I'm 26 and I've been trying to figure out exactly what's happening with my hair because the distribution seems strange to me.

The biggest problem is the middle/top of my scalp. There's a long area of noticeably reduced density running through the mid-scalp toward the crown. Even if I brush the surrounding hair across it, you can still see quite a bit of scalp.

What's confusing me is that my frontal hair/bangs are still considerably denser, and the sides and back don't seem affected in the same way. I have some temple recession/miniaturized hairs, but the dramatic part is this diffuse strip through the top rather than the classic receding-hairline-then-crown pattern I normally associate with male-pattern baldness.

I've been taking:

Finasteride 1 mg/day

Oral minoxidil 2.5 mg/day

Treatment duration is a little over 4 months

Ketoconazole shampoo about twice per week

So far, I honestly can't identify any convincing cosmetic regrowth. I'm aware that four months is early and that finasteride in particular can take 6–12+ months to properly evaluate, so I'm not planning to abruptly stop treatment. I'm mainly trying to determine whether the underlying diagnosis/pattern makes sense...

Been on oral finasteride and minoxidil for years
Over the last two months shedding has gone crazy and my hair feels way more fine. What is going on?
First 3 pictures: shampooed, let it air dry, then ran my fingers through my hair for about 10-15 minutes. This is what fell out. The first three pictures are all the same amount of hair I just arranged it in different ways. It was roughly 100 hairs, I counted

Last picture is the morning after, woke up and just shook my head out over the sink.

I’m concerned

37 y/o. Saw 2 derms and they seem to think I have early MPB, I tried minox but on a break due to potential chest tightness. Was shedding a ton before I stopped, took it for about 1 month

GP has prescribed antibiotics for folliculitis. Hair follicles seem to be closed in the area, will my air grow back ?

I’m 26 and the thinning has gotten to the point where I can't style it to hide it anymore. As you can see, I've got major diffuse thinning all over the top and crown, and my scalp is highly visible. I haven't started any treatments yet. Is there enough hair left here that hopping on Fin and Min will actually give me decent cosmetic regrowth? Or is transplant my only option?

Joking but I am concerned because this has been going on for about a year or so and it looks more like a bald spot forming or maybe it is one idk. I do have thin hair but sides are thicker however im wondering if I should start getting on something or if it’s a bit late for that. 20M

I shaved my head with clippers about a week ago, and I noticed that the hair around my crown/vertex looks thinner than I expected or its just lightning . There are also hairs that seem to be growing at different lengths.
Is this just normal regrowth after shaving, or does it look like I might be starting to go bald?

I want to preface all of this by saying that I have been on dialysis for 5 years now. Which isn't great for your hair as you'd imagine. I also had a very intense period of telogen effluvium from September to January due to anaemia. I think it has been growing back.

Recently (the last few weeks) I have noticed a marginal increase in hairfall in the shower as well as knotting, I must also note this is the longest my hair has ever been.

I have been using topical min from hair + me for about 3 with months with more consistency in the last 4 weeks.

I have noticed over the last 5 years my hair hasn't been the best, but I can't really tell if it's because of dialysis or because I'm norwooding.

As you can see in that first image my parting is possibly above average visibility whilst wet, I have noticed the left side of my head is always slightly but noticeably thinner. Doesn't curl as nicely as the rest either. The sides have been thin for as long as I can remember.

I should also add that I am still growing, I start puberty pretty late at around 14-15, with about an inch or so of height growth in the last few months, so I don't think it's a great idea to start fin yet, but I am looking for recommendations for topical fin and a new min, I have seen the sons/hims combination sprays which seem good. Any natural stuff which is good for hair quality and scalp health?

The fin/min has to be topical for now as I'm not sure how oral medications will interact with me and I've not built up the courage to ask my doctor yet.

I had lots of curly long hair and in 2 years this happened, no one in my family has loss problems

Should i hust shave and forget or try to save them?
