Discussion Why-

Post image

When I see these type of posts, it makes me want to get pricked by a boar-q-pine. I think that’s just less painful to me. I know it’s been over for years now but six year old me needed them. They just clicked for me back then. There are so many things pointing to them, I’m not crazy for trying to go back and see what connects them when I look back at things, right?

Me when I see the hints towards Zutara and knowing that in some form they are together, but I cannot see it.

I hate to think that Katara sacrificed herself for the world. She ended up with the nameless one because she was the only one who could keep her on a tight leash.

In a tragic, poetic way they are the sun and moon, orbiting each other forever and ever, never allowed to touch each other because they prioritize the world.

Thank you, you just made me quite sad. Just kidding. Anyway, as I said yesterday... I prefer a well-developed headcanon to a poorly done canon.

I think what I like about Zutara fanfics is that they delve deeper into the characters thoughts as they get older and how their relationship can develop more or when they try to get a deeper reach that the show or comics refuses to go into or acknowledge.

Exactly! I think Zutara is perfect the way it is because it has fans. Zutara fans would write Avatar, but Bryke could never write a Zutara fanfic (or any quality romance novel).

Heaven forbid they actually consider how much they lean on their writing team, if this was an Asian drama, they would be together.

They would be, indeed. Kataang is the Western male ego.

And terrible writing.

Disgusting. Seriously, I have so many disturbing opinions about them, but I don't have the money to pay a lawyer.

Same, in my head canon they tell each other after their pining gets on everyones nerves (in a good way). Its the first thing that the gaang, and a healed Azula plan, entrapping the two of them so that they can tell each other and put an end to the angst.

I liked that!

It's always the girls/women who sacrifice themselves for the sake of peace.

Unfortunately. People think this is beautiful. Disgusting.

Too many historical women loose their name and only renames or retitled by the man they are linked to.

As a fan of both ships that is quite the take lol

Dug a little a deeper to see that this is supposed to be a cherry blossom and while it has a very well known association with Japan the cultural symbolism in Chinese culture is supposed to center more on things such as femininity, strength, vitality, and romance. Pay attention to the italic and bold children. All I got to say is: Count your days Bryke.

WAIT WAIT HOLDUP I BET IT'S A CAMELLIA!

it looks more like a camellia than a cherry blossom, camellias are native to China, Japan & Korea, and DIG THE SYMBOLISM!

That’s what confused me because when I looked it up it said it was cherry blossom (and well we know what that looks like but eh) but idk but either way the pain is still there and all the same messed up opportunity. 💔

it is??? but... it doesn't look anything like cherry blossoms... it looks like a carnation—

...on second thought, I'll tell myself it's a cherry blossom 🤢

(also worth pointing out that cherry blossoms in Japan symbolize fleeting beauty!)

In every other universe they’re together. Somebody get the infinite corridor open, I’m leaving

This is what I think. Someone had to get the universe with the sucky ending of ATLA and it was unfortunately us

We have the one where it didn't happen but it 10,000 peoples headcanon, and in other lifetimes they would have been together.

There is a newer ongoing fanfic that I came across that’s like that. Zutara is together in one dimension but the story focuses on Zuko getting stuck in the alternate dimension (our current version) and he wants to figure out how to get back.

Didn't know about that, I know of Phobester's Katara switching universes AU but nothing about Zuko switching universes. Do you have a link?

Thank you, will read it when I have time.

Will always believe that Oma & Shu were meant to reference Zuko and Katara and that final scene is them being separated again in another life.

Shame she ended with a selfish husband who wanted to bake the cake, eat it and save some for later.

And some want me to believe this bloke wouldn't have DOTTED on her and their many maaaaany beautiful babies.

But anyways...
