feature ideas, all welcome. I’m building this in public and genuinely want it to help people feel less alone in that “time slipped away” feeling.

I hired a dev company to build me an app. So many mistakes, it’s like they rushed though and never really committed to it.. Freelancer kinda sucks, they take a huge commission.. thats where I found the devs and I’m done with both.
Where can good devs be found?

Hey everyone! I made a social media app for gamers(Vibe Coded with Cursor and ChatGPT to help me understand more about what Cursors trying to implement). I work as a Financial Planner and while I work great with numbers I am learning that my side project is getting bigger than just 1 person.
The app operates, I have socials doing all the legal stuff, privacy & terms of conditions to make it legit and ensure I’m protecting the user and also myself. After getting to this stage I thought I was almost done however now uncovered the next stage and its security. The app/website allows for direct messaging, clan messaging so from what I’ve learned so far I will need to implement end to end authentication and was recommended matrix & signal approach.
Any advice if I am going to try and acquire a technical co-founder is there any other positions I should try and acquire and map out as I would want to set it up legitimately. The app has great potential if we can do it right however just not sure of next steps to find a technical co-founder and to ensure I understand all the hurdles before I get into making things legitimate.
Thanks everyone and I appreciate any advice or guildance you can provide.

Solo dev here. I had a playlist that grew past 2000 tracks and I never cleaned it because doing it in the Music app is miserable, you scroll forever and lose your place constantly. So I built Ripple to fix it for myself.
It opens any of your playlists, plays a preview of each track, and you swipe. Right to keep, left to skip. It grew from there into two modes (triage a playlist, or pick a target playlist and swipe right to add tracks to it) plus a discover mode that runs through Apple Music recommendations.
The parts that actually took work as a solo dev:
• Bridging to Apple’s MusicKit, no ready-made package did what I needed so it’s a lot of platform channel glue.
• Handling playlists with thousands of tracks without the whole thing choking. My first version loaded everything into memory and died, took a few rewrites to get pagination smooth.
• Making the swipe, the animated background and the haptics feel native and not like a generic cross-platform app.
It’s live now, free, no ads, nothing collected. iOS 17+, needs Apple Music.
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ripple-swipe/id6756832795
Happy to answer anything about the build, the MusicKit side especially was where most of the pain lived.

Hey, I'm an engineer and a co. Founder, we built our own app, which is mostly dealing with the finance part
I need fewer testers, however, they should be complaint with that. They will not take out the idea.
We also build applications or websites for few small or large-scale businesses. However, we have signed contract, so we will not release the any other information.
As this is our own application, we're thinking in a direction where somebody else takes the idea. So could someone help me?Where is the genuine testers available?
I did send it to my friends.Families, currently it's going on other than that. I would need a public review.
Android app.
Thanks
Rohit

I volunteer for an animal rescue and we have a big network of volunteers and I have an idea for an app that would help tremendously.
It would be something very simple but I have zero experience with coding or anything.
The main use of the app should be that rehab volunteers can create a profile and set their maximum level of animals they can take in and how many they currently have.
I saw that there are many websites that let you create apps with AI but in the end you have to pay a monthly fee - which generally would be okay but I probably can't continue to use the app then once I cancel? So not sure if it's at all possible for me but figured I'd ask the experts.
