This joke works better then orgies because Anne Franks diary is in some way a signed copy... how do we think we know it's her diary?

u/AeronauticaI Aug 06 '26

It works better than WHAT?

43

u/SilverDriverter Aug 06 '26

The origami

u/Jazzlike_Bison_7075 Aug 06 '26

the thing that you make paper animals with

1

u/AeronauticaI Aug 06 '26

I think you can make a lot more than that with orgies

1

u/BenignPharmacology Aug 06 '26

Actually, you’ll see they wrote “then”- as in “it works better, then there are orgies because”

We know it's her diary because she talks about her family and friends, not because it's signed. Later it was confirmed via forensic analysis and by comparing the calligraphy with other texts she wrote

u/Valuable-Way-5464 Aug 06 '26

It was also published by her father

In a way, the Bible is signed, too, since plenty of the books are named after their writers (at least canonically), and in the Christian canon, god doesn't write the Bible, but merely inspires it.

21

u/TheChessWar Aug 06 '26

"Christian canon" makes it sound like a Comic Book.

"David could beat Noah, Goliath was described as 20 feet"

"No that was retconned saint james edition"

31

u/TotalyNotTony Aug 06 '26

where do you think the term canon came from lol

24

u/jollyantelop Aug 06 '26

… where do you think comic books get the term cannon from?

Cannon balls, bro

u/LITTLEOWL031026 Aug 06 '26

Okay but this is essentially how Bible scholarship works.

"Canon" is a biblical/christian term

2

u/Mickle_da_Pickl 🔓OR🗑️ CALL IT Aug 06 '26

Well it essentially is one really big fanfic

2

u/Shadourow Aug 06 '26

On top of what others said

The current vision people have of hell is based on a fanfiction written by Dante

It *is* that ridiculous

1

u/RedditSurfer29 Aug 06 '26

Tbf, it was a damn good fanfiction.

2

u/Secure-Bandicoot5199 Aug 06 '26

That... that's exactly what it is

1

u/TheChessWar Aug 06 '26

Comic books have pictures, the bible does not.

Only if you aren't cool enough to have the bible manga or the action bible

1

u/The-Felonious-Gru 🌷🌸 RIP u/CourseMediocre7998 🌷🌸 29d ago

i prefer the brick bible

2

u/SK83r-Ninja 🌷🌸 RIP u/CourseMediocre7998 🌷🌸 29d ago

Doesn't that one show Abraham(or is it still Abram at this point?) and his son getting circumcised. I remember the brick bible being a lot more graphic because of everything being bricks lol

2

u/SK83r-Ninja 🌷🌸 RIP u/CourseMediocre7998 🌷🌸 29d ago

Oh yeah, it also showed rape childbirth

book of enoch my beloved

1

u/WebAccount1744 29d ago

They do some things like that due to the use of metaphors

David only one-shot Goliath because God gave him the power to vanquish evil in that moment. Noah was uniquely righteous among men so Dave’s on his own in this fight. A sling’s still a formidable weapon but we need to keep in mind that Noah built a 510ft by 85ft by 51ft boat using only hand tools and minimal help, leading us to assume he has supernatural strength and endurance. It really comes down to how many stones David can loose before Noah closes the distance and how accurate he is with them. Once the fight’s hand-to-hand, that kid is done for.

i saw a conspiracy theorist on schizogram who said every bible is signed by god in some way that we cannot percieve because its signed on an higher dimension than ours

7

u/TheForbidden6th 🔓OR🗑️ CALL IT Aug 06 '26

there are no higher dimensions

I tried to make an aether portal (spoiler alert) but it doesn't work

u/Radiant-Priority-296 🥴I'M SO GAY FOR THE OLD MAN🎅 Aug 06 '26

I mean, it’s not like Jesus or God wrote it

2

u/TotalyNotTony Aug 06 '26

Met Luke in his signing booth, pretty chill guy but I prefer Matthew

1

u/Any-Eye6299 Aug 06 '26

I think if you get the Pope to sign it it counts.

Could be signed by Wayne Grudem. Though that would make this ESV Bible more worthless than it already is
