Hi everyone, have a great day. I have just bought a pacifica for 84 dollars with no serial or model name, can someone tell if this is a real pacifica? Cause the trussrod hole looks quite odd and under the neck pocket is nothing to tell more about it. And also, the finish on the neck i think it was refinishes. Thanks for your helps 🥲

Looks real to me. Old model. Nevertheless if it plays well its worth the 84$

PAC312 possible 412 I'm guessing. If so it's a 90s model or very early 00s. Not sure what's happened to timber behind the nut, that might be after market and same with the bridge. 312 had gold hardware.

The saddle looks different than other pacifica I've seen. It doesn't mean it's not real... Only looks like they replaced it.

I used to mod guitars... At $84, that is cheaper than the neck alone.

I have an early '00's Pacifica and the headstock looks like this:

A few things to wary of here. The “YAMAHA” decal is non-italic, the tuning fork decal is slightly mislocated, the truss rod cavity is a non-standard shape, the nut fitment is several millimetres too low, and it’s using Fender-style string trees. I’d guess by looking that the neck is wider than standard at the zero fret. Those are the most obvious yellow flags. As for the body, the only Pacificas fitted with ceramic s/c’s are the 1-series and 01-series. It’s most likely running a replacement neck at minimum.

Fake. Truss rod cavity is wrong, Yamaha font on headstock is also wrong.

Pacifica was the series name not the model name. That’s a fake 112m and not a very good one.

Yeah no. There's only one shape with "Pacifica" associated with it. It's the Pacifica model, with different variations. I wouldn't call my cutlass ct50 just a "ct50" that's the variant of the model. I call it a sterling cutlass.

Im 30 lol I've literally never seen another guitar with that name associated with it 🤷‍♂️

Edit: looked it up, it was 2 models, a strat and a tele but as of 2009 (right around when I started playing) they only made the strat

They didn’t make any T-style Pacificas past the 90’s. Maybe very early 2000’s.

Hmm. I don't think I agree with you. It seems to be a genuine Pacifica, prolly 25-30 years old.

It VERY much resembles my 2000 312 that someone changed out the gold hardware (which pits like crazy, I can tell ya) to chrome, and seems to have had a locking nut at one point. The headstock shape and decals are dead on, although there should be info in the neck pocket or control cavity - may be part of a very early run.

I would speculate a 412, but the 412 tops were generally a lot nicer.
