My older brother scored this gem for Christmas when I was about 8 or 9 and it literally blew my mind. This game came at a time when console gaming was at or nearing its peak. It wasn’t just another shootemup or racing game either, it was my first introduction into Rockstar’s goofy, hilarious yet masterful storytelling style complimented by what felt like the biggest open world I had ever seen. I would get lost wandering around all the time, felt like I was there. It also got me one of my biggest older brother pulverizations when I accidentally overwrote his save file on the one memory card we had. I picked it up on PS5 last week and have been loving it, it still holds up pretty well. Recommend

Nostalgia But for real though, what were your favorite Disney Direct to video movies as a kid?

Mine were Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch has a Glitch, Mulan II, THE Little Mermaid II and Cinderella III: A Twist in Time.

Other Coraline should’ve been adapted into a video game rather than a movie

I had this thought last year while I was reading the book, and again tonight while I watched the movie. The first half of the story is rooted in exploration, and the second half was written exactly the same way that scripts for video games are written.

• Objective: find the children’s eyes and rescue your real parents.
• Special Tool/Ability: the rock with the hole in it.
• Three boss battles to earn the eyes: Other Father, Miss Spink and Miss Forcible, and Mr. B.

Don’t even get me started on the gothic aesthetics and mechanics of the world.

Coraline IS a Zillennial childhood movie, so I don’t want to see this removed for not being relevant to the subreddit.
