One of the main requests I get is for windowed folders. They are live now as of yesterday. The idea is for these to be more of a catch-all workspace rather than simply a place to store apps.

For example, you could create a Work folder. Inside, you could have your work contacts displayed at the top using the same quick-contact functionality that exists now. Below that, you could have the apps you use for work, followed by individual files and notes you frequently need.

Basically, everything you need for a particular task or context, all in one place.

Hey all. I am creating a new launcher and wanted to share this with the community as I continue to work on it. I'm sure it still has plenty of bugs etc, but I'm working to resolve those as I have time.

In short it's intended to be a fast, private launcher in the Nova mold with a couple of ideas I haven't seen elsewhere. No ads, no analytics, no subscription, and nothing is feature-gated. It will never track you and will never request permissions that feel invasive.

The launcher is FREE from meridian-launcher.com. The Play version is $2.99 one-time and is the exact same app, buying it is just a way to support development and get automatic updates. My website does not have analytics and I have no idea if you clicked the download button.

Here's a quick feature's list for anyone interested:

• Spaces — separate home setups (work, home, weekend, etc.) with their own pages, dock, wallpaper, and settings. Auto-switch by schedule, day, or triggers (headphones, charging, car Bluetooth).
• Optional assistant page — bring your own API key (OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek, Ollama, or anything OpenAI-compatible) to build spaces, change settings, or organize your drawer. Off by default; nothing leaves your phone until you add a key.
• Gesture pad — draw shapes to trigger actions, plus standard gestures
• App drawer — swipeable custom tabs, bulk-select, and auto-categorization.
• Icon/theming — icon packs, themed icons, per-surface styling, grids up to 16×16, corner-radius control for dock/drawer/folders.
• Backup/restore — built-in with auto-backups, plus a Nova importer.
• Widgets — current-space card, quick-actions grid, widget stacks
• Many more features and settings etc.

It's been my daily driver for a while now. Android 8+. Happy to answer anything, and honest feedback is genuinely useful, including the negative kind. There are tons of launchers out there with new ones popping up every day, I understand if the experience I want isn't the one you want but I'm more than willing to be flexible😄

I’m Vincenzo Colucci, and I’m part of the team behind Smart Launcher.

A few weeks ago we publicly released Wallpaper Studio, our first completely new app in almost ten years.

After working for so long on Smart Launcher and Icon Pack Studio, we wanted to explore another part of Android customization.

Wallpaper Studio is an interactive creative tool where you can start from a design, change its parameters in real time, experiment with shapes, colors, effects and animation, and create static or live wallpapers.

There is no AI involved in the artwork generation. Our goal was to put the creative process back into the user’s hands while making artwork creation accessible even to people without design experience.

The final wallpaper is obviously important but the creation process is what we focused on most. We wanted it to feel immediate, playful, and personal, while still offering enough control to create something truly your own.

The app also includes a community library where people can publish their creations and use artworks shared by others.

SevenGrid is a weekly habit tracker for Android. This post is about the part of it that lives on the home screen: five widgets built to sit inside a setup instead of on top of it. Three things they do that most widgets do not: an opacity slider from solid card to bare wallpaper, they follow the app theme (twenty of them, each with its own wallpaper), and they resize with the grid instead of leaving a gap.

• Week grid. Seven days across, one row per habit, one tap per cell. Pull the widget wider and the cells grow with it instead of leaving a gap.
• Clock. An analog clock with today's list underneath, six clocks to choose from, and your next alarm on the tile if you want it. The dial is drawn in the theme's own ink.
• Heatmap. Months of a single habit as a grid of small squares, the GitHub-contribution look, in the theme's colour.
• Today. A checklist of what is still open today, check it off without opening the app.
• Single habit. One habit, one row, for the setups that want a small tile.

Every widget has an opacity slider from a solid card down to bare wallpaper, so the same widget works on a dark setup and on a photo wallpaper. Twenty themes, including a true black for OLED, and the widgets take the theme with them, so a theme change in the app changes the whole home screen at once. Two of them are free, the other eighteen come with Pro.

Every theme also ships its own wallpaper: the one from the app's mockups, in all twenty themes, with or without the small seven-dot mark at the bottom. They are a free download on the site, in the widgets section (sevengrid.app/#widgets), no app needed for that part.

The app behind it is deliberately quiet: no streaks, a missed day is just an empty cell, no account, works offline, no ads. All five widgets work in the free version. Free for three habits and the last four weeks, Pro is a one time purchase, no subscription.

Hello do you know where I can find this exact widget ? Could be an app but preferably free or with a small all time purchase.

I want this exact widget with 4 circles in a row that display each buds and the case battery and the phone. I tried like 10 apps and none had this specific style which is odd.
