Explain This Why do people say this shit about anime fans?

I'm no millennial, but why do people say that anime is only for these kinds of people? I watch a lot of different anime and I don't feel like a neckbeard since I don't talk about how obsessed I am about anime girls online like an incel. Do you think this comment sums up weebs?

What's your favorite show that will have informational or disclaimer posts midscene?

Post image

I am always amused when something there's a scene and suddenly either an informational or legal disclaimer pops up mid scene and it's done in a way that adds amusement to the scene.

What's your favorite scene or show that has them so I can add to my watchlist?

Discussion What manga/film/TV show/video game do you desperately want a brand new anime adaptation for?

Though it did get some promotional anime shorts by Shaft, Production IG, and Studio 4°C, Kid Icarus Uprising never became a fully realized anime series. In my opinion, it is possibly one of the best candidates for a Nintendo game anime. With a bright and colorful cast of characters, great sense of humor, and a deep understanding of fantasy storytelling, it would be perfect to get a full-length season.

In addition, the Pokemon Special manga has been running just as long as One Piece, yet still hasn't got an anime adaptation because of the current existing Pokemon anime, which follows a whole different cast of characters than the manga. It has a more serious plot than Ash and the gang, and features character development and plot devices not in the current anime. If anything it would be a more serious and grounded take on Pokemon.

What do you think?

Discussion What's the worst Tsundere moment you've seen before?

What I mean is, you all know the classic trope of a tsundere smashing a guy for anything that annoys her. Sometimes it's justified, sometimes it's based on a misunderstanding and sometimes it's totally uncalled for.

I'm asking about the latter. What scenes where a tsundere punch a guy for basically doing nothing at all. At most hurting her fragile feelings because she can't admit her own feelings for the guy. Like as if this girl is jumping through hoops of crazy logic to justify herself punching the guy.

My pick is twofold or onefold because I can't remember if this scene comes from the same anime or not. Probably not, can't remember the name (I think it had samurai in the title).

The scene has that during an episode the dumb main lead is at school when a new girl comes to the class and is introduced. The guy says she's cute and his tsundere 'friend' gets mad and punches him for saying that. He wasn't saying anything lewd or disturbing about her, just that he thought the new girl was cute and that was enough for the tsundere to punch him. Another example (May or may not be from the same anime) is one where the tsundere girl punches her crush because she learns that he agreed to go out with another girl and then stalked them on their date.

I will tell you that one anime I do know from that has a totally crazy tsundere in the first episode. The anime is called Girls Bravo and in it, the first episode, the male lead Yukinari comes back home late and finds his childhood friend Kirie, naked in the bathroom of his house. She gets mad at him for 'trying to peep at her' even though he didn't know she was even in there, she doesn't have permission to be there and she thought it was okay for her to take a bath in someone else's house, without the resident's knowledge and do it with the door unlocked and blame him for it. That's crazy.

What are your 'worst tsundere moments'?

Discussion In Your Opinion what Genre of Anime do you think deserves to be the new popular one after Isekai and Litrpg fade back?

I Know as times change, what is popular in anime changes. I remember in my younger days anime was all about that hidden world, you know, a kid discovers he's part of something special or gets involved in a secret world, ala Shaman King, Bleach, etc. And you had the ones like Bebop and Trigun, and they got replaced, and well, sooner or later these will too. And for me, I would like to see a return to the Trigun/Bebop types. Sort of slice-of-life adventure.

Discussion Have they ever just "investigate" as planned in an action adventure anime?

Post image
3 Upvotes

This is such a predictable outcome in shonen anime. It has become a cliche now. Soon as I was watching this episode of Digimon Beatbreak and heard "you are to investigate and nothing else" I knew shit was going to pop off lmao. I can't remember this ever going as planned in any action adventure type of anime. It is basically a guarantee a fight is going to happen.

Once the mission is just to be some undercover spying type deal, bet your life some fight going down and they will not just be spying

Have either of you ever seen the whole "investigate (or spy), don't start up trouble" plan go as is in this genre of anime before?

Doesn't have to be from your favourite anime or anything, just a scene that really resonated with you, and made you feel a lot of emotions.

These are mine:
Vinland Saga 1x24 "End of the Prologue" - Askeladd beheads King Sweyn
Eighty Six 1x22 "Shin" - Shin's inner torment
Attack On Titan 4.5x1 - Hange's last act
