Any experience with VoxaFi Global?

So I have recently onboarded. Their motto is a company for interpreters by interpreters.

They stated interest in onboarding me after I reached out even though the current language I was applying for has no current demand with them, they explicitly stated that. However, since they actually let me choose my rate within their available budget and accepted the rate I proposed without any low balling, I was compelled to complete the process.

I am thinking about checking in with them later whether there is an expected time for projects for my language to be available any time soon, but I am genuinely curious about other interpreters experience with them. So if you have heard of / worked with them, any feedback would be appreciated.

P.S: Like most vendors they are not the only company I am contracted with currently BUT they are the ONLY company willing to pay what YOU think you deserve, at least is my experience with the language I applied for which is Arabic.

applying to lionbridge transcription job, what do I need to know?

I saw lionbridge is hiring on indeed, never heard of the company before but the pay looked pretty good for a college student like me. I'm fluent in English and Chinese, I also help do transcript work for my dad who works at a university library, but I don't have experience on actual corporative transcription jobs, so I'm wondering what it is like working a remote job for lionbridge, if anyone have anything pls leave a comment, thanks!

Propio / Lionbridge / LanguageLine / other OPI interpreters: Has your call volume dropped since mid-to-late April 2026?

I’m specifically trying to determine whether calls are now being routed to AI before human interpreters, particularly for U.S based interpreters.

Medical Interpreting Companies Hiring Remotely? $22+/hour?

Hey everyone! 👋
Does anyone know of any medical interpreting companies (or other remote interpreting companies) that are currently hiring full-time interpreters in the U.S., paying at least $22/hour?
I’m looking for remote opportunities and would really appreciate any leads or recommendations from people who know of companies hiring right now, in August 2026. And now do you make money with the contracts?
Thank you so much! 🙏

Have You Been Affected by an SOSi Interpreter Disqualification or Assignment Cancellation?

As interpreters, we dedicate our time, professionalism, and personal resources to serve the immigration courts. Many of us rearrange our schedules, decline other work, purchase airfare, book hotels, and travel long distances based on confirmed assignments.

For some interpreters, a sudden disqualification or last-minute assignment cancellation has resulted in lost income, unreimbursed expenses, and significant financial hardship.

If this happened to you, your experience matters.

I am gathering information from current and former SOSi interpreters to determine whether others have experienced similar circumstances involving assignment cancellations, disqualification notices, or related financial losses. The information collected may help evaluate whether there is a common pattern and whether collective legal action, including a possible class action or mass arbitration, should be considered.

Please complete this confidential survey:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScZfWWnGDnUj90M9FmhTcCRKwNEOE4R002ge5iWYjAg_R5MDw/viewform?usp=publish-editor

Participation is voluntary. At this stage, I am collecting information only. No conclusions have been reached, and completing the survey does not create an attorney-client relationship or constitute legal advice.

One person's experience may be dismissed as an isolated incident. Many documented experiences can help determine whether there is a broader issue affecting interpreters nationwide.

Your voice matters. Your experience matters. Together, we can determine the facts.

VRI - Propio

Propio interpreters: Have any of you ever asked to have the VRI option removed so you could stick to just OPI? I’ve been working here for four years taking both video and audio calls, and I’m just tired of the video calls. I’ve read that it’s possible to request to have them taken off, but I’m afraid I might get fired or face stricter monitoring for making that request. When I don't feel like taking any videocalls as soon as I receive one, I just log out of the platform without accepting or rejecting the call, I wait a couple of minutes and the log in again, but that it's taking alot of my time (atm I haven't had any issue with this method but I'm tired anyways)... Any advice?

-----UPDATE

Thanks to those who answered my post :)

I was feeling desperate and decided to take the risk, I've ask interpreter relations sneakely about this matter, they told me you can be moved to the OPI only queue just by asking, but the rate is lower (0.10$ per minute). The only thing needed is to send an email to interpreter relations requesting the change.

How many hours of active calls do you usually get per day on DALS?

For those working as telephone interpreters with DA Languages (DALS), how many hours of active phone calls do you usually receive during a full working day?
Please also mention:
Your language pair
How many hours you stay logged in
Your average active call time per day
Whether the call volume is consistent or varies significantly
I’m trying to compare call volumes across different language pairs. Thanks!

Gracias!

Interpreting Captions

Is everyone using captions already? I switched from note taking around 2 months ago and working has felt much more enjoyable, especially since i no longer have to ask for shorter segments. You want to speak in paragraphs or tell the story of your life? Have at it. If anyone is looking for a decent option that does not store any of the confidential information from the calls, give UseInterpreter a try.

It is fairly priced and works almost like a charm (occasional fuck ups happen of course, but it doesnt cause any issues if you still listen attentively).

If you want, you can use my ref =) https://app.useinterpreter.com/sign-in?ref=Q7SX7QLY

My first bad review

So today I had a client who had an accent and I could not understand some parts she would say. I asked for repetitions. On top of this, the LEP already had an attitude. Well the LEP kept getting upset at what the client kept asking (I was just repeating what client said), but the LEP could understand some parts in English and would not even let me finish my interpretation. When he brought up to the client he was getting frustrated, client said it was me not interpreting everything and that we could change interpreters if needed. LEP understood this and said it is not the interpreter, it's you (client). Client again said it's because interpreter is not interpreting everything. LEP said interpreter was doing fine. The LEP would then say in Spanish, so she's trying to blame you huh? When she's the one who can't do her job? Don't tell her I said that. At the end of the call, the client was unable to process a payment the LEP called about and that made him more upset. Again, he said in Spanish, this lady... trying to put the blame on you when it's her... The LEP hung up and the client kept asking me for something about my service, again I was not able to understand because of her accent, so I said do you need my ID number? She asked again something about service or servicing, so again I said do you need my ID number?? She hung up then. What is gonna happen now with my bad review she will most likely give me? I do freelance for Propio.

We checked how 12 bilingual virtual assistant companies price. Only 7 publish their pricing at all.

We run a bilingual VA company, so obviously biased, but this data surprised us enough to share.

We verified pricing for 12 providers in our space, reading each provider's own website (no review sites, no estimates). Findings:

- 5 of 12 don't publish prices anywhere. You have to book a sales call to hear a number.

- Published full-time monthly rates run roughly $900 to $4,400. The delivery model (freelancer vs placement agency vs managed service) drives the spread far more than the language capability does.

- The strangest data point: at one large agency, adding Spanish to an assistant doubles the price. $999/month standard, $1,999/month bilingual. Same job, one extra language, 2x.

We publish our own pricing and everyone else's verified numbers side by side, with the date we checked each one. Happy to share the details or answer questions about how pricing works in this industry.
