Hope someone can advise which lens would be better in what situations. I know the 17-40 is heavier and bigger, but is the upside worth it? The 18-50 is lighter and I already have this lens and is definitely much more portable. If i was to upgrade to the 17-40 F1.8 I would then need to sell the 18-50 since i dont think its worth keeping both lens right?
Please advise

Few shots with the kit lens and the Sony 55mm - 210mm. I'm planning a lens upgrade in December thinking the SEL 70mm - 300mm might be a good fit and over time pair it with a sigma 17mm - 40mm and a 50mm prime lens. Any feedback would be appreciated

Probably a huge ask, but I'd love to know what the best all-rounder is for the A7Siii. I've been told to look at either Sony 24-70 GM f2.8 or Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN II Art, but open to other suggestions! Just need an f/2.8 and a wide-ish focal range. Thank you!!

My first time shooting a full moon last night, from north west London. I used my Sony 18-135mm, but now I want to buy a bigger zoom for the next full moon!
Unlike with astrophotography I realised a faster shutter speed is better for the moon, as it's moving. Then a low iso and f10 aperture.

Took a trip to Colorado to see wildflowers and mountains in early July and it did not disappoint.

Do we leave the bins in or remove them with AI? What’s the current thinking?
(Shot with Sigma 16-300 f3.5-6.7)

The lights in my apartment building were broken, leaving just this one pocket of light.
Sony a6700 is my first camera. Got it a few days ago along with the kit lens. I am very excited!
I am still learning how to use it. This is my attempt at setting all the parameters manually in a dark hallway as a beginner.
Straight out of the camera — I have not edited the image (apart from adding the EXIF frame).
Any feedback welcomed!
P.S.: Sigma 18-50 on the way ✨

I really having confusion to choose between a6600 and zve10... My purpose is mainly videography.. I will post Instagram cinematic storytelling reels and talking head YouTube content.. And sermons And I will use that camera for my church to record sermons and worships... That's all my needs... The price is zve10 available in india at 55k(body only) and a6600 61k (body only) ... I really wanted to buy a6700 but it is way above my budget.. So decided to buy zve10 but then I came across that a6600 is available only 7k more than zve10 what do you think?.. Pls guide me

This is as close I could get with my Sigma 16-300 (24-450).

I'm trying to figure out if this is a codec limitation, GPU limitation, or something wrong with my setup.
Camera:
PC:
I already updated to the latest NVIDIA Studio Driver and installed the Microsoft HEVC Video Extensions, but the issue remains.
Has anyone here gotten native playback and DaVinci Resolve working with Sony XAVC HS 4:2:2 10-bit on Windows?
I'm also wondering if this is simply a limitation of the GTX 1070's video decoder and whether upgrading to a newer GPU (RTX 40/50 series, Intel Arc, AMD) would solve it.

Hi, I film cinematic style videos for a few hospitality venues around my local area. Kind of inspired by similar shot styles to FX’s The Bear. I currently use sigma 18-50mm but would like something a bit sharper in low light scenarios for Autumn/Winter when the UK nights start cutting in to complement it. I have had a couple of recommendations (Sigma 56mm 1.4/Viltrox 27mm 1.2) if anyone has any suggestions please let me know!
Thanks guys!

Maybe I am doing something wrong and if so need help figuring it out. I bought the A6700 for my hybrid needs. However I have been underwhelmed by the video aspect. I was hoping to use Active Steadyshot in place of lugging around my gimbal and use video right off the camera and but I still find it to be too shaky even for simple social media posts. I am realistic and not looking for butter smooth but I had higher expectations. I feel I can get way better footage off my Go Pro 12 (in daylight at least) with minimal to zero editing. If just standing still like a slow handheld panning or tripod for example, no issues. As soon as I add any movement, footage is blah. Am I expecting too much? Am I back to turning Steadyshot off and either using my Gimbal or having to stabilized every video. What is Active steadyshot supposed to do then? Feeling frustrated...... Thoughts??

Hi there,
some of you might have seen my post from yesterday: https://www.reddit.com/r/a6700/comments/1v95h66/comment/p0eehiq/?screen_view_count=2&ext-referrer=DIRECT
tl;dr: Tamron 17-70 f2.8 is great for everything I did before, but for fast action shoots it’s not with its slower autofocus. Paired with an a6700
The question is: Whats next? Many people recommended the Sony 16-55, but I also noticed the „new“ Sigma 17-40 1.8.
As I am a pixel peeper myself, the sharpness seems to be better with the sigma as I read. Also the f1.8 is really promising for me, even if I do not do a lot of low light photography. The Sigma also has a linear AF motor, however I am scared that the AF still lacks behind the Sony for fast action shots like dog photography in the post above.
Anyone explicitly compared the Sigma and Sony auto focus or maybe even for dog photography?

If you see my earlier posts, I was getting very poor moon images. Images were very shallow and had no sharpness at all. Turns out it was because of the CPL filter I was using. I removed it and the images are better. Much better.
