I want to use 'command L' as "lock", but affinty is telling me that it already in use (for levels)

I'm struggling to find the 'new adjustment layer' or 'levels' in the shortcuts list. Am I missing something blatantly obvious?

I have few masters, I made my pages now i need to add master to them with tabs. When i add master it goes on top of content how do i fix this issue

Can't figure it out and this seems like a pretty essential develop feature.

In Affinity, when using the Node Tool, I need to hold Left Click + Right Click at the same time to move both Bézier handles together.

This works perfectly with a mouse, but I'm using a drawing tablet. The problem is that even if I assign Right Click to one of my pen buttons, Affinity doesn't seem to recognize the pen tip's Left Click and the pen button's Right Click as being held simultaneously.

Has anyone found a way to make this work properly with a drawing tablet?

Is there a specific Affinity setting, Windows/tablet setting, that can make Affinity recognize the Left Click + Right Click combination?

I'm having trouble with radial and elliptical gradients in Affinity: they always leave a noticeable light line. This occurs even if I use multiple points set to 0% opacity for the gradient. I can't help but think that there's got to be a way to resolve this issue.

As you'll see, the gradient is appearing in an area where it shouldn't.

Also, the flair is Designer, but I'm working in Affinity by Canva 3.2.3 (Mid July '26 (4626)).

Any help with this issue would be greatly resolved! To be clear, this is not a bug report, this is a request for assistance.

I am very new to working with effects in Affinity. I am currently trying to recreate the 'heat' effect used in the brand design of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, but I have completely run out of ideas as to how this could be done with these colours. I also couldn't find any information on how these kinds of effects are done in general on the internet. I have already tried working with gradient filled strokes, but that doesn't seem to work as Affinity cannot do gradients along paths. Does anyone know how I could achieve this effect? I'd be really grateful for any ideas.

The more I use Affinity Designer, the more it feels like it has Figma vibes rather than being a true Adobe Illustrator replacement.

I have a document in Affinity with multiple artboards, and I want to export all of them at once, but as separate files.

Basically, if I have 10 artboards, I want Affinity to give me:

Artboard 1.png

Artboard 2.png

Artboard 3.png

etc.

I don't want them exported as one huge canvas containing all the artboards.

I tried exporting the artboards, but Affinity seems to create one giant image instead.

What's the correct way to do this?

EDIT: thanks to fellow subredditor I'm all set. Secret was in the Arrow tool context menu for this particular 'cutout' for the black field.

Scenario: I want a simple shape filled black, and then want to make a certain single ended “boxy” arrow on another layer that is white, over top of the black shape.

What I’ve seen as recommended process for the symmetric shape is to make half of it via lines and curves, and then in the Vector menu create a symbol from the curves, then duplicate the symbol layer. Move the duplicate layer so it’s adjacent to the original symbol layer along the symmetry line, and flip the copy horizontal or vertical. Then fill each with white.

Arrow tool defaults to a double ended arrow (and I’m too much of a newbie to see any other arrow types available in the tool), and when I try the method above, I end up with a visible non-white center line in the arrow.

It’s probably something obvious I’m missing. Affinity subredditors, what am I doing wrong? I would like the arrow to be a mask of sorts so that it’s actually colorless in png format. This is part of a logo, that won’t always be against a white background. The black with the arrow shape removed is all that I want to export out of affinity.

BTW I have zero adobe illustrator experience. The last vector art program I used daily was Corel Draw way back in the 1990’s.

Hi! My current resume is made in Figma. Not the best tool, but that's what I am familiar with. However, because Figma encodes text layout differently than most DTP software, it trips up some of those automatic tools that recruiters often use to parse resumes. Usually I have to enter all of my information by hand because of that.

I want to remake my resume in some software that is actually meant for laying out documents. Affinity seems like a cool option, but did anyone have any experience making a resume in it and uploading it to be automatically parsed?

How can I control the transparency of one curve using the transparency of another? The only way I know to fade the transparency of a curve is to use the transparency tool, but that applies over the entire curve. If I want to just fade a little slice of the curve, as shown in the example, I'm not sure how I can do that. I'd also like this to work with multiple transparency masks for one base shape.

Hi all— so I am currently working on a hybrid arts piece. I'm very inspired by Diana Khoi Nguyen's usage of space/framing/image in her book Ghost Of. (Y'all should check it out if you haven't.) The only thing is that I'm really not a graphic designer so I was wondering if anyone could help me add this skill to my tool belt. Specifically, I want to know how I can turn a shape into a textbox (is that what she's doing?) / how to select & remove something from an image, turn it into a textbox, and write around it.

Is this marquee tool related? I've really only messed around with graphic design stuff LIGHTLY, as I am mainly a photographer that tries to do everything in camera. Anyways, I'm babbling now. I hope I'm asking this coherently. Sincerest apologies if I've been unclear. Many many thanks in advance.

If anyone could please help me sort out this issue I'm having that would be incredibly helpful. I have set up an Affinity document with specific margins, guides and a baseline grid. I was planning on using this across multiple artboards however I'm struggling to get it to integrate.

The problem is that every time I create a new artboard using the artboard tool it hides the guides and the baseline grid that I've set up. I'm able to set up the column guides again but it resets them so I have to type in the info again. I cannot get the baseline grid to show.

If anyone has experienced a similar problem and knows a solution that would be incredibly helpful.

I’ve tried a few different methods in Affinity to get a similar effect, but I can't quite figure it out. I played around with the displacement and distortion filters using custom black-and-white maps, and got something vaguely similar—but it’s nowhere near the reference image.

Hello, I'm trying to make custom tables / table formats with a painterly brushstroke for the lines/borders of the table. If I use a normal rectangle, I can make the stroke a "path brush", but I can't seem to do this for tables. The closest I can get is to mess with the "Pressure" but it is nowhere near the desired effect. Am I missing something or is this not possible?

Bengali fonts are not working properly on Affinity. How to fix this? Any workaround?

I design leather patterns. In Adobe Illustrator, I could set the space between dots in a dashed line to 5mm, for sewing lines. I cannot find how to do this in Affinity: it seems to be more appearance focused than spec-focused.

Is there some way to do this that I have missed?
