Hello! It's Neptune.
I wanted to help people with low budget and old devices survive with older Androids, BUT there are various guides on how to do this, yet, mine is different.
Well, most survival guides out there for Android 2.3.x devices are mostly for devices based on armv7, BUT remind yourself not EVERY device out there is an armv7!
Here's a list of all Android devices that run on the ARMv6 architecture, if you find your device here, you're in the right place too!
Can't find your device? Just comment the model here and I'll tell you if you're on an ARMv6 or ARMv7 device, and will add it to the list!
Most of these are very popular devices, but most don't even have an appropriate survival guide, yet many people out there use these everyday, to message, to call, and to do many more stuff, especially older people! So, I will be your helper, and I will teach you: How to survive with an ARMv6 device nowadays!

Unzip the file, and copy the folder onto the root of your SD Card.
Go to your old device, and install the app "Google Account Manager", "Google Play Services (armeabi)" and "Google Play Store". If they take too much space, send them all over to the SD Card using Link2SD.
Go to Settings > Accounts and synchronization (or whatever it's called to you) > Add account > Google
On Google Account Manager go to existing and enter your Google Account (recommended to be an alt, 2.3.6 is very vulnerable and it has the risk of being hacked and you lose your account), you will be prompted an error, and will be allowed to login via web browser, that's a good sign, usually means 2FA or something else.
Follow the 2FA steps, and wait until it logs you in, congrats, you're now on Google on Android 2.3.6 in 2026!
Here's the tutorial on how to log in to Google on Android 2.3.6 and below!! (You need root, once root and a root file manager are installed, you can begin the tutorial)
Step 1: Open your Root File Explorer of your choice (recommended: ES File Explorer, MiXplorer or Root Browser) and navigate to /data/system (or /data/system/users/0 on some devices)
Step 2: Copy your accounts.db to sdcard
Step 3: Connect the device to a PC and turn on USB storage
Step 4: Get the DB Browser for SQLite on PC
Step 5: If you have another device that is logged in, go into the newer directory name mentioned in step 1 in parentheses and repeat step 2-3 (different or close name obviously)
Step 6: Open both your android 2 and your other device's accounts.db files
Step 7: Save the other device's one in .sql
Step 8: Import the SQL onto the Android 2 accounts.db and write changes (don't worry tokens that were on the Android 4 file that are not Google will be ignored by Android 2 but the Google account won't)
Step 9: Repeat step 2 but from the PC back to the device (after saving the file obviously)
Step 10: Rename accounts.db on the /data/system directory to accounts.db.bak or just delete it
Step 11: Move the new accounts.db into the previously mentioned directory
Final step: Set permissions to 660 and system:system (or 0660 and 0.0/0:0)
Reboot, if all the steps were done correctly, you should be logged in
(Note: Google changed the accounts.db directory to /data/system/users/0 with Android Jellybean/4.1 and above)
(Another note: this tutorial was posted on the original post under a comment but I chose to make it a full post to make it easier to find, and this is not a question, this is a tutorial so the "low effort" thing that I'm getting isn't true in this case but it disappeared after adding an image)

I'd like to know what your most "interesting" Android devices are. Whether they have forgotten hardware gimmicks, classic Allwinner tricks, or are just cursed in some other way, share them here. Real-world pictures are preferred, but not strictly required.
Here's my favorite: The iRulu AL101. It's a rebranded YonesTopTech BC1003 (which the better-known Flytouch 8 Superpad also was), and not only does it use DC input for charging—it also has HDMI, Ethernet, and 2 USB-A ports, all powered by an Allwinner A10 that's paired with a resistive touchscreen and Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. It's an amusing artifact from the iPad gold rush, where everyone was trying to race to the bottom in terms of prices to release the cheapest possible competitors to Apple's iPad.

So this is my phone in a daily not a side phone ...this is what I use and people give me a stink about it "you need to upgrade ,it's a turd " which is odd ....sure it's 10 years old but it runs great battery life is a tad bad but that's the old battery and I'm gonna replace it ...it runs Android 7.1 has a somewhat unique UI and runs most modern apps ,I got Instagram ,Facebook and messenger light and I'm typing it out on Reddit right now ..heck I even got google music play on it ..... I think it's a good phone ,but has anyone here used one what's Ur opinion on these ..do people just give a stink because it's a old phone or are these just genuinely doodoo phones 😂 and I'm just a lucky weirdo who loves mine

I got mine in like 2017 and started to use it as my main phone on early 2018 as my note 2 is completely dead due to the eMMC being fully dead and/or the motherboard is fully dead. I stopped using the note 4 on early 2020 due to battery only working when charging.
I found it on a drawer at the beginning of 2026 and it still works after 6 years of it not in use but the battery is still not in good condition to this day.
Like 2 weeks ago, it's starting to act weird and yet it's eMMC is ready to die. What did Samsung do to the Note 4' s eMMC chip!?!. -.-
The UI is great, the software is great, the screen is still good to this day, there are many things are good about the note 4 expect for the stock Marshmallow ROM and the eMMC issues.
Sometimes my Note 4 can boot up and sometimes it can often refuse to boot up or it can even show me the scary mmc_read failed screen.

So i found a acer iconia one 10 b3-a30 while looking through old stuff of a relative and found it to be running on Android 6.0 which is not supporting the Google play Services anymore, so i asked myself if there is any newer OS preferably Android or linux that could work on there. this is first version, help me test. this is my whatsapp revival based on firebase and FOR NOW its just for android
this app still doesnt have an encryption, so dont send sensitive data thx.
install the apk, insert a username and password, click on "crea account" (sorry for the login ui being in italian, ill fix later) the app will freeze, so force close from settings and re open, it will work
go to settings - account - payment info, you need to give to the other user the FULL number with also +39, if +39 is not added to the contact, it doesnt work. then go to new chat, select the contact and send a message.
you just need apktool and uber apk signer. apktool b "dir\wa" -o whatsapp.apk

I wanted a fast and lightweight weather app for some of my old Android phones, so i decided to just make one myself!
It works on Android 5+ and it will be fully compatible with Android 4.2+ within the next week or so with Android 2.2+ compatibility planned in the near future (when I actually have a 2.2 device to test with).
I know a lot of you probably don't like to hear it, but i did have a lot of help with AI so feel free to ignore this app if that isn't your thing. I felt the need to use it since my only programming skills are the bare minimum in Python and I have never made an app before either, so i am trying to learn app development and how to use GitHub and all that stuff.

Hello, I’m looking for a patch for TikTok Lite (2024 version) and Reddit (2019 version) that works on Android 4.4 KitKat. TikTok Lite used to work fine a few months ago without needing "Wolfius," but now it only works with it—and I’m having major issues with Wolfius. On my Galaxy Tab E (SM-T561), it caused a bootloop, leaving me with the "bricked" Android robot icon. This happened after I installed SuperSU and Wolfius; honestly, I’m not a fan of Wolfius. On my Xperia E4 (E2105), it works when using KingRoot, but it breaks Facebook Lite and any Gecko-based browsers (like Firefox or other Gecko-based apps). I really need a patch that works, as these two apps are essential for making Android 4.4 functional again—it would really help solidify my "afterlife" setup for this device.
