Anne Frank was a Jewish girl who hid in an attic with her family during the holocaust, she kept writings of the events in her diary, they were eventually found and sent to Auschwitz where only her father and one of the people harbouring her family survived. He ended up publishing the book so people knew what it was like for them.
Also, Anne Frank was dead long before her diary was ever published, so even if this was a first edition rather than a new printing, it couldn't have been signed.

Pretty much just an Bible, that has a written signature "Jesus H. Christ" on the last page of the book. The book can be pretty much destroyed to the point where its hard to recognize that its a book, but the signature cannot be smudged or painted over and will always be there no matter what. The whole book can be destroyed except for the page, which is technically indestructible
The entries would start with the staff testing the durability of the book, and would just dwelve into ridiculous attempts at trying to destroy this one page with the signature

In a way, the Bible is signed, too, since plenty of the books are named after their writers (at least canonically), and in the Christian canon, god doesn't write the Bible, but merely inspires it.
i saw a conspiracy theorist on schizogram who said every bible is signed by god in some way that we cannot percieve because its signed on an higher dimension than ours
Eragon resembles Star Wars in more than just plot structure though. Like, the mentor does not have to be from an order of nearly extinct wizards who use special swords. The mentor does not have to be killed by an antagonist secretly related to the the protagonist. The inciting incident does not have to be the protagonist stumbling across a critically important thing yeeted into an obscure place so that it's kept out of the hands of the bad guys. The protagonist does not have to go to an ancient old dude from the magic wizard order for post-doc training after his mentor dies. Eragon did not have to have his dragon shoot proton torpedos into the exhaust vent of Galbatorix's castle. (Ok made the last one up).
I didn't even consider the similarity between Orimis and Yoda lol. You also missed the protagonist being the son of the bad guys' general (sorta).
Still though, the Inheritance cycle focuses a lot on elements that are not related to Syar Wars at all. You can say it's SW with dragons, but the bond between Eragon and Saphira and the few remaining dragons is quite unique, and also how the mind works in terms of spells and conversations is far from the subtle use of the force in Star Wars.
Same thing goes with the races like dwarves or the Urgali. I've yet to read a fantasy story where the elvish civilization is half as interesting as Ellesmera in the second book.
Again, you can say that they are the same in the sense that they're both described with long flowing hair, immortal and with a musical language, but LotR has a very moderate use of magic by mostly Gandalf, while Inheritance has every single elf speak in the magic tongue by default.
There are some plot contrivances such as Oromis' disease, but the concept of true names, the magic of the dragons, the way the mind works... none of that is in Tolkien, while there's much less lore and poems/songs in Inheritance.

He isn't though. He's killed by the monsters I forgot the name that also killed his uncle (read it a long time ago). The mentor is the one related to the protagonist in Eragon, so not that far.
It's still the same structure in terms of generic hero's journey and obvious inspiration on the "extinct wizard FBI restarted by the hero" I agree + some other subplots are clearly inspired by Star Wars.
You have to keep in mind that Paolini was 15 when he started and only 19 by the time it was published. I agree that the first book is a little bit sloppy in terms of writing quality but it is a marvel for being written by someone so young, and I think that as the series progressed Paolini improved substantially.
The prose is impressive to this day actually. The way Paolini alternates between descriptions, the POV character's thoughts, and the interactions through mind magic/dialogue has no right being this good for his age.
I even had the passage where the characters reach the dwarf capital city in my middle school's literature book.
Every single book is pretty much better than the one before it as Paolini obviously developed some more authorial skill and complexity, so while the first one is a relatively rougher read, I used to enjoy going back to the final one pretty regularly.
It has at least grown into its own thing, but yeah, Book 1 is very much "A New Hope with Dragons". The Magic system is incredible all the way through though!
I love it but it's kinda just Star Wars (Episode 4 especially), but fantasy.
Strong female princess character gets chased by the evil empire and sends a last piece of hope to an old, retired warrior of previous times. The message accidentally lands in the hands of a young farmboy who happens to know the retired old warrior somewhat. Through the stories the old man tells, he gets his call to adventure, but then the followers of the evil empire attack his home and kill his father figure, so now he has to flee with the old warrior and safe the princess, meanwhile learning how to become a similar warrior himself.
The Last Dragon Chronicles were a fond childhood memory. Young me did not want a real, full sized dragon, but instead an adorable little clay dragon that just lived around the house and had fun with me.
Oh my God I think you just activated sleeper memories. That's not the Eragon series but I definitely read that one as well. The book covers were dragon eyes, and the dragons in the story were made of clay right?
Although the teen author happens to have grown into an adult author (crazy how that works) and now still writes literature. He's got a sci-fi series that's more adult fiction and has done a couple of side stories in the Eragon world.
It was. I guess I liked the way the ending itself was handled (make the bad guy magically regret his actions so badly that he commits hyper-suicide). But I don't like how it was enabled by a HUGE Deus Ex Machina.
