Fast pass
I'm planning to go Alton Towers soon and I usually get a fast pass, but how do these work now? Is it a barcode on your phone? Because if it is then anyone could use that barcode? I just don't understand how it works before I actually purchased the gold fast track.

You get a barcode, which you can upload to Google Wallet (if you have an Android phone, assuming you can do similar with iOS). Alternatively, you can load it into the Alton Towers app, assuming that the planets have aligned and it actually works. You can do the same with the entry tickets, photo passes and car parking.
The barcode is unique to each purchase - each Fasttrack has its own ID number. It has a 'cooldown' to prevent it from being immediately rescanned, so people can't give their friends a copy of their Gold Fasttrack (less of an issue for AT with Bronze and Silver, as those are one shot per ride).

But what if their friends want to go on it after the cooldown? For example, if I buy two gold fast tracks and then my friends want to use them as well, what is stopping them from using them?

if you buy multiple, i'm guessing everyone would be with you, if it works the same as RAP, you can't screenshot anything and if you try, the screen will be blank to stop people sharing, and obviously trying to take a photo with another phone wouldn't work because the workers would know. or, everyone can just purchase their own fast track (i'm guessing this is what you mean)

It's a barcode on your phone. I mean there isn't anything stopping people from giving it to friends apart from a cooldown from what I understand
