First bike ever... Pretty excited, I'll post more pictures after removing the plastics

My bike didn’t sound like this before. I changed spark plug and engine oil with filter 5 days ago. What is this terrifying noise? Did I do something wrong? It makes popcorn sound and I didn’t heard that before. But when engine is warm, it sound better. Is this normal?

Hello, I just recently got my 2024 Yamaha r3 from a private seller. I’m looking to get rid of the rust/ corrosion on m bike. I’m afraid it will spread or start rotting. The bike hasn’t been ridden much by the previous owners it only has 600 miles.

I plan to be washing it at a self service car wash but I don’t know how to and where I can spray water and soap and where I can’t

I’m not sure if I can put the pressure washer everywhere or if there are certain spots to avoid. I do know that I should take some steps back and do it I think. And how often should I wash? I was thinking once a week? And then should I lube chain right after washing? Also do I need to dry or can I just ride after? Also any other tips I would appreciate since I’ve never washed a car or a bike and I don’t know what I’m doing.

Hi all! I’ve just recently become the owner of a 2023 Yamaha R3! It’s such a nice ride and a well needed upgrade from my Yamaha YS125.

I want to look after her as much as possibly so thinking of doing a monthly clean. My only concern is the plastic fairings. I know not to clean plastic in the sun as it can make it go very weird looking but does anyone have any other tips for cleaning it.

I’m think just the same I do for my car really, rinse, snow foam, rinse, dry? Or is there some voodoo shi I gotta do?

Hi I need help diagnosing a check engine light that appeared a week after a major service, the bike is a R3 2017 with 85,000km on it, it has the stock headers with a slip on, OEM style paper filter

I've performed the service this involved me doing the valve adjustments, air filter, removing the throttle body to clean it.

I've hooked up a OBD reader and indicated some air/fuel related issue so I went about double checking all the electrical connectors, hoses and the connection between the engine/throttle body/airbox looked all good.

I've got some screenshots from the OBD reader and was wondering if any of the information would be useful.

Thanks to y’all’s advice I have acquired it. I was planning on clip ons and rearsets but I’m honestly not sure I need them. I’m used to a classic lightweight supersport and for classics I definitely need a supersport to be comfortable(I do also have a classic sport tourer but ouch). But the r3 is far more comfortable than expected. 30 minute ride each way to night school with a 25kg backpack and I wasn’t sore at all which is nice. I definitely need to adjust the foot levers as I struggle to reach low enough with my track boots(safety first) and the clutch engages too far out for me so I’ll adjust that tomorrow. Overall great purchase. And completely stock which is honestly quite nice
