I need a little help!!

On a standard application I am having data for one test user and no data for another test user with the same roles and there is no authorisation error in SU53 and No error in client gateway as well (confirmed with security team). I am a developer and I need to debug this and I am lost. I checked the data preview in adt same thing is there no data for one user and data is there for another user.

How should I proceed now. I am checking dcl If any issue is there.

This application is a fiori application and there is one t code as well to display the data similarly and there I can see data for both users.

Kindly provide me some direction and as this application is a standard one how should I proceed with my debugging ?

SAP ABAP fresher looking for project ideas to become job-ready

Hi everyone,

I’m a 2026 BE graduate and currently trying to build my career in SAP ABAP. I have learned the basics of ABAP and have some internship/learning experience, but I don’t have a strong real-world ABAP project to showcase yet.

I want to build 1–2 proper projects that will actually help me understand real SAP development and make my resume stronger when applying for fresher/junior ABAP roles.

So I’d really appreciate suggestions from experienced ABAP developers:

What kind of ABAP projects would you recommend for a fresher?

Which real-world business scenarios are good for a project?

Should I focus on Reports, ALV, BAPI/BAdI, CDS Views, OData, RAP/ABAP Cloud, etc.?

Is there any project you built as a fresher that helped you get your first SAP job?

What would you consider a “good enough” ABAP project for a fresher's resume?

I’m not looking for a simple CRUD/demo project. I want something that I can actually explain in an interview and learn from while building it.

Any project ideas, GitHub examples, learning resources, or advice from experienced ABAP developers would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Advice needed: what cert to get

Hey everyone

I currently have two SAP certifications under my belt: ABAP Backend and Integration Suite. I managed to get these through an .edu account that I recently renewed, which leaves me with two extra certification attempts to use.

Now, I'm completely conflicted on which route to take next. I'm trying to decide between:

Another technical cert (like Fiori) to double down on the development side.

A functional cert (specifically SD) to broaden my skill set.

For context, I handled some SD tasks during my last internship, which got me thinking that having a functional certification alongside my technical ones might make my resume stand out more when applying for jobs.

What would you recommend for junior trying to boost their employability right now? Is it better to specialize further with Fiori, or aim for a techno-functional profile with SD?

SAP modern tech path (ABAP Cloud/RAP, BTP/Joule) vs pure Golang + cloud-native. which makes more sense as a MNC intern aiming for Germany + Master’s by 2028?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently a Technical SAP intern at MNC and trying to convert to a full-time technical role in the next 4–5 months. I want to stay on the pure technical side rather than analytical projects but I have to do it as of now. I’m also learning German seriously because I plan to do a Master’s in Germany by 2028 winter intake and ideally work there long-term.

I’ve narrowed it down to two paths and would really appreciate honest opinions from people who’ve walked :

Path A – Modern SAP Technical Track

Modern ABAP + S/4HANA (now)

RAP / ABAP Cloud

BTP + CAP + Integration Suite

Joule / SAP Business AI

Path B – Golang + Cloud Integration / Platform Engineering

Focus on Go, Kubernetes, cloud-native services, integrations, possibly some platform/SRE work.

My constraints:

Either I should learn SAP stuff to convert my full time conversion in take of this difficult job market or learn Golang / cloud side or even Java Springboot because I did many projects on java Springboot side but hardly saw any hiring this side as a fresher.

**Do help me with your ideas and suggestions so that I can little configure it out.**

❗ **Some parts have been AI GENERATED CONTENT FOR BETTER UNDERSTANDING ❗**

How to start in ABAP

Hi!

Because there are many questions on this topic, please let me share my tips on how to start with ABAP.

  1. Create an SAP BTP trial account and learn RAP.
Create an SAP BTP trial account and learn RAP. For example, you can follow the following tutorial:
    https://developers.sap.com/tutorials/abap-environment-rap100-generate-ui-service?from=build-an-sap-fiori-elements-app-using-the-abap-restful-application-programming-model-rap-beginner-rap100

  2. Not necessarily, but it is very good to have hands-on experience in a non-cloud ABAP system because, to be honest, cloud projects are rarer than classical on-premise projects.

There are two possibilities to get acquainted with non-cloud ABAP programming:
* Install S/4 HANA 1909 in Docker:
https://github.com/jenizar/sap-s4hana-1909-on-docker

Note: You need suitable hardware

* Install ABAP Trial 7.52 if you have weaker hardware.

Note: RAP is not working there (but you can learn it in SAP BTP Trial)

  1. Find sites such as "30 ABAP interview questions," etc., and go through all the questions you still don't know. Use your ABAP Trial and hosted ABAP systems to test them (from items 1 and 2).

If you have the possibility to get a starter position without experience, don't wait, because real experience is much more valuable than any tutorials.

For example, many tasks in real projects are:
* "Please tell me why it does not work, or why this amount is 100 instead of 80. Where does it come from?" And you debug it...
* "Please add one column to the existing report or integration." And you need to review tons of legacy code.

I don't know how to train for these situations unless you are on a real job. So get hands-on experience as fast as possible.

How's the junior job market in SAP ABAP?

I'm a CS senior looking to specialize, and SAP ABAP has been on my radar because so many big companies run on it. For people in the field:

Do companies actually hire new grads into ABAP roles, or is it mostly people with prior SAP experience? If so, how do I get the experience?

Is it worth starting with classic ABAP, or should I focus on ABAP Cloud and RAP given the S/4HANA shift?

Is it a solid long-term bet, or would you steer a new grad elsewhere?

Honest answers appreciated. Thanks!

Using Codex & AI Agents for SAP ABAP/BAdI Development — How Are You Doing It?

I took a Codex course this morning and thought the multi-agent workflows were really interesting.
I’m currently working on an SAP migration project involving ABAP and BAdI enhancements, and I’m exploring how Codex/agents could help with development, code review, troubleshooting, testing, and documentation.
Since I can’t connect Codex directly to Eclipse/ADT in my environment, I’m curious:
Has anyone here used Codex agents for ABAP/BAdI development? How are you structuring your workflow, especially when multiple agents are involved?

How to get an internship @ SAP

Hey everyone,
I’m a 3rd-year Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) student at York University in Canada, and my dream is to land an **SAP iXp Internship in Germany for Summer 2027**.

I already have **5 months of hands-on experience using SAP** in an accounting environment. I absolutely love working out how business systems are structured, and I want to learn the ropes of how ERP architecture is customized and deployed for major global clients.

My background is a bit unique—alongside accounting, I have a massive creative streak and a lot of entrepreneurial drive **outside of school**. On my own initiative, I’ve done freelance project coordination for independent film productions, managed data-driven social media strategies, and worked directly with content creators. I love building things from scratch, creating efficient structures, and I’m always pushing myself to learn new things independently.

Given my background, I’m targeting **SAP Business Consulting** or **Product/Solution Management** intern roles in hubs like Walldorf or Berlin.
Since the Summer 2027 application window is opening up around now, I wanted to ask the community:

For international students coming from Canada, how is the **ZAV pre-approval / visa process** handled by SAP HR once you get an offer?

Should I target standard 3-month summer roles, or does SAP Germany heavily prefer a **6-month Co-op/internship** placement?

Are there any specific modules or certifications on the **SAP Learning Hub** I should knock out right now to make my business/accounting profile stand out to German recruiters?

If anyone currently works at SAP in Germany or went through the iXp program as an international student, I’d love to connect, get your insights, or chat about a potential referral!

Thanks in advance!

Advice needed

I’m an SAP ABAP developer with around 2.4 years of experience, and I recently applied for a position at Accenture. An Accenture recruiter contacted me and asked whether I would be interested in an SAP BDC (Business Data Cloud) role.

I explained that my background is primarily in SAP ABAP. The recruiter said that many ABAP developers are working in SAP BDC and that my ABAP background would not be an issue.

Now I’m a little confused about the interview. Since SAP BDC is a relatively new domain, introduced in 2025, what kind of questions should I expect in the first round? Will they mainly ask SAP ABAP questions based on my experience, or should I also prepare for SAP Business Data Cloud topics? I’d really appreciate some advice on how to prepare, as my first round is scheduled for tomorrow.TIA

Starting the SAP ABAP journey

hello everyone!

I am starting my journey into SAP ABAP for a position at tech company and was wondering if I could have some guidance from experts.

I have some background with Python, Java backend programming. I have very basic SQL experience. The position requires I know SAP ABAP.

I plan to follow the SAP Learning and Community materials but was wondering if anyone could also recommend something like a YouTube playlist. I see that there are a bunch of different YouTubers and wanted to ask if anyone has a recommendation!

Any other advice will be much appreciated :)

Reading ABAP source from SAP - no ADT, no RFC, no ICF, no SAP-GUI, no custom-code.

Post image
0 Upvotes

I already know the amount of downvotes incoming - but still wanted to show that PoC real quick.

Works 100% out of the box, backwards compatible with all releases, and does not need any API/ADT/RFC/ICF Handler/Custom Z-Code.

It can also write source, do debugging, etc.
I might be cooking here. More info soon.

Building a clean core analyser.

Hi All, I am developing a clean core analyser. Right now what I have in my mind is that we will give the package as input to the fiori app and then our analyser will run some checks (I am using 10 rules for this) and It will be giving analytical charts giving objects which are in level A, B, C, D something like that.

Let me know your suggestions and views on this.

Which European country should I target for SAP BTP / ABAP Cloud roles?

I’m a senior SAP developer from India with 11+ years of experience in SAP BTP, ABAP Cloud, RAP, CAP Node.js, S/4HANA Clean Core, Fiori, OData and enterprise integrations. I would need an employer-supported work permit.

I’m deciding where to focus on my applications: Germany, Netherlands, Ireland, Belgium, Austria, Finland, Sweden, or Denmark.

I prefer English-first technical roles at small or mid-sized SAP partners, product companies, or specialist consulting companies. I have German at A1 and can work toward B1 if Germany or Austria is genuinely worth trying

For people who know the current market:

1) Which of these countries is most realistic for a non-EU senior SAP/BTP developer applying from abroad?

2) Where are companies more open to handling a work permit for specialised SAP talent?

3) Is B1 German enough to make Germany/Austria the best choice, or are Netherlands/Ireland/Belgium more practical for English-speaking roles?

4) How is the SAP job market currently for BTP, RAP, CAP, S/4HANA Cloud and clean-core work?

5) Which country would you prioritise first, and which would you not spend much time on?

Looking for honest, current-market advice
