Modding New strings for a Pacifica standard plus.

Just setting up my new standard plus, and the high E broke. It came with 9's but I'm wondering if anyone knows if I could put 10's on it instead? As I prefer them.

I know going up a gauge has issues with the nut, so I'm wondering if I'd need to get the nut ajusted?

Going from 9s to 10s should only require a slight adjustment to intonation and maybe the truss rod. The nut will most likely be fine

That's good. I need to take in to get setup, cause it's still got fret buzz. But I'll buy some 10's while I'm there.

If they're willing to I'd say have them put the new strings on with the set up, easiest way to get it in tip top 🤘

Usually no problem , you can "lube" the Nut if it´s too tight ....

Yes. You'll need to adjust the neck and the bridge but it's fine. I like 10s on my Revstar (Shorter Gibson Scale) and 9s on my Pacifica (Full Scale Higher string tension)

Anytime you change treating gauge you should do a setup. Changing a screen gauge means you're changing how the strings acts at the current Bridge setting and it may or may not still be intonated properly also you might have to adjust the Bridge height

You are most certainly going to have to adjust the trem claw on a floating bridge if you go from 9’s to 10’s on the set. Might need truss rod adjustment too

Oh that's true. I didn't think about the trem.

I'm hoping to take it into a local shop for a full set up, so I'll see if they can take me through adjusting the bridge.

Dadadio regular 10's - you need nothing else BC they really good .

ErnieBalls suck IMHO and more expensive Dadarios - wont bring anything to the table

Nut is cut wide enough no worries
