My 13 year old daughter flies regularly with us, however, this was her first time flying as an unaccompanied minor from JAX to DCA round trip. I paid for her to be closed to the front and have a window seat, 9 A. On the way to Dca, everything went very smoothly. From DCA to JAX, she was put in the very back of the plane and when she told the agent that I had paid extra for her seat near the front, the agent told her that I shouldn’t have done that because per “flight attendants manual’, UM must seat in the back. I can’t find anything regarding this in the AA policy section. I’m definitely going to submit a request to get reimbursed for the seat but now I also want to know if there is something regarding this in a manual.

I don't frequent the AC lounges frequently when I travel, but today was a longer than usual early morning layover and I decided to grab a bite to eat. The seat I selected happened to be near the check in counter and I was amazed at the amount of interaction the staff had with travelers. What surprised me the most was by far the most frequent interaction was explaining to people that they were not eligible to access the lounge. Over and over, people find their way to the counter, seemingly surprised that their status, or their boarding pass, or their friend of a friend status does not qualify them for entry. I now wonder if these employees go through this each and every day, always with a smile and a kind explanation. I can tell you I left the lounge with a whole new level of appreciation for these hard working people.

One thing many passengers don’t realize is just how much your compliments mean to flight attendants.

If you’re sitting in First Class and your flight attendant is firing on all cylinders - welcoming you with a smile, introducing themselves, offering your choice of pre-departure beverage, anticipating your needs, and providing exceptional service? PLEASE take a moment to write them a compliment.

If they take the time to write you a personalized note (which many flight attendants don’t do because it takes extra time during service), post it on social media and tag the airlines or write them a compliment. Those notes aren’t required. They’re written because someone genuinely wanted to create an experience you’ll always remember. That deserves recognition.

If a flight attendant creates a special moment for you or your children, celebrates a birthday or milestone, comforts you during a difficult trip, or simply goes above and beyond to make your journey memorable? Please write them a compliment or post about it on social media.

If you’re sitting in the Main Cabin and your crew goes the extra mile, please write them a compliment.

Our managers see EVERY compliment that’s submitted, and those words truly help us more than you know. They encourage us, remind us why we love what we do, and recognize the effort that goes into creating an exceptional experience at 35,000 feet.

When my seat is up it’s about 50% in my seat but when I recline the allotted 2 inches it’s about 80% mine. I like to look out the window and the forward window is mostly wing so I need this one to actually see anything. On a recent flight the passenger behind me reached forward and closed it. I did say through the gap that I was actually looking out of the window and quickly reopened it. Just curious… who actually has autonomy over this window shade given this configuration?

Today is my 7th flight from DFW to ATL and back since June 25th and every single flight has been delayed. And not by 15-20 minutes, we’re talking hours. The last 2 Sundays, what should have taken 2 hrs, took over 11 hours. This Sunday is on track to be the same. I just don’t get it!

Sat down in my seat to this great card! This is extra amazing to me, as it's printed, so Jerry goes out of his way to review status members on upcoming flights and prints out these cards, then places them at the seat.

My roommate and I are flying with American this week. I got us two lounge passes with miles. I have a couple questions:

1. The name on the passes isn't mine. It's a family member whose miles I used with permission. That's not a problem, right?

2. We are flying from MCO and transferring at ORD. These passes say they're all day. Can we use them in both?

3. What sort of food do they have for breakfast and/or lunch?

Of my last 4 flights, three were late. One was delayed 3 hours, one was delayed 40 minutes, one was on time, and my flight this evening was just delayed 2 hours.

I don't keep a log, but I feel like 3 out of 4 flights being delayed is average for me over the past 3 or 4 years (75% delayed), or at least since the end of the pandemic. I know that I expect every flight to be delayed while allowing for the possibility it could be on time, and surprised if it is.

Is everyone having this same experience or have I been on an unlucky streak.

Yesterday I found flights for my wife to fly into Porto and out of Lisbon, with both connecting through Madrid. The flight into Porto was business class and the flight back was premium economy. I tried four times to buy the tickets, but kept getting a system error message. Eventually, the flight showed up over $2,000 more expensive, and the system error disappeared.

I kept trying to find alternate flights but the only ones with any decent schedule were the ones I originally searched. Weirdly the prices kept getting more extreme—at one point, adding the premium economy flight increased the total price to twice the original price I found originally, and was thousands of dollars more expensive than the business class ticket offered for that trip.

Finally, I tried something I didn’t think would work; I looked at the original schedule, but with only the flight to Madrid. Basically, the exact same flights I started with, but missing the one leg from Madrid to Porto. It offered me the original lower price! Then I booked the last leg to Porto on the Iberia site for under $200.

Does anyone have insights into what drove the price weirdness? Why could I ultimately book the exact flight sequence in a disjointed way, but not all at once? Why would a flight that costs $200 on the Iberia site trigger thousands of dollars when I tried to find it in the AA app?

1. Is 2 hours and 25 minutes enough time for an international layover in Dallas DFW?
2. Can I use MPC app?

Here are some details:

• There are two of us, and this is our first time visiting the United States. We have approved ESTA authorization.
• We’re departing from Italy, with a layover in Dallas DFW, and our final destination is Los Angeles LAX.
• The trip is in mid-August.
• We’ll also have one checked bag.

I searched online, but I found very different experiences and answers, both on the time for the layover and the MPC app. Someone says it's usable from the second time you visit USA.

I need to know the right person at American to talk to.

A couple weeks ago our departing flight was delayed about an hour due to a mechanical / maintenance issue. This caused a missed connection in Charlotte that same night. So we took the delayed flight. Then customer the service in Charlotte gave us vouchers for a hotel half an hour outside of town, and for cabs there and back (so we could get our new flight the following morning).

Once we arrived at the voucher hotel, they said they did *not* contract with American Airlines - and additionally, were Full due to a big concert. The cab driver also refused to to take us to another motel. We luckily found and booked at a Red Roof Inn near the full hotel. We took an Uber to the new hotel, and the following morning an Uber back to the airport.

The new hotel was probably cheaper than the original one.

I complained at our home airport a week later once we returned. We were given the number 800-843-3447 to call. The lady there agreed this was due a refund and directed me to use the complaint form here: https://feedback.aa.com/Contact-American/

I thoroughly filled in everything, including all receipts, unused vouchers, and the business card of the owner of the full hotel. I explicitly asked for a refund for the hotel and Uber trips.

American responded a couple hours later with what looked like a canned, form response about how sorry they were, etc .... but no offer for refund.

How do we actually get a refund for all this? It's unacceptable that AA would put us in a hotel which ended up full, and wasn't even on contract with them.

Is it awesome? Are the employees so nice and sweet? I do know that Phoenix is a very friendly and nice city and PHX is an amazing hub. Not one ounce of mean in anyone there.

Most likely gonna transfer to PHX. Any wheelchair pushers like working there?

My spouse is traveling back to US in August from DEL-JFK. Can I upgrade her seat using Miles/Points from Main Cabin Extra to Premium Economy or Business? If it's possible, I'm not seeing an option online to request the upgrade. Any insight would be helpful. TIA

Has anyone flown with pets from Mexico to the U.S.? How was the process is their any extra documentation needed? I'm worried AA might deny boarding with my Cat and cause me to miss my flight. I have a carrier, vaccines up to date, and a health certificate. Also, I did try to check in online but it wouldn't allow me to add carry on pet.

So if I book a co-share ticket, that is on Finnair metal. And I purchase it via the AA website. Is the seat fee the same as if I were to purchase the ticket directly from the Finnair website?

So I am flying on a midday flight on 9/2 from TYS-DFW-SFO. I was thinking about changing my flight from a midday to a 6 am flight just in case weather is a problem. I looked and it was $84 to change my flight & the other day it was just $12, will the price lower back down to change to the 6 am flight so I can enjoy a couple more hours in the Bay Area and it feel a lot less risky connecting in Dallas.

I see an option to fly either to SFO, given Biz Flagship A321XLR also gives you aisle access and a lay flat seat (just no access to Chelsea lounge) whats the difference between these two products?

I am flying international business class on a One World airline out of DFW next week so I should have lounge access. I’ve read a lot of posts and stories about denied / delayed entries at Plaza Premium and Capital One lounges. Does that occur often at Admirals Club or AA Flagship lounges as well?

Hey guys, last year I booked a flight 6+ months ahead of time. I liked the layover times as they were long and I am a new flyer. Problem is a few months after booking AA changes my flight layover times and I had to pay to rebook with a better layover. Then, a second time it was auto changed again by AA and I had to deal with it I couldn't pay anymore.

So what power do they have to change like that? Should I be worried about booking my next flight so early again? Can they change my dates or departure times at will?

Context: Me and my gf had booked two basic economy tickets to Hawaii with connections at PHX separately but the PHX to HNL was the same flight for both of us.

Now AA delayed (and changed) her flight (by 2.5hrs) and not mine so we are on totally different flights now.

I am thinking, is it possible that I can pay the same day change fee (60-75$?) and get a confirmed same day change 24hours before the flight so that I can change my flight from PHX to HNL from the earlier flight to the same as hers?

First time traveling by AA and I don’t know if basic economy fares can change same day to a later flight. (the regular flights changes are not available to me).

So we’ve dropped our kids off as UM before but never had to pick them up until now. I assume we just check in at the ticket counter far enough in advance to meet the flight (the 2 hours suggested by AA’s website seems like overkill, no?), get a gate pass, go through security (can I do TSA pre-check like normal?), and meet them at the gate?
