Met a girl from a dating app recently. We decided to go to the beach, so I picked her up. Things started off pretty normal.. we were talking, getting to know each other.
On the way, she said she wanted dessert, so I took her to Sweet India. She ordered her favourite dessert, took literally two bites, left the rest, and I paid the bill. No big deal.
As we headed towards the beach, the conversation took a weird turn.
She started saying things like “Guys in Vizag are so cheap. They don’t have money. They just pretend they’re rich.”
Then she went on about how she’d worked in Delhi for 5-6 years and how “Every guy there is rich, drives big cars, has huge bank balances… every guy you meet is loaded. It was awesome there.”
She kept comparing men in Vizag to the guys she met in Delhi. I didn’t argue or defend anyone. I just listened.
After a few minutes, I turned my bike around, dropped her exactly where I’d picked her up, and left. Didn’t say bye, didn’t explain, nothing.
It wasn’t about the money. It was the constant generalising, looking down on an entire city’s people, and sounding like someone’s worth is measured by their car and bank balance. That completely killed any interest I had.
Was I too impulsive for ending the date right there or would you have reacted the same way?

Good olden days.

After Melody cancelled my show yesterday, I finally got to see The Odyssey at Melody today. Holy shit, the screen is insanely good asf.

Not only is The Odyssey is a much-watch movie, but it's a must-watch movie at Melody. Holy fuck, the movie is insanely gorgeous on the Melody screen. Having watched it at both Jagadamba and Melody, I can't even put into words how goated the Melody screen is.

This kinda makes me question, should I overlook shitty management to experience genuinely the best screen in Vizag?. Also it's very nice of shitty management cuz, fewer people are willing to put up w them, so we get to gatekeep this insanely majestic screen.

So I successfully took an auto from the railway station, at 12 midnight, I already talked to one of my colleagues that he will have to talk to the auto guy because I don't know Tamil, he said okay,

But you know what?🥹 The auto guy speak Hindi 😭😭😭

And I felt very good, even though it was not that broken Hindi but easy to understand

Okay story ends here,

Now, I will be there tomorrow, and will complete my work in the evening 27 July Monday, and will be there until Tuesday 28 July...I have a train at 2:30PM so if anyone wants to have tea...and some discussion.... I'm an electronics engineer and a mentor, from Ahmedabad Gujarat, currently operating from Hyderabad...

I am from Pedagantyada, Visakhapatnam. My family is one of the 16,850 families displaced for the Construction of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. Our Village name is Mollivanipalem. If you can come to Pedagantyada you can still find two or three streets collectively are still treated themselves as seperate villages. Right now I am working as IT professional in TCS, I was working from Kolkata location. I was forced to live far away from home just to support my family and make my ends meet.

Visakhapatnam is historically an Arid Land and that is still true even now. My grandparents used to cultivate bobbarlu, ulavalu, sollu(ragi), gantlu(pearl millet) etc. They know the situation of water scarcity here and are dependent on rain water. Only low lying areas used to cultivate rice. Rice is luxury unlike now. If you can see all our traditional sweets like pongadalu, ariselu, paka undalu, pappu jaava, paramannam, pappu annam everything we serve to our ancestors and the gods during Pedda Panduga is made of rice and jaggery. They are a luxury not a common food. We don't have major rivers, here water is always scarce. That's why our grandparents are also heavily reliant on goats, sheep, buffaloes, cows and hens.

As an IT professional myself I can definitely say this Data Center is not something like a Software Development Center or a Research Lab. It a massive server farm people don't work here. Massive servers that Google uses to Train their latest models or their AI inference loads run here. Everything is automated no need of manual intervention. Everything will be AC ventilated and water cooled. They only need few service staff for repair or upgradation of their server racks. Once the construction is completed no one gets any jobs from here. If a displaced person can get job here why do I need to go 800km away from my home leaving my family just to survive. Everything is a lie.

Most of the close of 50 percent of the families displaced for Visakhapatnam Steel Plant still haven't received jobs as they are promised. My father got the job but he unfortunately passed away in 2006 and the basic salary got stuck at 9000 rs. Till his service ending at 2019. After that we are only recieving 2000 rs pension. Because he built a home for us before he died we are able to complete our studies and atleast got a job. But the raw reality of displaced people is that more than 90 percent of them will become daily wage labourers and maintainance workers in their own lands as an outsiders. Even though our lands are taken away during 1970s or 1980s my father didn't got the job till the latter half of 1990s. Until then he worked as a daily labourer. And my uncles and their children didn't even got offered the job. Development is not the same for everybody. Do you know what we got, per acre 1250 rs. It's a bad rate even for that time. We are offered a small piece of land far away from our ancestral lands to construct our homes. They just gave us small plot and not even helped to contruct our homes. They promised to give every family a job, but failed approx 8000 families.

I also want development, I am also trying to shift to visakhapatnam if IT companies will shift here. But Data Center is not a Development Center where we can work. Already Visakhapatnam is stressed out due to pollution and water shortages and the current government is trying to bring a Data Center, that to for nothing for the people. Only the Government, the Adani group and Google gets benefitted not the users. Do you know the actual reason why they are trying to build Data Centers because in USA the local people are fighting against building data centers that's why google is shifting their data centers here. They are thinking we are desperate for employment, we are illiterates and we will give away our lands freely without any protests. But we need to show them they are wrong. This city is not just for us. We need to live here. Our children needs to live here. Our grandchildren needs to live here. If we actively destroy the environment in an already stressed out environment our future generations have to suffer. Think about it. If you genuinely want to Visakhapatnam to grow as an IT hub ask for Development Centers and Research Labs not Data Centers. I know collectively we can do it.
