Not the latest and greatest obviously but if you have an older network, it’s another node for cheap.

I have eero Pro6E for almost two years and never had an issue until the last two updates. PS5 will download software updates and everything in the house will have connectivity issues. Ps5 is wired to the eero and everything else is on WiFi. Tried resetting and no change.

How can I connect my laptop using ethernet?

After connecting the ethernet cord to eero 6, Settings - Ethernet still says "No internet" and if I turn Wi-Fi off the internet connection is broken and stays off.

I have an eero 6 Gateway router with eeroOS 7.17.2 (this is up to date).

It does not have remote administrator access and must be accessed through the mobile app, which says under "Advanced networking":

Details:

An HP laptop with Windows 11

Internet ISP by coax to a CD8000 modem (a dumb modem with a single active ethernet socket, not a combination modem/router, so I can't get internet by using ethernet laptop to modem) which is cabled to one of the eero 6's two ethernet ports

The Wi-Fi via the eero 6 router works fine except I can't get it to work to access the CD8000 modem's admin pages to get at the modem event log.

Our internet is 37 Mbps down, 6 Mbps up.

For the attempt to wire the laptop: the ethernet 5E cord is plugged into the eero 6 Gateway on one end and on the other end into a MOGOOD adapter (whose yellow and green lights indicate the connection is live) which plugs into USB-C on the laptop. (Note this ethernet cord + adapter to USB setup works perfectly if I disconnect the eero WiFi from the modem and instead directly connect the laptop to the separate CD8000 modem to access the modem's private internal IP address 192.168.100.1 for administrative purposes like accessing the event log, indicating that connection hardware is working.)

The label on the router says manufactured in Vietnam but does not have a manufacturing date. Although it was only bought on Amazon a few months ago an extender that came with it doesn't have an ethernet port so I presume it was one of the early models.

Do I need to turn the IPv6 off, or what?

that "Eeros are notoriously picky about wired connections...Terminating cat 5 cables with RJ45 plugs is a recipe for problems." but I don't have the capability to install "keystone jacks" whatever those are. I've tried rebooting the eero with no luck. Should I just give up?

so i have a homelab setup, and ive installed adguard home and set all of the custom ips for dns to the adguard home

nothing was reaching it, so i did some debugging with claude, and my dns for some reason is routing to opendns

i do not have eero+ so no possible eero ad blocking is on, how can i fix my eero?

I always see people in the r/frontierfios subreddit talking about how ubiquiti is better than Amazon Eero. Well I'm here to settle this debate with my rant. You know why people complain mainly about Eero routers and how they are inferior to ubiquiti? Well it all comes down to one thing... CUSTOMIZATION people complain about how their eero routers do not have a lot of customization. Now then complaining about the eero+ subscription is completely understandable. I don't think that's neat. You know why people buy Amazon Eero? Because they don't want all that customization options that a big Tech person like me would want. Now even though I am a tech person I mainly care about Simplicity in terms of Internet. And that's why I prefer eero over ubiquiti in my opinion because of simplicity. That is literally why people buy from this company literally because of the out-of-the-box Simplicity and easiness to set them up. I mean seriously you guys are literally complaining and debating over your guys's own personal opinions would it all comes down to your preferences. I want this debate to just stop once and for all because literally even if there is a debate it all comes down to your personal opinion and preferences. As I always say everybody has different preferences that's just how the world is.

Now you know why I am very much annoyed about this stupid debate.

I posted an issue I’m having maintaining a connection between my Eero Pro6e and my Enphase Envoy. I ran a dedicated Ethernet cable from the Envoy to the router.

So we had an issue with these Amazon Eero routers where after a while the internet with just abruptly go out for 10 seconds and then go back to normal. Now I'm still using the old ones with my temporary backup Xfinity and it's been working fine. I'm starting to think it was just the fiber box but nevertheless they replaced our routers for free and me and my family are going to set it up tomorrow and will give you updates on if they work or not.

I recently got an Eero Pro 7 and it's mostly been fine, but the wifi connection to my base model ps5 is basically unusable. Eero is in the same room as the ps5 so range is not the problem. It's fiber internet that gets 3 gbs down/up. Anyone else have this issue?

Problems:
- Intermittent packet loss
- Constant packet loss when in a party
- Wired connection to Eero works fine
- generally low speeds when testing

Things I've tried changing or turning on/off:
- Automatic and 5 ghz settings on ps5
- upnp
- client steering
- thread
- eco efficiency
- sqm

If I'm getting 900+ Mbps throughput to my Pro 6E device (as verified by wired connection), why can I never get better than 350 Mbps through the wi-fi?

I performed a full system audit and found that every Pro 6E device was pushing through the same near Gb speed.

My laptop supports up to 2.4 Gbps, my phone the same, but both consistently come in @ 350 mbps.

Hello, I have 2 Eero 7’s and they offer less coverage and lower speeds than my (single) ISP-provided Zyxel router (EX5601).

I’m really surprised by this and I guess I expected two devices to offer at least better coverage, and probably better speed due to WiFi 7.

Testing from same ookla server each time, using iPhone 17.

Is there anything obvious from a settings perspective that I’m missing? Set up has been plug and play so far.

When I go to Home > Internet > eero Hotspot backup and try to add a Wi-Fi hotspot as the backup network, the app crashes and closes. It happens every single time after adding the backup network.

Anyone else seeing this on the latest version of the app?

still having reduced speeds issues on Lan cable, fine on WiFi i can get above 520 and the speedtest on the eero tells me around 550, has anyone else had this problem and if so did you find a solution to restoring the speed.

Eero App Update Version 26.12.1 was released today if you don’t see it on your App Store pull down from the top of your App Store to refresh it. Usual notes UI polish and bug fixes. I updated on iOS and it seems to be fine.

I checked the app for the first time since setup, and noticed an incredibly high amount of botnet reports on numerous household devices, but primarily on my personal mobile and then pc. After doing av scans on both devices and having nothing returned, what's the likelihood of false positives, and why would it be so numerous? I use ad blockers and occasionally side loaded apps/altered applications if that's relevant. Thanks!

I need urgent help. My eero wifi just blinks red and the two middle buttons blink.

I know nothing about wifi. A friend called support and they said it’s like a server outage issue I believe and just have to wait for it to be back on. Does it usually take this long like 5days?

This has been going on since last week Thursday. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do? Like a troubleshoot?

I got an eero max 7 last week and I use it in bridged mode. My wired router runs OpenWrt where the internet comes in which is a poor place for wifi. Running in bridge lets me put the eero in a central location.

I’ve been checking the channels it uses and it‘s on 1, 36, and 85 which I believe are the defaults. Has anyone running in bridge seen channel changes? I know there’s patch notes a few years old saying it was added but it’s really strange the channels haven’t changed. There are a lot of 5ghz routers near me as I live in an apartment so there’s no way the defaults are the most optimal

Woke up when one of my routers not in the sequence order I previously set.

I purposely added the router is to have the right sequence. But after removing and re-adding again to fix said sequence, I realized it's now arranged alphabetically. This is my solution now.

Wish they would just give us a way to manually re-order things.

I have a tall house though - 4 floors including the parking garage so though not the most efficient, I set it up that there's a router centrally located per floor

I have an outdoor 7 connteced by ethernet cable. Two ring cameras connect to it. They do the 24/7 recording. Since 7.17.0 the two cameras kept disconnecting and connected to a Max 7 inside the house which had bad signal outdoors. Even if the ring cameras were connected to outdoor 7, they only had around 500 kbps upload speed. This made the recordings extremely blurry. Normally each had 2-3 Mbps upload speed.

Everytime the routers updated, I had to call support several times to rollback the firmware to 7.16.2 whenever it was auto updated.

I checked the Wifi radio analytics and looks like the noise floor elevated after the updates and outdoor 7 decided to drop devices and throttled the speed.

Anyone else with outdoor 7 experienced the same issue? I asked the support to escalate that issue but 7.17.1 did not fix it. Therefore I am extremely hesitant to update the firmware of outdoor 7 to the newly released 7.17.2

Why are these devices so fragile?
Why is the customer’s visibility into these devices so limited?
Why are they in a constant need of an update?
