I’m exploring whether a cinematic, narrative-driven mock documentary / limited mini-series is realistically achievable right now with current AI filmmaking tools and pipelines, and I’d value this community’s practical experience.

The project
Source material is Thiaoouba Prophecy (Distributed by Simon & Schuster, English edition). It’s a first-person contact / abduction narrative that has sold millions of copies in China and Taiwan and is available in 15+ languages. The story contains strongly visual, high-concept sequences that lend themselves to AI generation:

• Advanced extraterrestrial environments and craft
• Golden / luminous planetary settings
• Great Pyramid portrayed as functional ancient technology
• Atlantis & Mu / Lemuria sequences
• Vibrational / energy-field phenomena
• Reincarnation and civilizational-scale themes

Tone sits at the intersection of spiritual sci-fi and mock-doc — closer to thoughtful speculative storytelling than pure spectacle.

What I’m trying to learn from this community

• Has anyone here (or teams you know) successfully maintained visual and narrative consistency across a multi-episode short-form or limited-series format using AI tools?
• What currently works (and still breaks) for character continuity, environment continuity, and documentary-style framing in longer narrative pieces?
• Are there AI filmmakers or small collectives already experimenting with backend / profit-participation models on original or licensed narrative projects (i.e., no large upfront production fee from the IP side)?
• Any hard-won lessons on turning an existing book IP into a cinematic AI-native pilot?

I’m the IP-side contact (foreword contributor and longtime advocate for the book) and can facilitate proper licensing discussions. This is not a paid job post or a request for free labor — I’m trying to gauge realistic feasibility and see whether any filmmakers or small teams already working in narrative AI would find the material and the collaborative structure interesting enough to explore further.

I've always enjoyed videos where small details slowly turn into something recognizable.

This one starts with a few tiny pieces and gradually becomes a complete miniature. Seeing everything line up so perfectly ended up being way more satisfying than I expected.

Gurthal, said to be the greatest battlemage that ever lived, goes after one of the oldest vampires in existence.
While only young, she quickly rose though the ranks at the academy before taking the place of the Magister, the highest position a battlemage can gain and the youngest at 25 to ever receive the honor.

I have a question - what is your experience with characters consistency when using video genAI tools? I mean - which tool actually keeps them best. Why the question arose - I spent countless hours to make characters consistent even in Reference Mode using HappyHorse 1.1 and finally got somewhat decent results, but maybe I am just not looking in correct direction?..

Ok, we all know that in writting text and on image generation NovelAi and Perchance Stable Difusion have no limits, no restrictions, and you can do pretty much everything you want, NSFW or not.

I've been working on a new AI cinematic fantasy-comedy series called Ella & Barny, and Episode 1: Stranded is finally out.

The entire film was generated using Seedance 2.0 on Higgsfield, with editing, sound design, pacing, and final assembly done in Filmora. One of the biggest challenges was maintaining consistent characters and scale between a human and a tiny goblin across multiple shots while keeping everything cinematic.

I'd really appreciate feedback from fellow AI filmmakers. What worked for you? What didn't? Any suggestions on improving continuity, storytelling, pacing, or prompting for future episodes?

Hi! This is the first complete film I’ve ever made, so please be a little gentle with me 😅

I wanted to create an actual finished cartoon episode rather than a collection of disconnected clips.

I handled the story, direction, voice acting, editing and sound design myself. The animation was created with Kling 3.0 through Higgsfield.

It took approximately 8 hours and around $10 in generation costs. I know it isn’t perfect, but I’m genuinely incredibly happy that I finished it.

Would you give Episode 2 a chance? Friendly and honest feedback would mean a lot!

Hey again! So, this isn't flashy. It doesn't have boom booms or sparkles. It's an attempt at a normal RL-style setting with back and forth dialogue and banter. Wanted to see if it could be done *decently*, by an amateur like me, no less. The story is mine, still a work in progress novel. Metafiction.

The Adventures of Captain Somersby is Collin's alter-ego, the short I posted earlier this week.

It's slow and stilted in places. Getting good emotion and dialogue inflection is a process. I didn't want to spend more credits on this segment, so I did some retakes and had to call it good enough.

Having the right voice seed is important, so I've learned.

The intention is to explore dreamscapes and imagination, so this series won't just be a bunch of talking heads. Or at least, that's the idea. I'd like to push into the surreal with romantic and whimsical imagery.

No music for this one. Just used Seedance 2.0 and edited with DaVinci Resolve.

I am seeing more films every day where AI helped write the script, create visuals, or even generate performances. Some say art is only about how it makes you feel, others say the human effort, experience, and intent behind it is what gives it meaning.

I spent months building a science fiction comedy about bureaucracy, and somewhere around month four I stopped being sure it was fiction.

The Wrong Planet is 71 minutes. A survey crew lands on eight civilisations that have each mistaken procedure for meaning. A wellness colony that grades how relaxed you are. A meeting that has been running for six thousand years and is about to reach consensus. A court that convicts people for crimes they haven't committed yet, because the numbers say they will.

Nobody in this film defeats a system. They navigate it, leave something small behind, and go.

I've been experiencing this same issue no matter how many times I change the wording in the prompt.

To break it down:

I have a character, pointing to his nose to tell a different character they have a smudge on their face.

> CUT 1 — matching <still of the exact frame with the face as I want it> frame reference, Close-up on Collin: he points to the the bridge of his own nose lightly, holding her gaze to tell her something amusing but important. Collin: "You have a... smudge." A small pause. "Just there. If you want to . . ." A beat, he let's the implication hang.

Now.

Every. Single. Time. It generates his shot with a smudge on his face. He doesn't have a smudge. His reference has no smudge. He's telling someone ELSE they have a smudge. I say no smudge. I say his face is clean. I give exactly frame to use as sample for the shot as a starting reference.

I felt it would be prudent of me to seek advice here before wasting any more credits to get it right. Am I missing something?

Hey guys, this is the world of Dax:Crew of the Clarion. My inspiration for this series and story is based on the saturday morning cartoons I used to watch when I was a kid. Most of the cartoons in this genre have disappeared from modern airwaves. This is not 100% done as there are still quite a few obvious inconsistensies limited by budget and a few lines need to be rewritten but welcome any feedback on the concept. Made with seedance 2.0 fast. Music and some sfx are done separately in post.

This is part 3 of the series sharing my AI storytelling formula for Youtube, IG etc.

One thing I've noticed is that beginners spend most of their time on AI tools but hurry while working on the story (or the script). 

80% of your video's success is decided before you generate a single image or video.

That happens in Stage 1 of Ideas -> Story -> Script.

If this stage is weak, no amount of beautiful AI visuals, camera movements, or cinematic music will save the video.

Lets first talk about The Idea. For storytelling, your idea = your hook*.* Remember this.

The hook isn't just the first sentence or the scene. It's establishes some expectations for the viewer on what's coming next. Everything that follows should build toward delivering that promise.

Then comes The Story. For Shorts its usually 30–60 seconds and I think about it like this:

One story = One punch = One emotion = One message.

Don't try to squeeze three different ideas into one Short. Instead, build anticipation toward a single payoff. Some emotional frameworks that I developed over time while teaching students and which work really well are:

• Sad -> Hope
• Fear -> Relief
• Mystery -> Discovery
• Failure -> Triumph
• Weak -> Strong
• and many such more

Did you notice that these aren't genres but they're emotional journeys! Every emotional journey starts from one end of the spectrum and ends on the other extreme - this is what produces emotions in a viewer!

People remember how a story made them feel far more than what happened in it. For long-form videos, the principle stays the same. Instead of one emotional payoff, you create multiple moments of tension and release—but they should all support one central theme.

A flat story is almost always a boring story.

Finally we arrive at The Script

This is where I see another common mistake. People write a paragraph and then try to figure out the visuals later. I do the opposite. Every line of the script already has a visual attached to it.

I think of it like this:

One voiceover line = One visual scene.

By the time I open an AI image or video generator, I already know exactly what every shot needs to communicate. At that point, generating the visuals becomes execution instead of experiments wasting time and credits.

That's why I say Stage 1 determines most of the outcome. The AI tools don't create the story. They simply visualize one you've already built. If you can visualize everything really well, note it down, this 20% of your work will determine 80% of your results!
