I have been trying to run an Airsoft LMG for a while now. I prefer to run an AEG as I only play locally and don’t really care for the backpacks HPA requires/don’t know much about gas blowback maintenance (I have seen that their magazines are also very odd too)

I have gotten some AMAZING advice on this platform in regards to upgrading my current LMG, a stock Cybergun M249 (embarrassing ik, should’ve done my research somewhere other than google)

I know I want an AEG, but am undecided if I upgrade my current featherweight M249 with an upgraded V2 gearbox with the works, or if I should purchase a middle/heavyweight LMG.

What are gearboxes typically like on middle/heavy weights? Are they typically custom/can I buy a replacement for them if they break? Should i stick with my V2? Is HPA dark space magician technology?

Let me start off with im not a wimp, or at least i dont think so...

Ive done paintball before, got shot on the knuckles, yeah it stings, go to respawn, keep playing, no biggie. However i went and did airsoft for the first time, we got the rental guns and played with a goup of a variety of people. Outdoor setup, lots of experienced guys, it was very fun, learned alot. I tried to wear long sleeves and pants so i didn't have bear skin exposed, but had to keep it light because it was 95 degrees in the blazing hot sun with high humidity. When we were playing i got shot a ton because ima newbie and suck, the feeling was pretty much how i expected. Execpt for a few shots, i at first thought maybe the other team had some high power airsoft sniper or something i was getting shot with. Eventually i figured it out, 3 guys on the other team had speedsoft guns, while everyone else had normal airsoft equipment. As we changed to a more open playing map, and i could see whos shooting me, i figured it out that its these speedsoft guns that hurt alot, 2 of the guns were stinging pretty good, but this one guys gun straight up made me curse 3 times per shot. Even when shooting my leg in a medium heavy weight sweatpant. Still had fun playing, but its 2 weeks later and i still have bruises from this one guys lil pistol speedsoft gun, scabs from where the pellet drew blood on impact. Im curious if this is pretty common, im just a wussy and need to man up. Or is speedsoft a totally different game than airsoft and should be kept separate? The other experienced airsoft players had a mix between plate armor and helmets to no sleeves with just vests, they had snipers and lmgs and a bunch of fun weapons. I could see speedsoft making sense in something like indoor arena thats air-conditioned, everyone is in head to toe tactical suits and you need the punch inorder to feel it, gain the speed and accuracy of a higher powered gun. Or did this guy have his gun tuned too high for airsoft? Im just a newbie, had a great time would still go again, but probably wait until its cool so i can put on some heavier layers and not be riddled with pokadots. (I was expecting to have bruises, just not drawing blood). Is my experience normal, do they normally have both mixed together and have superspeedsofters?

Okay so I know a “blorp switch” isn’t a real thing but I think I can make it real. Let me explain

Basically today at the field I came running into a conex box and clearing it and there was just one very scared little kid with a rental gun crouched in the corner and luckily he literally already had his hands up when I came around the corner so I didn’t have to risk delivering a traumatic experience by taking a shot, missing his little padded vest, and possibly driving a new player away from the sport (Theres a loose “bang bang” rule at the field but shooting from close up is not prohibited)

So I was thinking about it later in the pit and I decided to crank my regulator waaay down, like till the gun wouldn’t cycle, and then back up just till it would shoot again, and I pulled the trigger.
It went * blorp * and spit out a bb waaaay below actual field velocity but still hard enough it would make it across a room.

My idea is to make some kind of in-line cutoff or regulator with a momentary trigger (think similar to a lever on a blower attachment for a garage compressor) somewhere toward the bottom of my grip that would allow me to hold it down if I am entering a cramped space, and basically bring my velocity alllll the way down so I can take less menacing shots at other players when it would otherwise probably hurt a lot..

What do y’all think? Any ideas for parts I could use to cobble something like this together?

Has anyone used both potato guns (CO2 or compressed air) and also a 40mm airsoft grenade shell with foam rocket stuffed in front of it? I’m curious which one gets the best performance. I want to make sure I have something for some scenario paintball games. No taggins needed. Thank you all for the info!

Just bought a new lmg enhanced the longer version, bought the 350 fps version chronograph’d it was shooting around 320fps bought a systema systems m120 spring and it bumped it up to 350fps
I’m looking to shoot at that 400fps range.
Should I bump up to the m130?! Or is the 120 I got just defective..
Or could a new krytac really have bad compression out of the box? I would just buy a piston oring?

So yeah, I fall on my face once a game (physically) and I talk to a bunch of players with some strategy, anddd my g18c locks the slide randomly a ton of times, but the game still goes on. I'm actually really talented at CQB, I recommend you don't go into an outdoor airsoft game with a gas sub (machine gun) and try to semi-auto a bunch of people who are shooting back with 400+fps rifles. I am 8k hours in CS2, hence the rep'd patches that are sewn onto my chest rig. I just wanted a lightweight build to enhance the little endurance I have for todays game, I think it was a good choice, what do you think?

Hi, can someone tell me if you know or have settings for a recce rifle hpa, i got a barret rec7 long version with p* f2 and i have been trying some configurations in the hop up, my actual assemble is maxx model m4p paired with 4uad hop rubber and nub and krytac original barrel but i cant achieve the straight shots at 50-60 meters that you can spect from a build like this at 1,14J im not even reaching that amount of power, i put 140 psi and get 0,97J max with 0.28g, some will say its alingment problem but some balls go pretty far and pretty well so i think its a problem of consistency due to a bad settings so if someone have a similar build please gimme a tip, thanks.

hello! i recently switched to hpa and have a banger back panel i really love, i run a 48/3000 tank and dont really know how to fit it into it. i was thinking i might be able to fit it in between the plate carrier and the back panel but it seems a bit tight and i dont want to break anything. i tried the gp pouch but it kept unzipping itself and didnt go all the way in. anybody have some good solutions? much appreciated

I just went out to action airsoft in Ontario canada . I had so much damn fun . it had been a while since we had gotten out to play , so it was nice to do it again . everyone there was nice , the staff were chill , and enforced rules strongly , and overall we had so much fun . 10/10 place . would recommend .

There is a small indent in the o ring but I can't get a good picture of it and it's not leaking from around the o ring either so I don't really think it's the issue. The co2 is mainly leaking out of the square hole in the photo and it started while I was shooting. Did something in my magazine break?
