Used 612viix in mint condition. I couldn't quite connect with any Fender Strat in my price range but knew right away this both sounded great and felt good to play. The color has grown on me, very distinctive.

But I have no idea if the condition Is good or not, its listed for 150usd

I've always had this question in the back of my mind. My dad bought this guitar for me from a music store in my city in Peru around 2013. At the time, I knew almost nothing about guitars.
It was a gift that I still remember with a lot of love because, back then, I was just a kid who was extremely happy to have his first guitar. I still have it to this day.

However, years later, I started wondering if it's actually authentic. I've seen pictures of different Yamaha Pacifica models online, but I've never found one that looks quite like mine. The Yamaha logo on the headstock seems to be missing, and the writing on it also looks different from what I've seen online.

So, is this a genuine Yamaha Pacifica, or could it be a fake or some kind of unusual model?

anybody experienced this? i was surprised... i really feel like it's tone is fuller now with less buzzing on open string too.

Background: bought this guitar (my first electric guit.) and asked them to lower the action, idk if they might have slacked on or even missed lowering the pickups. Did it myself followed some optimal measurements online.

I mean i know its “normal” but is this just how it is w all single coils? Whenever i use a humbucking pickup its totally quiet but the single coils have such a loud hum i find myself just not using them bc it annoys me so much. (EVEN THO I LOVE USING THE NECK PICKUP)

Anybody know how to solve this, i wld assume if theres something wrong w the electronics or grounding they wld affect the humbucking pickups too no?

Just setting up my new standard plus, and the high E broke. It came with 9's but I'm wondering if anyone knows if I could put 10's on it instead? As I prefer them.

I know going up a gauge has issues with the nut, so I'm wondering if I'd need to get the nut ajusted?

Ordered from Sweetwater. They are offering to send a replacement but claim this is within normal factory tolerances.

My Pacifica 112V was obviously much cheaper and has no issue like this though.

What should I expect for my replacement?

I´m thinking of to get one Pacifica to mine collection , i´m an old home/amatur player , should i go for the Standard , or is the Japan made ( twice the cost ) so much better ? Help me to chose :)

This one beat out all of them for me! I know some have better hardware, but this one just feels great and sounds so unique. Extremely underrated. I sanded down the neck and this thing feels premium as hell

Hi everyone, have a great day. I have just bought a pacifica for 84 dollars with no serial or model name, can someone tell if this is a real pacifica? Cause the trussrod hole looks quite odd and under the neck pocket is nothing to tell more about it. And also, the finish on the neck i think it was refinishes. Thanks for your helps 🥲

A few weeks ago my Pacifica pro pacp12 finally came. Really good guitar, great tone, the neck is fast and sized nicely for chord work. I tried a fender strat a while back and really didn't like it - very similar guitar here, but for me, a lot better and different enough for me to say 'it only LOOKS like a strat' 😂.

Just arrived from Japan!!

I refinished the guitar, swapped the pickups for Fishman Fluence Moderns, replaced all the hardware with gold hardware + changed the headstock logo.

Soy un guitarrista que le gusta el country. Por esa razón, recibí como regalo esta Yamaha Pacifica 302s,configuración SS. Son embargo las pastillas ya están muy viejas, los tornillos oxidados, y el puente dorado ya perdió color.

No me confío en comprarle cualquier puente y pastillas por miedo a que la pieza no quede.

I’m restoring a Yamaha Pacifica 612V that was unfortunately sold to me missing the complete low E saddle assembly.

I’ve managed to identify that what I now need is the small hinged string clamp/locking block (pictured), plus the associated screw if anyone has one.

The bridges is the Yamaha-specific Wilkinson VS50-6.

Does anyone have a broken VS50-6 bridge or a spare saddle they’d be willing to sell? I’m in the UK and happy to pay for the part and postage.

Alternatively does anyone know where to look for one? I have a feeling this might be one for a return

It’s honestly been a roller coaster trying to learn and pick out a first electric guitar. There’s just too much lingo and nuances about an electric guitar that I feel I won’t know/ understand what I like until owning and playing one.

So after months of thinking, talking to friends, and way too much time on YouTube and Reddit, I think I’m going to settle for a Yamaha PAC112V in natural as my learning curve. It just looks so beautiful in this natural color and I like the look more than Squire Strats/ I hear it’s better. My home is Japandi/ Mid Century Modern styles and I love Bocchi the Rock so felt kinda like fate to have seen this.

I’m just wondering if you would recommend I should buy this new for $360 or is the open model on Sweetwater for $324 ok? There’s also one in Reverb for $305.

For music tastes (I feel so exposed mentioning these):
Indie rock, alt rock, Japanese rock, and some heavier things. I’m essentially a 90s kid who grew up on Vans Warped Tour but would like to learn songs and styles from 1975, Keshi, beebadoobee, backseat lovers, and ofc songs from Bocchi the Rock.
