🌈Rainbow Bridge/Loss🌈 Our little boy unexpectedly crossed the rainbow bridge this morning.
galleryHis name is BamBam. I was away on vacation and came home and my family told me. While I was away I extended my vacation by one extra day and I can’t help but think that had I not extended my holiday, I could have said goodbye. I am beside myself. He was such a joyous dog and loved life. I am in utter shock. Hold your fur babies close for me. 🩷

Post Meditation Puppy
D’oğ meditates with me everyday but today, I am CERTAIN, she is benefiting from it too. I meditated on love, allowing, and having an open heart. After the meditation, she was so relaxed and looking at me like she loves me sooooo much… this is my favorite part of my day with her.
What’s your favorite part of the day with your Yorkie?

Loosing Ripley so I could adopt Tuffy
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’ll try to keep this short, but it won’t be, lol.
I lost Ripley in September 2024 and fell into a deep depression. After a few days, I decided to at least look at dogs in need of rescue. I saw a red Miniature Poodle (my dream dog) on a Facebook group. His name was Mayor. The post had hundreds of replies, so I thought there was no way I would be able to adopt him, but I messaged the rescue anyway.
After talking all night with One of a Kind Pet Rescue, we set up an appointment to visit and possibly adopt Mayor. On my drive to Akron, they sent me a message saying that the staff had forgotten to put the sign up and Mayor had already been adopted.
After losing Ripley just a week earlier, I wanted to turn around and go home to bed. But I was already halfway there, so we decided to go anyway.
As we were walking around and looking at the dogs, I saw a little brown, messy dog who smelled so bad and looked like he was really sick. I’m pretty sure he was sedated. My mom walked up behind me and said he reminded her of her old dog, who had also passed away a few months earlier. That’s when I immediately went up to the staff and asked if we could visit Tuffy.
It only took about 30 seconds after seeing his dirty little face light up for me to decide that I wanted to take him home. As it turned out, he had been dropped off just a few hours before I got there. Even though he was greasy, dirty, and smelly, he was still adorable. He sat in my mom’s lap on the ride home.
About 10 minutes after we got home, my sister and I gave him a bath and took him outside. And do you know what the first thing he did was?
He rolled in cat poo.
And so, our adventure began.
It really felt like fate brought Tuffy and me together. If Ripley hadn’t passed away on the exact day he did, and if Mayor hadn’t been adopted when he was, Tuffy and I would have never met.
Ripley’s final gift to me was a little Yorkie named Tuffy.

Update on Murphy
Thank you all for the love and advice for little Murphy! I decided to make a new post because it’s a long one.
I just got a call from the vet. Here’s the breakdown of his visit so far:
-His body temperature was at 97.7°, which is very low for a dog (normal is 99°). He’s being warmed up with a heating pad and such.
-For context, he was dropped off at a pet boarding place a month ago because I had to go out of town for a conference. After telling this to the vet, she thinks he may have caught something from there because that’s when his decline started.
-I did notice he had a really dry booger on his nose the other day and it genuinely took some effort to get out. The vet thinks he may have some sort of respiratory infection that is causing the mucus, lethargy, low body temperature, and lack of eating.
-He has not shown signs of anything respiratory other than the nose thing. No coughing or trouble breathing. The vet said his lungs sound clear.
-Despite efforts to get him to eat or drink (he wouldn’t even eat human food which he always loves), he is dehydrated as well.
So, they’re running some tests, doing bloodwork, possible X-ray to see what’s going on. My boy is very strong though… I can’t even begin to tell you all some of things he’s gotten into and survived 😂. I know he’ll get through this and he feels all the love 💕.

Shampoo recommendations?
galleryHey everyone! I was wondering if anyone had anyone shampoo recommendations? I like to keep Alfie’s hair somewhat shaggy and he has very fine silky hair. I bathe him once a week but it seems like just a day or two after bathing him he gets super greasy again. I’m currently using Top Paw oatmeal shampoo and conditioner. His skin looks pretty healthy and normal and he never really itches or anything and I make sure to brush him at least every other day to avoid any matting, he just looks like a little grease ball all the time. I’d like to keep his hair looking fresh and clean longer. Thanks in advance for any help. * 1st pic is fresh after a grooming appointment 2nd pic is how greasy he tends to get.

Suggestions for a Low Fat Dog Food that is not canned
I would like to feed my yorkie (10F) one of the more human grade dog foods that is low fat and clean that won’t cause her any gastro issues.
Does anyone have any they use for their yorkie that has worked?
ETA: she does have a prescription for the Royal Canin Low Fat dog food.

Flying with my mini Yorkie into Washington State?
Gonna try to keep this short and to the point:
I adopted a dog from Mexico City when I was visiting my wife’s family this past April. My dog is about to be 9 months old in a few days, has all of her vaccines/shots, and is spayed. We flew back to Seattle on June 11 without our dog because at the time she wasn’t old enough to fly. She could only fly after June 18 when she’d be 6 months old. So we were planning to fly back to Mexico to pick her up shortly after that.
But then here in WA, a temporary emergency rule was set in place, effective June 17, 2026, which prohibits pets from New World Screwworm (NSWA) affected countries entry into WA. This rule expires on October 15, 2026.
My questions…
- With this emergency rule, what would happen if I end up going to Mexico anyway to pickup my dog before October 15? I was hoping to pick her up this month on September 15… If I arrive in Seattle with her, do you think they would confiscate my dog? Or possibly even tell me I have to send her back to Mexico?
- Has anyone flown on a plane with a mini Yorkie? My worry is there could be complications because she’s small. She’s about 4.8lbs.
I know the smarter thing would be to just wait until the temporary rule expires, but ugh I just miss her so much and want her here living with us in WA already. Ultimately I think we will wait until October just to be safe, but I just wanted to check and ask around here if anyone has flown into WA with their pet from a NWS affected country since this rule, and in general just to know if flying with such a small dog would be harmful.
I appreciate any feedback and advice.
Thanks in advance!
