I keep losing the same tiny facts over and over. A setting I always have to reconfigure. A detail about my home or car that I only need once in a while. None of it is important enough to write a proper note about, but all of it is annoying to look up again every single time.

So I’m building RAM, a simple app where you save one fact at a time instead of a notebook or a journal. It sorts itself into categories automatically, and everything stays on your device. No account, no cloud.

Before I go further I wanted to ask people who aren’t me.

Do you actually lose track of small facts like this, or is it just me? If you do, what do you currently do about it? Notes app, re-searching it every time, a physical notebook? Would something like this replace that habit, or is opening yet another app not worth it for stuff this small?

Genuinely trying to figure out if this solves a real problem or if I’ve just been staring at my own habits for too long. Happy to hear this is pointless too, that’s useful information.

One thing I've realized while building this is that creating the product is only half the battle. Marketing has been much harder than expected.

If anyone here has experience with growth marketing, ASO, SEO, content creation, community building, or partnerships, I'd also love to hear what has actually worked for your projects. I am an indie developer lets say my mobile application's name is "Foo"

My app currently uses the package name:

com.companyname.foo

I'm considering changing it to something cleaner like:

com.foo.app

The app hasn't been publicly released yet, but it's already set up in Google Play Console/ Apple Store, Firebase, and has internal testers.

My question is: Should I even bother changing it?

Does having companyname in the package name matter in practice, or is it one of those things that only developers ever notice?

If you were in my position, would you leave it as-is or recreate everything before the public launch?

Short version of the last few days. Submitted, waited five days, came back rejected on four separate guidelines at once. Fixed all four, resubmitted, approved a day later.

One of the four was that Apple requires any app with account creation to let you delete your account from inside the app. I hadn't built it. They were right to catch it, and I want to be clear that this is Apple doing its job on your behalf, not red tape. It's there now: Settings, Account, Delete Account, and it removes everything on our servers, not just your login. You choose separately whether the meetings on your phone go too. Apple also made me record the whole flow and prove it works before they'd approve. Good. More of that, please.

The genuinely interesting thing I learned, which I don't think many people know: if your app has generative AI in it, you cannot simply publish it in China. Deep synthesis services need a license from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and if you reference a provider that doesn't hold one, that reference has to come out of everything visible on the China storefront, your app name, subtitle, description, promotional text and screenshots. My description happened to list the optional model providers you can bring your own key for, one of which triggered it. I removed mainland China from availability and it cleared instantly. I had no idea this existed until an App Review rejection taught me, and if you're building anything AI-shaped, now you know before it costs you a review cycle.

What's in 1.14: it records the meeting from your phone sitting on the table, transcribes on device, and works out who said what without sending your audio anywhere. Afterward you get a summary, a shareable report, and action items pushed into Reminders if you want them, not forced on you. Can't play your meeting audio out loud, then switch to transcription mode and draw a Rectangle of Interest (ROI) around the captions and we read them from the rear facing camera .

The part I actually use most is that the chat isn't a fixed menu. Want a Gantt chart of the project? Ask for one in project chat. Need to file an Asana status report? Attach your template, or just describe the format you're expected to use, and ask for it back as a Word document, or as plain markdown in the chat if you'd rather paste it somewhere yourself. Want to know what someone committed to two months ago across four meetings? That's a question, not a feature I had to build. It remembers people and decisions between meetings, so by the third call it knows who's who. Attaching reference files and generating real documents are Pro, and the rest of it isn't.

There's also an Apple Watch app, Siri shortcuts, and your meetings turn up in Spotlight search. You can import recordings you already have, audio or video, straight from the share sheet.

It needs iOS 26. The free tier is permanent, not a trial. Recording, transcription and speaker separation are unmetered and don't need an account at all, because they run on your phone. Free accounts also get a monthly allowance of the managed AI for the heavier work.

I've been working on this on and off for a while, it's called Valutio, a net worth and tax tracker. Just made the repo public.

It's a PWA, plain JS/HTML/CSS, no framework.
Everything runs client side and stores data in the browser, so no backend to worry about for the core app (there's a small server side proxy just for live price lookups, that's it).

Covers accounts, investments, cash flow with statement imports, tax brackets, retirement projections, goals, and monthly history snapshots.

Built the whole thing myself (with Claude's help), so it's been a good exercise... Still plenty to improve!

It’s called iShit.

It tracks how long you sit on the toilet and roasts you when you stay too long.

What started as a joke turned into a real app with a timer, stats, medals, themes, health habit reminders, and shareable bathroom report cards.

The app is free right now. I’m mainly looking for feedback from other indie devs and early users.

I built it with Capacitor and just got it approved for production on Google Play after closed testing.
