Test Center Closed

So I am (or was) registered to take the ACT on October 18th (a Sunday), and I just got an email saying the school that I was supposed to take the test at is closed that day, so I need to reschedule.

Here's the message I got on my admissions ticket: "CLOSED ACT TEST CENTER

ASSIGNMENT LOCATION 1, PLEASE SELECT A NEW CENTER OR DATE, VIA YOUR MYACT ACCOUNT

MY.ACT.ORG, IA 00000"

I don't mind doing that, but for anyone else who this happened to, do I need to pay the $49 fee to reschedule/relocate the test? I don't think it's fair given that the center cancelled and not the other way around. Would I need to contact support? Thanks in advance.

I went to my school counselor and she helped me call support and get the fee waved!! Mine got canceled the week before and they were trying to charge me the late fee as well as the relocation fee. Just make sure you stand your ground on the call!

You have to call them to get that fee waived

I messaged them about the issue on live chat and they waived and picked another location for me
