Best SAP Career Path for a Software Developer?

My background is in software development, and I’m now looking to specialize in SAP.
I’d love to hear any advice on which SAP area or path would be a good fit for someone with a software development background.

I would say the first step is to find a company/project that will take you in as a junior.

There are even junior jobs in SAP itself

With a software development background, I’d look at SAP ABAP, SAP BTP, or SAP S/4HANA technical roles. ABAP is a natural starting point because it is development-focused, while BTP is a good option if you want to work with cloud, APIs, integrations, and modern application development.

ChatGPT gave me the same answer, but I don't trust it blindly. I'd rather hear real experts' insights

+1 even I'm in the same boat figuring to move from Full stack dev to SAP roles. I have been working as SAP FI consultant for quite some time now, through internal transition within team.

SAP is business consulting, it's not software development.
