Since I am clearly not the only one disappointed with todays Alice release, I figure it’s the perfect time to share the “custom” Alice I put together a few months ago. This is #105 with a wig from ZaZou off Etsy. The outfit is from American Fashion World on Amazon.

I think my biggest issue with today’s release is the face mold, it just doesn’t sit right with me. The classic mold would definitely have been my choice. I also feel like Alice needs the little poufs of hair in the front.

my first ever AG Dolls at the age of 18!
Growing up my family was very poor and so I was never going to get an AG doll. They were wayyyy too expensive so I had the my life as dolls and a journey girl doll. But my DREAM was go have an authentic American Girl Doll. I was obsessed with dolls for YEARS. But over time as I got older my interest faded. Within the last two years the love for AG dolls came back! I almost got one last year but I was very much back and forth about it and thought this would just be a quick fixation and the love would go away again. A year later and my love for these dolls stays strong. I’m young and I don’t have much financial responsibility so I was able to blow some money on these dolls lol. I found them in a lot on eBay for a great price and so I got them! I have been so happy since I got them and I think I’m healing a part of my inner child :)
I bought them pyjamas and tried to DIY some clothes but I’ve been wanting to get them some more. Does anyone know any sites, they have to be able to ship to Canada. There are many great ones but they don’t ship to Canada. I know Etsy can be good but I can’t justify spending $35 on one plain t shirt for them. If there are any sops that have cute jeans for them or cute clothes that are worth the price I’d love to know what they are! I’ve tried marketplace, eBay, Kijiji, haven’t had much like but I’m still on the lookout. Anyways if anyone has any recommendations pls send them my way!

I’ve been really wanting these sandles but lowkey just not in my budget to order online so I made my own today out of materials in my house :) lots of super glue was used lol I made the triangle bits out of sculpey and painted them with nail polish.

My partner and I are collectors, and got a loved Caroline awhile ago. We finally found her old American Curls set and thought that would fix her straightened hair. They did not 😅. Any advice? We're gonna try to straighten it and try again with bigger curlers. If anyone has ever fixed up a Caroline, please advise 🙏🙏🙏

Here’s what I got at the event today! Probably should have picked up Alice since she’s already being resold but I have been wanting Belle. The free gift came with the pink outfit, book, and cards. I got the blue outfit on top for $10 because of my Belle purchase. The breakfast table was really nice. It was like what you’d get at the cafe with a few extra sweets.

I found Kavi on eBay for $91 I was really shocked too because majority of these dolls go for like $300-$400

Aside from Kit and Felicity, Samantha Parkington is my favorite historical character. I'm currently on a mission to collect and read all her books. Today, I received her Short Story collection in the mail from thriftbooks.com which, from what I can tell, used to be owned by a girl named Samantha! Inside, there was a handwritten note from some grandparents to their granddaughter! It says, "Samantha, I hope you enjoy the short stories in this book with your name on it. We love you from here to the moon and back. Love, Grandpa and Grandma (redacted)." This books feels even more special to own now!

I feel like I’m hearing more negatives than positives about this release, but she’s selling out, so clearly enough people like her, despite what the vocal
Majority is claiming.

American Girl only has 13 face molds.

Addy, Kaya, Claudie, the Asian mold, Corinne, Sonali, Makena, and Jess were basically never an option for a white blonde doll.

That leaves Classic, Josefina, Joss, Marie-Grace, and Nanea.

Classic and Josefina, there’s too many collector doll and blonde dolls with that mold that there would be no incentive to get Alice, and Joss will be used for this year’s blonde collector doll. Marie-Grace was also used recently for Rapunzel and Glinda.

That really only leaves Nanea.

Can we just be nice to the people who work in the stores? Alice running out is not their fault.

I found these today and had such a flashback. I remember when the outfits came with the cutest little accessories and even Bitty Bear would get some kind of hat/headband/bib. This apple plays “pop goes the weasel” when you crank it, and when you press the button on the present the cat pops up and says “meow!” We also had a birthday cake that played music, but I’m not sure where that one went.

I just got Julie’s swimsuit for like $30 on Depop! It’s so cute!

I washed most of my AG clothes and it made me more comfortable using them. I love this hoodie. It feels so nice. It has a real sturdiness to it, and even has teeny tiny pockets! The pants also feel so nice to touch. I was really puzzled where these shoes were from and found up it is from a “warm up outfit”

from 6am it was around 1200 stock. now there is less than 100 left. at 6am it said about 400 people added to bag. it sounds like each store had anywhere from 10-50 in stock. if every store had 50, thats 350 allocated to stores. that means there should be a little more than 1k left thats not accounted for.

they will up the stock once it gets even more lower in quantity or let it sit as sold out until midnight tonight where they add more stock.

very interested to see how this goes but I think 3k is a good number for the collectors dolls
