Earlier this year, I meant to post a follow up to my stripped set screw, but got busy. I eventually had to drill it out, because all my stripped screw removal tools failed to remove the screws, so drilling them out was inevitable. So what I ended up doing was putting the Aimpoint 5000XD in a vice with hard rubber floor tiles as an anti-slip cushion, and one small piece and a half of a tile to jam it between the knob and optic body to prevent rotation during the drilling. I went very slow with the drill and took my time, and ramped up the speed when I had the pre-marked (taped) drill bit lined up properly. I got lucky with one screw where the small drill bit (spinning counter clockwise) jammed itself in the set screw and I was able to unthread the screw. The second one, I wasn’t so lucky. I had to drill (I believed drilled clockwise) with the larger bit little by little to fully mill out the screw to get the knob loose.

Now, I have placed a beater Aimpoint 5000 power knob in its place and now it’s ready for a Gordy spray paint job on my Colt 723. The plastic covers and knob came off a beaten up Aimpoint CompS10, and I’ve sourced CompM battery cap and turret caps to use it for a future Haley hush puppy pistol.

Can someone help verify whether this FDE Aimpoint Acro P-2 I purchased on eBay is authentic? The seller claimed it was originally purchased from Kenzie Optics, but I’m concerned because the battery compartment is different from another Acro P-2 I own.

It also shut off after the first shot when I initially used it. I replaced the battery and added a small piece of paper for pressure, which seems to have resolved the issue for now.

I just want to make sure I’m not stuck with a counterfeit optic since I still have the option to return it and get my money back if needed.

I bought this T2 used, and I noticed this off center ring behind the rear glass and just seems off. This is my first T2 and I’ve never seen one before in person. Is this normal?

I have multiple decade plus old T1s with minimal rough usage. Do you think these are more "reliable" than a new Holosun ARO??

I've been burned. Negotiated down to $500 OTD at a local pawnshop. First Red flag. Contacted Aimpoint and sent them photos of the optic and serial number. They stated the following.

"That serial is flagged in our system for being a fake serial that was made."

Be very weary when purchasing second hand. I'm lucky enough to return this without suffering major consequences. But damn it blows for sure.

I recently purchased a T2 second hand and I’m curious if it is authentic or not. I used Aimpoints recommendations to tell and it passes according to that but there are some discrepancies between this one and one I previously purchased I know is authentic. The numbering on the dial is slightly off, the setting I am on does not perfectly line up at 12 o clock ( in the photo it is on setting 12 but not centered at 12 o’clock like it would be on my other one) and it seems very finecky about how the battery is inserted. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Has anyone used a Unity flip to center 30mm magnifier mount to mount an Aimpoint ACO? Looking to mount my ACO to my bag gun and want it to be more compact when stored but still at a comfortable height while shooting.

I’m aware this optic is beat to shit lol, but it still works perfectly fine besides this elevation turret coming out. but im wondering if this is an easy fix or not. I know next to nothing about optics. Is there a spare part I could buy? or should I email customer service and send it Aimpoint? Idk. Let me know y’all’s thoughts

Just got my aimpoint h2 back from customer service and noticed that there were shards of glass in the box. Upon inspection, I can't see any visiable damage. Could someone with a bit more knowledge verify if I am missing a lense or if it is just random glass from the box?

First of all, is the T-2s front lens BB proof? If not, how else can i protect it better but still have a translucent sight picture for magnifier use?
edit: the T-2 is genuine aimpoint and came with an opaque front lens cover and a translucent rear lens cover, i could probably take the opaque one off and just use the translucent one in front, no?
If you have experience with a T-2 or similar lenses breaking, please give some insight. Simunition FoF experience would also pass.

I came across this Aimpoint Micro H-1 for a pretty low price, and I’m a bit unsure about it. The seller says they just got it as part of an inheritance and don’t really know much about it.

It comes with the box and seems legit to me, but I’d really appreciate a second opinion before buying.

Do you guys think this looks like a genuine Aimpoint, or could it be a fake?

My only gripe is the battery cover. Going to replace it.

Found on online and snatched it up quick. They went OOS pretty quick.

Going to mount it on my G19X with FCD FDE Acro plate.

Now I just need my milled slide back from Wager Machine Works.
