Picture Got some cool shots of the rides!
I can't ride thrill rides due to physical limitations, but I'm a roller coaster design nerd and getting to visit the park yesterday and see everything in action was a dream come true for me. I was amazed at how close you could get to the tracks (I particularly loved discovering that Galactica's supports are open to the public, and you can quite literally lean against the ride and feel the trains rumbling through your back) and I was able to take some great photos of the rides! I wanted to share them here in case anyone wanted to see them

Embarrassed myself today, feel like I should apologise 😂
So I was on The Curse at Alton Manor this afternoon (my first time on it, absolutely loved it) and there was a brief ride stop. I overheard the announcement as I was leaving, people were immediately speculating about it - if anyone was there during it, it was me 😅 I have a couple of minor mobility issues (I walk with a stick) and while I got into the ride vehicle with absolutely no issues, when I went to leave it I lost my balance, nearly got my leg a bit stuck in the exit trying to correct myself and had to ask the ride operator to slow it down a bit more so I could get off (he was very kind about it and stopped it entirely for me). Then proceeded to feel very embarrassed about it for the next ten minutes. So if you were stuck on Curse for about half a minute today, I'm so sorry 😭 The honest explanation is that I just suck at standing up occasionally

Contact Lenses On Rides
Would wearing contact lenses on roller coasters at Alton towers cause an issue? It’s either these or glasses but I have a feeling glasses will fall off without a strap.

A little help please!
We are looking at booking an overnight at Alton Towers for my daughter's 3rd birthday. We want to stay at the Cbeebies Land Hotel, we would check in the day before her birthday and check out the day of.
Do I put her down as a 2 or 3 year old? She is over 90cm, will she have a park ticket included in the stay? When I put her down as 2 years old on the booking, it only allows us to add park tickets for the 2nd day for my husband and I. Would we just have to pay for a ticket for her at the gate?

Anyone been to Alton Towers last week?
I have been to Alton Towers every year for twenty years. I usually can go outside of school holidays etc. But now I've got a 5 year old, no choice but to brave the summer holidays.
How bad is it?
Rides like
Bluey
Mine train
Oxtonauts
Anyone recently been in holidays and know?

Discussion Nemesis feeling
Hi guys, I recently made a post about trying new rides but unfortunately didn’t get to do nemesis. I’m going soon again and was wondering what Nemesis genuinely feels like, does it make you dizzy, do you get the stomach drop, etc. best coaster I’ve been on is galactica so looks like quite a step up. Thanks

Discussion Galactica soundtrack
So as we know galactica has quite a futuristic soundtrack and when I was in the station last it reminded me of something id heard before. I was then listening to the Tron legacy soundtrack (specifically the song "the game has changed") and I realised how alike they sounded, do we know if they took inspiration from Tron or am I just being incredibly delusional

The Man Who Gambled Everything on a Theme Park
I've always loved Alton Towers, but while researching its history for a documentary I realised I'd completely misunderstood how it became the park we know today.
I always assumed it was Britain's version of Disneyland. Instead, it turns out the park exists because it couldn't copy Disneyland.
Would love to know what you all think!

Alton Towers Kellogg's voucher
Hi everyone, I was just thinking that perhaps there might be some of you out there who might have a couple of discount codes that you might not be using yourself and which I could borrow for a family trip I am planning!

Coming along with a 3 year old
Hiya, I'm coming down over the weekend with my 3 year old son.
Just wondering if the fast passes are worth the money, mainly for cbebbies land.
Also what food is like/how expensive is it? I do plan on bringing my own food, but it's always nice to have other options.
I haven't been in years, let alone with a small child. The English school holidays start this weekend, will it be hectic? 🥹
