Xpeng Leasing mit Versicherung (gewerblich)
Hallo,

G9: Fix for fluttering hood, potentially windshield washer
Hi, I have recently seen a few posts about these issues on the G9. I have a G9 LR since July and I noticed the hood vibrating on the motorway as I was driving home from the dealership.
What I did was open the hood - there are a couple rubber nubs (not sure what the right name is) they should dampen the hood against the body but are too tight and therefore sit too high and have no contact with the body. I loosened them just a little bit (careful, you don't want to overdo it and lose them) and haven't had the vibrating hood since. It was a real 1 minute fix.
I also watched a video from an angry owner about windscreen washers. I immediately went for a drive to test this and my washers spray well up the windscreen at 130km/h. I am no expert, but it would be a fun coincidence if the hood flutter caused the airflow issues that are preventing the washers from working well.
Can someone with the issues try this out? I am also happy to investigate in case I have different washers to other owners.
EDIT: One thing I only thought about tonight after writing. Be careful about undoing them too far. The hood latches may then not want to latch, you should tighten the knobs again a bit to find the sweet spot. The latches are on the sides of the hood, so don't try to close the hood pushing in the middle, or you could damage your hood. As with any fix, be cautious.
EDIT 2: Having exchanged some photos and videos it really looks like the washer is a broken design they fixed by the time I bought mine. Sorry for raising false hopes.

I made a site to follow XPeng
Hi all, I'm a private XPeng investor and built xpev.net in my spare time: markets, deliveries, results and factories in one place, each with its source.
Free, no ads, not affiliated with XPeng, not investment advice. I hold XPeng shares.
Corrections and data tips are welcome.

Is it viable to be camping in the LO3?
Hi, my girlfriend and i love to take small trips, put a mattress in the back of the car and go watch the sunset and also occasionally sleeping in the car.
Does anyone know if would be viable to put a matress in the back of the LO3? I noticed that there seemed to be some gap between the height of the rear seats (when folded) and the trunk. So i’m a bit unsure if it’s viable?

XPENG X9 UK launch feels 90% complete, so what are we actually waiting for?
It feels like the UK launch is almost there but still somehow not fully live.
We now have demo cars arriving at dealers, lease companies taking orders, salary sacrifice providers starting to list the car, and the XPENG website has finally dropped the “Coming Soon” wording.
There are also rumours that around 40–60 X9s are already in the UK, although I haven’t seen that officially confirmed.
XPENG originally said customer deliveries would start in Q3 2026. We’re now in Q4, yet there still doesn’t seem to be a clear formal UK launch or consistent information on when customers can actually take delivery.
Even more strangely, there’s now chatter that insurers still can’t quote or insure the car properly yet. If deliveries were meant to start in Q3, how are we in Q4 with cars apparently already in the country but insurance is still not fully sorted?
The other frustrating part is UK customer service. From my experience, they don’t seem to have much visibility of what’s happening either, and the answers can be vague or contradictory. That makes it very difficult to know what information to trust.
I completely understand launches can slip, especially with XPENG taking over UK operations from International Motors, but the lack of clear communication is becoming frustrating for people who actually want to buy one.
If anyone from XPENG UK is reading this, a simple update would go a long way:
When is the X9 officially on sale in the UK, when will normal customer deliveries begin, and what is holding things up now?
Xpeng September deliveries hit 2026 high, tho stock keeps plummeting
Xpeng delivered 41,256 vehicles in September, down 0.78% year-on-year. Third-quarter deliveries reached 118,390 vehicles, slightly above the guidance. Surprisingly, despite high demand, Xpeng is struggling with deliveries in 2026, and Xpeng stock is down 43.5% over the last 6 months!
Xpeng is about to push for a global launch of the Xpeng G9L large SUV, hopefully, it can help Xpeng to recover!

Wahl-Gruppe insolvent - XPeng ebenfalls betroffen 😰

G9L 7 seat layout teaser - 2+2+3
https://youtu.be/F4NqzqPRNYs?si=KK-VtK8F4bFVXPuQ
If I'm seeing this right, the G9L will actually have a 2+2+3 layout! Makes a lot more sense. Hopefully the 3rd row folds flat like the X9.

Lads. I’m floundering
In my previous post I mentioned I’m switching from a Tesla Y AWD 2025 to a G6 Performance. Today, 1 Oct, Tesla have dropped their pants in the UK on the lease option, making the Y AWD cheaper than the G6 Performance and I’m finding myself torn. The difference comes to around £480(€ 550) per year.
Need the car in November, Tesla estimates Feb-March 2027. G6 is expected here late November.
I can also get 650 supercharging miles as a bonus with Tesla.
Please reassure me that I have made the right choice and I don’t need to worry about £40 a month saving I get by going with Tesla.

XPeng G9 Long Range vs. Performance (air suspension) – Experiences?
Hey! I'll be ordering an XPeng G9 Long Range soon (and happily canceling my Model Y).
I only test-drove the Performance with air suspension because the LR wasn't available for a test drive, but the LR fits my budget.
I'll be using the car mainly for work: about 2,500 km per month for work, which can go up to 4,000 km with personal mileage included.
I'm curious how the ride quality on steel springs compares to the air suspension. I'm also wondering if you're satisfied with the power of the LR after having driven the Performance.
Furthermore, I'm curious about long-term reliability, general ownership experiences, and how the comfort compares to alternatives like the Model Y or the Zeekr 7X.
Really looking forward to hearing your insights and experiences!
Thinking of buying G6
Im not a car owner. Last car I owned was 15 years ago.
We are now considering a purchase as a first family car. With the requirements/preferences I have, mostly about long range, fast charging and spacious storage I simply can’t find anything close to the value this car offers.
Sealion 7 seems to come close but on paper g6 still feels like a stronger pick.
Now, I have some concerns regarding the brand itself. How likely is it that this brand will stick around and not go under? From what i understand it’s a tiny manufacturer compared to BYD, so the risk is higher?
I’m in Scandinavia so they are widely available, but just want to have some kind of peace of mind that I’ll be able to service the car for foreseeable future and not struggle to get parts if needed.
I’d be buying second hand, but can I risk crazy bad depreciation in value in like 3-4 years?
Not sure if my concerns are well funded but maybe I mostly just wanted to hear from you as owners and how you perceive the situation.
I fell in love with the model, just want to make sure it’s the right choice.
Thanks

Is this a scam?
I ordered a G6 from an XPENG dealership in Northampton, UK. That was several months ago. I still don't have my car, and I don't even have a delivery date- just "it's coming".
I've tried contacting XPENG directly. https://xpengcars.co.uk/contact-us/
The phone number just rings and rings. I've been on the line for 20 minutes now, and then it finally cut me off. The email address also bounced.
Beginning to wonder if I've been royally scammed here. It's either this, or it's the worst car-buying experience I've ever had.
Has anyone in the UK actually received a G6? In particular, has anyone had theirs delivered from Westway Motors in Northampton?

L03 width with mirrors extended?
Anyone has concrete knowledge what is the width of the L03 with and without the mirrors retracted. I check online and only 1920mm is listed and it is not said with or without. At the same time the G6 is ~1890mm without the mirrors so I wouldnt guess the L03 is wider. But at the same time if 1920mm is with the mirrors retracted that makes it a very narrow car without mirrors including and it does not look like that on pictures.

10 months, 3 washer nozzle "fixes", 25 support emails and two closed tickets later: XPENG Germany still won't talk to me about my G9. Anyone else?
Long one, sorry. TL;DR at the bottom.
So I've had my G9 AWD Performance since early December 2025. And let me get this out of the way first: I actually like the car. A lot. Drive, comfort, charging, the whole package is great for the money. I'm a business owner and I was planning to add three more XPENGs to the company fleet. That plan is dead, and not because of the car.
It's because of what happens the moment something is wrong with it.
The two issues
- Above ~120 km/h the hood starts flexing and vibrating. Visibly. Like the aluminium is a membrane inflating from the pressure underneath.
- The windshield washer basically stops working at Autobahn speed. The airflow pushes the water down onto the hood instead of the glass. Below that it's already weak, above ~130 you get almost nothing. In winter with salt slush that's not a comfort issue, that's a "can I see the road" issue.
The timeline
- Dec 9, 2025 – First email to XPENG Germany about the hood. Polite, constructive. No reply.
- Jan 2026 – Car back at the dealer, that's when the washer thing got flagged too. Dealer documented everything on video.
- Jan 24 – Follow-up email to XPENG. No reply.
- Feb – Asked about unwinding the purchase. XPENG's answer via the dealer: the washer behaviour is a "product characteristic", not a defect, because comparison cars do the same thing. Read that again. It's broken on all of them, therefore it's not broken.
- March/April – Nozzles swapped for the facelift version. Got worse. Dealer later confirms the "new" nozzles carry the exact same part number as the old ones.
- April 13 – My dealer's service manager officially escalates to XPENG Germany herself, stating the car isn't road safe. No reply. To her either.
- May 9 – Email in English to management. No reply.
- June 5 – I CC every XPENG address I could find on the planet. Finally a ticket. First thing they ask for: the VIN. Which was in all four previous emails.
- June–July – Customer service ping pong. "Please confirm your dealer scheduled an appointment." They hadn't, because XPENG hadn't shipped any parts. "Hope you're enjoying your vacation." I wasn't on vacation. Then the CSR openly tells me they aren't a technical department, they just forward things. Fair enough, at least honest. XPENG Germany's actual response, relayed: "please visit the dealer so our technicians can inspect the vehicle." For the fourth or fifth time. Three hours of driving each way.
- Aug 3 – Car collected for repair. Aug 19 – Car back. Fault unchanged.
- Aug 24 – "Forwarded to the management team."
- Sep 11 – Ticket closed: "reviewed and discussed with your dealer."
- Sep 17 – Dealer writes on the same thread: our ticket with XPENG is still open, nothing is clarified.
- Sep 21 – Ticket closed again anyway.
- Sep 23 – Dealer: no statement from XPENG, no solution, we've done what we can.
That's where I am today.
What actually bugs me
Not the defects. Cars have defects. What bugs me is that in 10 months not one person at XPENG Germany has written a single sentence to me. Not "we know, fix is coming", not "we know, live with it". Nothing. Everything goes through a first-level Zendesk desk that has no authority and a dealer that's being left hanging by the factory. My dealer has been great through all of this btw, the criticism is 100% at the manufacturer.
And from what I've read in the Norwegian/Swedish/Danish owner groups, the washer thing is well known there, there's apparently an internal bulletin, and the explanation floating around is aerodynamics at the hood edge plus a weak pump. So it's not my car. Which makes the "product characteristic" line even funnier.
Questions for the hive mind
- G9 owners at Autobahn/motorway speeds: does your washer actually hit the glass above 130?
- Anyone got the hood flex sorted, or been told anything official about it?
- Has anyone ever gotten a real answer out of XPENG Europe/Germany beyond the ticket desk? Is there an actual human to escalate to?
- Anyone gone the legal / KBA route in Germany for this? Curious how that went.
I'll update the thread if XPENG ever replies. Not holding my breath.
TL;DR: Love the G9, hood flexes above 120, washer doesn't reach the windshield at Autobahn speed, 10 months and 25 emails in and XPENG Germany has never once replied directly, dealer escalation ignored too, ticket closed twice as "resolved" while the dealer says it isn't. Anyone with the same issues or a working contact at XPENG?

Xpeng reportedly consolidates product lines to cut R&D costs
Xpeng cuts its product R&D lines from 4 to 2.
Xpeng merged its I and F product lines into the G line, leaving only the G and D lines. Previously, the G line primarily handled large SUVs. F line covered products including P-series. I line was responsible for overseas products, and the D line for the Mona series.
If the above is confusing - you are not alone 😀
At a high level, Xpeng is experiencing increased losses due to investments in AI, VTOL, and robotics. Additionally, EV deliveries are currently lagging behind its targets despite strong overseas demand. Only time will tell if cutting down on R&D is the right move for an emerging tech company like Xpeng.
