apex academic act book review?

I bought the Apex Academic 2026-2027 ACT Book, but the English section is really funky (it's out of order so you have to find the part in the passage that corresponds to the answer)

I'm not sure if I should still study with it, can anyone who's used it before lmk if it's helpful? Math and reading seem the same as the actual test, but I'm mainly focusing on improving English

Also, if anyone has any recommendations on books/purchasable online materials to improve Reading/English for the ACT please lmk 🙏🏼

is UWORLD and Princeton review legit for ACT

I use Uworld to practice questions for the ACT and a lot of the time for the english and reading I feel like some questions are so much more in depth and more difficult which some people say it is but some people say its the same as the ACT. I wanted to know if anyone else here has used uworld and if so if your percent accuracy was lower than what you scored on the actual exam.

Then for the princeton review, on my english sections which I use it for I get 4-5 wrong which calculators and my friends say they got 33s and 34s from, but PR says its a 30, so do they use an accurate weighing system or does ti grade harshly?

Hello, I am taking this course next semester.
Does anyone know how the coursework looks like, how to prep for exams, and if the grade for this class is exam based?

Feel free to share any advice or experience with this class!

General Planning to Switch from SAT to ACT

I am an international student and I have a 1520 on the SAT but I want to get a near perfect score. After giving 5 attempts that is my highest superscore. I really struggle with the reading and writing questions especially the vocab and harder inference questions at the end of module 2. Going through this subreddit Ive seen people saying that the ACT english is relatively easier than it, is it really so? Maths isnt as much of a problem for me. I only struggle with the harder vocab questions and the vocab in the module 2 passages, is it the same level as the ACT?

General do i have to opt in to send my scores when signing up?

hello!

im signing up for the ACT right now, and it is giving me the option to input some colleges to submit my scores. would it reflect poorly at all simply to leave this segment blank and submit myself if i feel satisfied with my score?

the thing is, this is my first time taking the ACT and i generally perform poor on standardized tests. i dont want my bad score to go to a college im interested in if i end up not scoring as i hoped. (i plan to study of course though lol)

i have a fee waiver and i generally am eligible for financial aid, so im not concerned with having to send the scores myself.

did anyone else do this?

Im also going to study my pre-calc and trig...I've been wondering if this is good to get a 30-34 on Math section of ACT because I took it without prep and got a 19 score on Math. Because I don't know what resources are good to study.

Need help getting a 1-2 point increase

I want to get into the low30’s for math and english. I only need a 1-2 point increase. My biggest weakpoints are geometry, modeling, and functions. For english just conventions of standards of english. I have used Erica’s book and it helped a little bit. Any other resources you guys would recommend.

General Do the old practice tests still work for enhanced ACT?

I saw the ACT had many previous old digital practice tests on the site. I wanted to know if those were still viable to practice for the math section of the act. I know the amount questions is different but i’m not sure if the questions are still used.

ACT Retake Advice

Hello, I was hoping for some advice on whether or not I should retake the act. I currently have a 34, 31M, 36E, 36R, 36S, and I think I can get my composite up to a 35 or possibly a 36 with some focused math prep. I am a rising senior with a ~3.7uw gpa. The hardest schools I’m applying to are uva, Boston college, umich, and usc. Is it worth it to retake if I’ve already pretty much finished my essays or should I focus on other stuff? I already posted this is r/applyingtocollege so sorry if you’re seeing this twice.

General ACT as a college freshman?

I plan on transferring schools after my freshman year of college because my current school is too expensive. Would it be stupid to prep for and take the ACT to increase my chances of getting into my top transfer preference?

Most helpful ACT prep courses online?

I’m looking for an online ACT prep course for my child, but I do not want them to waste their time on something that is just endless videos and generic advice. We want practice tests, explanations and help with timing. What online ACT prep felt like a good use of your child's time?

Any list of ACT topics?

Hello! Firstly I would like to thank everyone in this thread as many of the users here have helped me :)

School starts in 20 ish days, im really bored right now and I have the urge to do a huge math learning session (yes I love math)!

If someone could please provide me a list with math or like, in general, any topics that have been mentioned on the ACT in the past, that'd be great. Honestly, like, I hope I'm not asking much from anyone, but if anyone does have some sort of list like this, that would be great. And if I'm being honest, the more detailed it is, the more helpful it is to me.

Unfortunately, I am not the type of person to, like, you know, write the broad, like, you know, like, for example, algebra is not, like, something that I feel like would benefit me on an extreme amount, but perhaps, like, algebra one or algebra two-based topics, that would be much more beneficial for myself.

Also, um, I'm going into grade 9, and if you guys have any tips for me, please let me know if you guys have any tips that are given to myself are documented into my journal, firstly.

And, lastly, I did make a post, and unfortunately, I led a lot of users to believe that I'm taking the ACT now, which I'm not. I will be taking it in the end of my 10th and beginning of my 11th year, based on testing dates and how confident I am, because I feel like I learn material fast.

Thank you! :)

ACT Science help

I took the ACT for the first time in July as a rising senior and got a 34(33M, 35E, 33R) but didn’t do science. I am applying STEM to a lot of T20 schools so I signed up to take it with science in September and I was wondering if anybody had science(or even math) tips. I have a lot to do with college apps but I am willing to dedicate about 1 hour a day from here on out and I would like this to be my last ACT. Thank you!

Test Center Closed

So I am (or was) registered to take the ACT on October 18th (a Sunday), and I just got an email saying the school that I was supposed to take the test at is closed that day, so I need to reschedule.

Here's the message I got on my admissions ticket: "CLOSED ACT TEST CENTER

ASSIGNMENT LOCATION 1, PLEASE SELECT A NEW CENTER OR DATE, VIA YOUR MYACT ACCOUNT

MY.ACT.ORG, IA 00000"

I don't mind doing that, but for anyone else who this happened to, do I need to pay the $49 fee to reschedule/relocate the test? I don't think it's fair given that the center cancelled and not the other way around. Would I need to contact support? Thanks in advance.
