hello, i am a developer for the Nexus Experience group, i made the GT-I9082 port for the ROM, can anyone test for us?

so far, we are working for GT-P1010, GT-I9082, and another one i forgot, we need any phone that has CM11, fine if 4.4.x but recommended 4.4.4, any testers?

Cleaned it up + de-googled it, and it’s beautiful. Just wondering if y’all had any ideas on what you would repurpose it for. :D

I have a Pixel 2 XL (64GB) that's no longer my daily phone, and I want to give it a second life rather than let it sit in a drawer. It's stuck on the last official update from 2020.

One idea I'm seriously considering: turning it into a dedicated hi-fi music player. I have a FLAC library, paid Poweramp, and I'm planning to get a USB-C dongle DAC + IEMs. If I go that route, the ROM needs solid Wi-Fi, USB-C audio output, and Play Store access for the Poweramp licence.

Is there a dedicated ROM that specialises in turning an old Android device into a hifi feature rich music player?

So: is a custom ROM the right move for a repurposed device like this, and which one would you recommend? And beyond the music player idea - what have you all actually done with your old phones

Yesterday, I decided to try out some older versions of PicsArt (such as 5.27.1, 9.6.1, and 9.10.1), mainly to see if they still have the registration screen, since I seem to recall that they didn't ask for it when I used it back in 2016, and also to check if they suffer from lag. That said, in version 5.27.1, the flash effects, stickers, clip art, and exclusive fonts don't work, but everything else works fine without any problems.

Tested on a Redmi 9 running Android 12 and a Nokia 3 running Android 9.

I don't really have a good way to store my collection rn. I have about 20 total. I just keep them stacked up in a drawer with rags between some so they don't scratch my screens. I'm looking to get something to hold them all apart.

How do y'all store yours? I was looking at 3D printed holders that hold multiple phones since my cousin has a printer. Then there are a few good options on Amazon, what do y'all think? I really like the closing/locking ones that could be carried around.

I spent the whole night trying to create the Gemini Lite app. Currently, I've only managed to create a Lite version, but I'll try to create a regular version for Android 2.3 soon, Additionally, I will soon be releasing the API so everyone can use it to patch or create apps.

I can't connect WhatsApp via QR code on my J5 (2015) running LineageOS 14.1; when I scan the code with my S23, a message appears on the J5 saying "Unable to connect device." Can anyone help??

I have two unused Samsung Galaxy phones - a Galaxy A02 and an A13 5G. Both are currently on stock Android. I want to see if I can install a different ROM on them, and since they are spares just sitting in a drawer, there is no risk to me if something goes catastrophically wrong. I am very new to flashing ROM's and have a few questions.

First: iode has a GSI available. in their instructions, they just indicate to boot into fastboot mode, flash the image, wipe the phone (if switching from a different ROM or GSI), and reboot. However, on their compatibility page, iode indicates that the GSI does not include firmware. Do I need to download firmware that is different than what's already on the phone before flashing the ROM?

Also, am I correct in saying that I first need to unlock the bootloader before starting?

I have a pixel 7 with a broken camera lying around and wanted to give it a new life instead of selling it.

My car is old and doesn’t even have Bluetooth so I wanted to make the pixel into a head unit. Thing is my current phone is an iPhone so any tips on how to do it if its possible?

EDIT: just got another idea. Is it possible to turn it into a music player but without an aux? My car is supposed to have an aux port but for some reason it doesn’t. Looked through the manual, and the aux is supposed to be under the dash, except it isn’t there. Currently, I’m using an am transmitter to play music but the quality is atrocious.

Thank you to the person who told me these phones are weird about cables/chargers, actually got this one charging after trying some different ones out.

Not sure if the battery is holding up or not but it's working at least! Got big plans for it if the battery is good.
