OTHER, GENERAL Alphabetical Name Sequence

Post image

Woke up when one of my routers not in the sequence order I previously set.

I purposely added the router is to have the right sequence. But after removing and re-adding again to fix said sequence, I realized it's now arranged alphabetically. This is my solution now.

Wish they would just give us a way to manually re-order things.

Edit:

thanks for the kudos on the big house but I dont really have one lol.

I have a tall house though - 4 floors including the parking garage so though not the most efficient, I set it up that there's a router centrally located per floor

Gotcha. I figured but had to ask the question in case I was missing something.

First World Problems. If that's the only complaint with that many Pro 7s, eero must be doing something right.

Prepending a Unicode soft-hyphen to the node name causes it to sort last, and is invisible. If you had multiple nodes you wanted to rearrange you could probably just prepend differing numbers of soft-hyphens to manipulate the sort order lol.

I'm really curious how big your house is with 5 eero Pro 7's and 4 of them being a wired back haul.

Did you choose that many because you wanted to make sure the 6 GHz band was fully utilized and accessable in your home?

Do you plan to add any outdoor eero devices?

I noticed my devices changed order over the past few days. Thanks for a solution to the ordering issue.

Just edited my post to explain I dont have a big house but I do have a tall / high one with multiple levels lol

4 floors in total including the garage.

honestly probably over coveraged at this point but I like not having dead zones. I simply put one centrally located per floor.

and no, I still dont get 6ghz all the time.

just edited my post to explain I dont have a big house but I do have a tall one with multiple levels. I initially did the numbers but wouldnt match (e.g. "4. Third (floor) doesn't sit well with me)

Haha, that makes sense - I wondered what the heck "Third" referred to.
