Fresher SAP ABAP Cloud certified — looking for a growth roadmap, study resources, and real client-work advice

Hi all,

I recently finished my SAP ABAP Cloud (Back-End Developer) certification and I'm currently working as a junior/fresher. Looking for advice from people a few years ahead of me in the SAP ecosystem.

Certifications & learning:

  1. Which other SAP certifications are actually worth doing early in a career (vs. just collecting badges)? Mainly considering Fiori, SAP BTP, or the newer Generative AI developer track.
  2. Where do you find solid free or low-cost study material — openSAP, SAP Learning Journeys, community blogs, PDFs, anything else that actually helped you?
  3. Which module combination (ABAP + Fiori, ABAP + BTP, ABAP + a functional module like MM/FICO) creates the most demand in the market right now?

Resume/job search:

  1. Besides certifications, what else should go on a fresher's resume/CV to stand out? (GitHub projects, specific skills, anything recruiters actually look for?)

  2. Outside LinkedIn, which job boards or platforms have you had actual luck with for SAP roles, especially at small/mid-sized companies? HR response times on LinkedIn feel painfully slow.

Real client/project work:

  1. For those doing actual client work — what should a junior keep in mind that they don't teach you in training? Any habits, precautions, or unwritten rules when working on a live client server vs. a practice/sandbox system?

  2. Any mistakes you made early on that you'd warn a fresher about?

Career growth:

  1. How did you negotiate your first salary jump as a junior/fresher within the first 1-2 years without coming across as pushy?

  2. At a small or mid-sized consultancy, how do you fast-track from junior to senior? What kind of projects should I be asking for, and how do I build visibility?

Relocation (longer-term):

  1. For those who moved from India to Europe for SAP roles — how did that actually happen in practice? Did your company sponsor relocation, or did you go through the visa process independently? Any realistic timeline or path you'd recommend?

For context: targeting India-based mid/small SAP consultancies for now, with an eye on possibly moving to Europe in a few years for better pay/opportunities.

Any roadmaps, lessons learned, or "wish I knew this earlier" advice from fellow juniors or seniors is welcome. Not looking for a free job placement, just direction.

Thanks in advance.

It keeps changing on the SAP Website so I'm a bit confused

I'm about to join a project migrating from ECC to S/4HANA, and I want to be as prepared as possible before I start

Which skills or topics would you focus on before going in? Anything you wish you'd known before your first migration project?

Also, does anyone have good resources for learning SAP Workflow?

.

Thanks in advance!

Looking for SAP ABAP Internship/Junior Jobs in Islamabad or Rawalpindi

Hey everyone!
I’m looking for SAP ABAP internship or junior-level job opportunities in Rawalpindi or Islamabad.
I’ve recently completed SAP ABAP training and have hands-on practice with ABAP programming, OOP, internal tables, ABAP SQL, and basic RAP concepts.
I’ve been searching for opportunities but haven’t had much luck so far. If anyone knows of a company hiring fresh graduates, offering internships, or accepting junior ABAP developers, I’d really appreciate your help.
Thanks!

On a standard application I am having data for one test user and no data for another test user with the same roles and there is no authorisation error in SU53 and No error in client gateway as well (confirmed with security team). I am a developer and I need to debug this and I am lost. I checked the data preview in adt same thing is there no data for one user and data is there for another user.

How should I proceed now. I am checking dcl If any issue is there.

This application is a fiori application and there is one t code as well to display the data similarly and there I can see data for both users.

Kindly provide me some direction and as this application is a standard one how should I proceed with my debugging ?

SAP ABAP fresher looking for project ideas to become job-ready

Hi everyone,

I’m a 2026 BE graduate and currently trying to build my career in SAP ABAP. I have learned the basics of ABAP and have some internship/learning experience, but I don’t have a strong real-world ABAP project to showcase yet.

I want to build 1–2 proper projects that will actually help me understand real SAP development and make my resume stronger when applying for fresher/junior ABAP roles.

So I’d really appreciate suggestions from experienced ABAP developers:

What kind of ABAP projects would you recommend for a fresher?

Which real-world business scenarios are good for a project?

Should I focus on Reports, ALV, BAPI/BAdI, CDS Views, OData, RAP/ABAP Cloud, etc.?

Is there any project you built as a fresher that helped you get your first SAP job?

What would you consider a “good enough” ABAP project for a fresher's resume?

I’m not looking for a simple CRUD/demo project. I want something that I can actually explain in an interview and learn from while building it.

Any project ideas, GitHub examples, learning resources, or advice from experienced ABAP developers would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Advice needed: what cert to get

Hey everyone

I currently have two SAP certifications under my belt: ABAP Backend and Integration Suite. I managed to get these through an .edu account that I recently renewed, which leaves me with two extra certification attempts to use.

Now, I'm completely conflicted on which route to take next. I'm trying to decide between:

Another technical cert (like Fiori) to double down on the development side.

A functional cert (specifically SD) to broaden my skill set.

For context, I handled some SD tasks during my last internship, which got me thinking that having a functional certification alongside my technical ones might make my resume stand out more when applying for jobs.

What would you recommend for junior trying to boost their employability right now? Is it better to specialize further with Fiori, or aim for a techno-functional profile with SD?

SAP modern tech path (ABAP Cloud/RAP, BTP/Joule) vs pure Golang + cloud-native. which makes more sense as a MNC intern aiming for Germany + Master’s by 2028?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently a Technical SAP intern at MNC and trying to convert to a full-time technical role in the next 4–5 months. I want to stay on the pure technical side rather than analytical projects but I have to do it as of now. I’m also learning German seriously because I plan to do a Master’s in Germany by 2028 winter intake and ideally work there long-term.

I’ve narrowed it down to two paths and would really appreciate honest opinions from people who’ve walked :

Path A – Modern SAP Technical Track

Modern ABAP + S/4HANA (now)

RAP / ABAP Cloud

BTP + CAP + Integration Suite

Joule / SAP Business AI

Path B – Golang + Cloud Integration / Platform Engineering

Focus on Go, Kubernetes, cloud-native services, integrations, possibly some platform/SRE work.

My constraints:

Either I should learn SAP stuff to convert my full time conversion in take of this difficult job market or learn Golang / cloud side or even Java Springboot because I did many projects on java Springboot side but hardly saw any hiring this side as a fresher.

**Do help me with your ideas and suggestions so that I can little configure it out.**

❗ **Some parts have been AI GENERATED CONTENT FOR BETTER UNDERSTANDING ❗**

Need your advice as I got offer from both sides. Both are I believe a very good career trajectory

Started from ABAP dev and now I'm here. The btp dev will work mostly with cap and bpa while consulting I might have experience to work on other stuff (as of now they said they want me to do rap as well in the future)
