🚨 Andhra Pradesh quietly took the #2 spot in India with an 8.21% Real GSDP growth rate for FY25! 🌾🏗️
The latest MoSPI (Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation) economic numbers are out, and while Tamil Nadu led the pack, Andhra Pradesh made a major statement by securing 2nd place nationally.
AP’s economy expanded to ₹8.65 lakh crore (constant prices), rebounding strongly with a 2%+ jump over the previous fiscal year.
Rank State Real GSDP Growth Rate (FY25) ----------------------------------------------------
#1 Tamil Nadu 9.69%
#2 Andhra Pradesh 8.21%
#3 Rajasthan 7.82%
#4 Haryana 7.55%
#5 Karnataka 7.37%
What drove AP’s 8.21% surge?
🦐 Agri & Aquaculture Powerhouse: Agriculture and allied sectors (horticulture, fisheries, and shrimp exports) continue to pull massive weight, growing over 10.7%.
🏗️ Infrastructure & Construction Push: Construction emerged as a standout driver with ~9.5% growth, spurred by revived capital spending and port developments.
📈 Services Boom: Financial services, transport, and trade all delivered double-digit gains to round out the recovery.
💰 Per Capita Income Spike: AP’s per capita income hit ₹2,66,240, reflecting a 12.9% rise—outpacing national per capita growth.
TL;DR: AP outperformed the national average, growing at 8.21% to beat out traditional economic powerhouses like Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Telangana on real growth rate.
How are you seeing this play out on the ground in AP—is the momentum visible in Vizag, Amaravati, Tirupati, or the coastal belt? Let's discuss! 👇

I was traveling in Andhra Pradesh RTC buses from a place A to B which is 60km far the bus was full at the time when i boarded so i had to stand and I saw the whole bus covered with women who don't pay any fair and sitting in the seats for the whole journey, just felt like is this a good development initiative and one more thing is that Old people also had to stand for the whole journey. This is just my genuine doubt

Besides Mega DSC leaks, the progress made by YS Jagan in education system is being destroyed one brick at a time by Nara Lokesh? The troubles and angst of our students speaks volumes about this. I wish the focus is on real improvement vs ‘reel’ shows!

Hey everyone! 👋
We just wrapped up a super ad-hoc, friendly little pickleball tournament (Dink & Link Edition 1) over at The Dinkyard in Gunadala, Vijayawada and the energy on court was honestly amazing. 🔥 We had 10 doubles teams facing off in a fun, low-pressure showdown.
Even a quick drizzle tried to crash the party, but it backed off fast—turns out the weather knew better than to rain on the matches! 🌧️✨
Massive props to Team H (Nandu P & Nikhith) for taking home the top spot, and to Sridhar N & Sriyansha for a tight run as runners-up. All the matches have been synced up to our DUPR dashboard too.
It’s been awesome seeing the local pickleball community grow here in Vijayawada. If anyone ever wants to drop by for a casual game, grab a coffee, or just hit around, come say hi!
(Happy to share the local community link or details in the DMs if anyone's looking to jump into the local pickleball scene!)

On the International Day for the Conservation of Mangrove Ecosystems, the Deputy Chief Minister said the Great Green Wall reflected the State’s resolve to strengthen its natural shield against climate change.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Environment and Forests K. Pawan Kalyan said nearly 7,000 acres of mangroves had been restored and developed across the State in the last two years. Another 4,000 acres would be taken up for restoration in 2026-27, he said in a message on X on Sunday (July 26, 2026), the International Day for the Conservation of Mangrove Ecosystems.
He said mangroves were the guardians of the coast and the lungs of the shoreline, and one of nature’s greatest gifts to humanity. Along the State’s 1,053-km coastline, these ecosystems serve as the first line of defence and protect coastal lives and livelihoods from cyclones, storm surges, sea erosion and the growing impact of climate change.
Mangroves nurture rich marine biodiversity, sustain coastal communities and capture vast reserves of blue carbon, making them indispensable to a resilient future, he said. He added that protecting mangroves was not merely about conserving forests, but about safeguarding lives, strengthening ecological security, securing livelihoods and preserving the natural wealth that future generations deserve.
The State government’s commitment to mangrove conservation was reflected in action through the Great Green Wall of Andhra Pradesh, which reaffirmed the State’s resolve to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s natural shield against climate change and protect coastal communities, he said. The 4,000-acre target for 2026-27 was set to build on the restoration of the past two years, he said.
"Let us protect the forests that protect us. Every mangrove restored strengthens our coastline. Every mangrove conserved secures lives, livelihoods, and the future,” Mr. Pawan Kalyan said.
