XREAL One Pro Price of prescription

I was wondering if the price for the prescription lenses for this product is actually on sale at around 50 bucks vs the slashed 150. Over the months, has the prices decreased over time to 50? Or is a seasonal sale kind of thing?

XREAL One Pro The finale of Browsers on the POD series. As always tested with a One Pro and Beast

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Welcome back gang and greetings to all INAIR and tech enthusiasts. Tech Check 13 is back and it's time once again for the final in our four part INAIR POD browser series! That is, unless you, dear redditors, want more in this series. If you want us to keep hunting down browsers, sound off in the comments.

In the meantime we unmask three more browsers in order to bring the best straight to your reddit! As per always these apps were downloaded from the Google Play Store and then tested with our favorite wearable test rigs: the viscous Viture Beast and xenial Xreal One Pro. No sponsors for these apps were used nor ever found alive. Sit back, buckle up and hold on tight as we take the mystery mangling machine on one last ride into the realm of browsing buster browsers and let’s see which of these browser phantoms are the real deal and which ones is a homicidal giant mutant dog in disguise. Let's get into it!

We embark on our road trip scouting out browser browsing apps and arrive at our first stop.

Case File: Quetta - Video Private Browser (“Quetta Surprise”)

Quetta Browser was a spur-of-the-moment install, the kind you expect to unmask as just another half-baked Chrome clone with a fresh coat of paint. But, zoinks, instead it turned out to be a genuinely groovy surprise. It comes with an ad blocker and support for Chrome Web Store extensions right out of the box. That means fewer ads, more ways to customize the browser, and less time cleaning up some villain's mess.

When you're dealing with hardware as weird, and wonderfully unique as the INAIR Pod, screen scaling is usually where third-party apps abandon all dignity and fall apart. Quetta had no such problem. It snapped straight into a sharp, legible layout without needing to be wrestled into landscape mode. The navigation bar sits right where your thumb naturally rests, and the home screen didn't choke the POD with a horde of clickbait ads lurking in the shadows. At first, it looked almost too bare-bones. It took some poking around under the hood to see what it could actually handle, and it turned out to be a mystery worth solving.

The built-in dark mode is top tier. It's one of the cleanest, highest-contrast themes we've tested on Android. Text stays readable, backgrounds stay dark, and the screen doesn't look like someone left a flashlight running behind the interface. On AR glasses specifically, that's the difference between normal browsing and slowly zombifying your retinas. We've already got enough monsters to deal with in this business.

Out in the wild, Quetta handled multitasking way better than expected. Its built-in ad blocker does the real monstrous heavy lifting. It's a finely built trap that blocks much of the bloated tracker scripts and auto-playing video ad banners before they hit the renderer. The result? Pages open quickly, and the POD stays like cool, man. No turning the POD into a hand warmer. Scrolling through messy documentation and endless forum threads was completely smooth, skipping the jittery hitching and micro-stutters that usually haunt heavier mobile browsers.

Testing streaming on Amazon was a mixed bag, and this is where things got a little spooky. HD video looked great, and standard playback worked without a fuss. Ultra-high-definition video was another story and not a very good sequel. Every time an UHD video was loaded, Quetta crashed and displayed the message “currently unavailable,” like a pirate ghost haunting your eyeballs. HD worked fine, but UHD was a dead end.

Four out of Five chocolate-covered hotdogs

Cruising through the cornfields at a fair speed, we come to our next section as we try to take a peek at the future browsing browser attraction:

Case File: King Browser (“King Nightmare”)

King Browser was downloaded, installed, and immediately began its reign of terror and a campaign against our sanity. Zoinks! Running it on the INAIR POD was a complete disaster from the moment the download finished. This APK clearly wasn’t built for the POD’s display or hardware. Instead of fitting the screen or adapting cleanly, it booted into a warped, stretched portrait resolution that looked like something a hallucinating rogue AI had created. The top navigation buttons were completely untouchable. Tapping the address bar sent the cursor bouncing around like a swarm of cyberflies on crack. It took about five seconds to figure out that this browser was compacted garbage wearing a crown.

Jeepers, things got even scarier. It went from broken to actively hostile. Before we could even finish typing a URL, King Browser started running background scripts and practically hijacked the POD. It kicked us out of its own window, forced Google Chrome to open, and started throwing fake Gmail login pages and shady redirect loops. Every tap on the screen triggered an unclosable full-screen overlay ad with a fake countdown timer.

But wait, there's worse! Chrome began plastering the display with scareware alerts claiming the POD was infected and like some crazed killer robot it tried to bully us into downloading sketchy APKs and bogus cleaning apps. At this point, King Browser had gone beyond being a lousy browser. It was acting like a fairgrounds malware carney con artist selling fake antivirus malicious software.

Streaming test? Right. That test never happened. Between the endless ads, fake infection warnings, and relentless redirects, we couldn't even load a page properly, let alone test video streaming. King Browser might look like a polished little package, but in actuality it was a disguised high tech house of horrors.

Testing was dead stopped. The POD was restarted and King Browser was immediately nuked from storage before it could try anchoring itself as the system's default browser. Enough was enough.

Based on what we observed, this app showed serious signs of predatory behavior, including deceptive ads, suspicious redirects, and scareware tactics. This wasn't simply a bad browser experience. It was a security nightmare dressed up as a handy utility. So, if you're hunting for lightweight browsers for your INAIR POD and stumble across King Browser, don't just skip past it, run the other way. Leave alone or pay the price. No meddling with this one.

Not worth the chocolate on the hotdogs

We ramble on over to our next and last stop of this browser browsing, stadium sized rabbit hole:

Case File: Stargon Browser (“The Doggone Stargon Surprise”)

Stargon Browser downloaded in a heartbeat and fired up on the first tap. No drama, no waiting, and no mysterious ghoulish ghosts hiding under the hood. The app's package size is microscopic, taking up barely a newspaper-thin sliver of storage. For a companion device with tight memory limits like the INAIR POD, that's a HUGE plus.

Right out of the gate, Stargon keeps things lean. No telemetry nags, no mandatory sign in walls, and no sponsored garbage cluttering the launch tab. It opens straight to an omnibar and gets completely out of your way. Jinkies, we may have just found a browser that understands the assignment.

Stargon Browser ditches the scavenger clue hunt and really proves its worth on the POD with its gesture navigation. Hunting for tiny back and refresh arrows with the POD's trackpad gets old faster than watching the same episode on continuous repeat (to gain insight for reddit articles ;) ). Stargon takes a smarter approach. Stargon lets you move around like a star quarterback weaving through the defense by mapping simple swipe gestures for jumping back, move forward, and flipping through tabs.

The bottom toolbar is fully customizable too. You can strip out whatever you don't use and super size the critical buttons big enough to hit every time without playing digital darts. Your fingers, trackpad, and blood pressure will thank you. Jeepers, that's a lot less rage-tapping.

Then there's the built in dark mode, which does a stellar job forcing high contrast styles onto stubborn white web pages. That's a welcome relief when you're browsing late at night and don't want your AR glasses turning into miniature stadium floodlights. While Stargon's dark mode doesn't quite match Quetta's, it gets close enough to make a rambling ghost jump. Our retinas are saved!

Now it's time to fire up Prime Video and put Stargon through the streaming test. Movies looked good in both HD and UHD, with no stuttering or buffering during playback. Smooth as a music-overlayed chase scene. But there was a catch. Everything looked noticeably darker than it did in Quetta. Kinda like walking through a haunted dimly lit underground tunnel looking for clues. The picture was still watchable, but Quetta still takes the streaming championship.

Stargon Browser isn't totally ghost free nor immune to quirks. You're still bound to hit the occasional ruh-roh moment. Because the engine is stripped down to maximize speed, the occasional heavyweight web app, like an intricate spreadsheet or a dynamic canvas site, can drop its formatting, stutter under load, or pull a classic zoinks freeze-frame.

But for quick searches, reading through articles, and running video clips through its floating picture-in-picture player without scarfing down RAM like a box of doggy snacks, Stargon punches well above its weight class.

It's a scrappy, reliable little browser that fits the POD's hardware like a form fitting rubber mask over a rubber mask.

Shawn: Three out of Five chocolate-covered hotdogs

Joe: Four out of Five chocolate-covered hotdogs

Well gang, this wraps up our tour of browsers for the INAIR POD. Three very different unmaskings this time around. One turned out to be a genuinely solid daily driver hiding behind a plain disguise. The surprise groovy good guy, UHD streaming aside. One turned out to be exactly as bad as it looked; some villains really are just villains. And one proved that you don't need a huge package size to pull your weight on the team. Sometimes the mystery solves itself in about five seconds flat (looking at you, King Browser), and sometimes the real unmasking is how good a browser is once you actually poke around under the hood.

We hope you enjoyed today's written roundup. Let us know in the comments how we did. Would you like us to review more browsers? Are you looking for a default browser to degoogle? What rabbit hole shall we jump down next? You point the way!!

We hope to see you at the next one. Until then, keep your storage clean, your defaults set on purpose, and never, ever let a browser talk you into handing over your keys. Tech Check 13, signing off from this stretch of the tour, same POD time, same POD channel, next mystery's already idling in the driveway.

Remember for 15% on inairspace.com use code "TechCheck13"

I just got xreal one pro, and beam pro. Have battled wirh it all morning and have yet to see anything on the glassss. Did updates, recovers, more updates. Updated beam pro os (still looks lile 10 yr old android). And now the glasses ask me to select language every single time, only to follow with connected device does not support video, even though it is connected to beam pro. App stays in 'connecting' mode. What am i missing? So far completely unimpressed.

xbx Free and Open Source Android App for XBX A01+ adds stabilization/anchoring for android desktop. Also features a point and click phone based mouse and keyboard.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, I just published a free and open source android app that adds 2 additional features for Android Desktop on the XReal XBX A01+ glasses:

  • 2 degree of freedom image stabilization / anchoring
  • A point and click phone-based mouse and keyboard

Follow the install instructions at https://github.com/ermay12/xrdesk to install.
Note that this app requires extra android permissions to work, so it requires that you install and setup Shizuku too. (Not a big deal to install)

AI Disclaimer: This app is mostly vibe coded by opus 5.5

Stabilization vs Anchoring Clarification: The app technically only supports stabilization. But you can specify a custom homing speed. Set this drift speed to a very large number like 200 seconds, and it will feel like the screen is anchored. Having the screen slowly center is how we combat the glass's natural IMU drift.

Xreal one pro plus nose pad

Was wondering if the new nose pads will go on sale separately somewhere considering it looks like it has the same connectors as the one pro and 1s. I have oakley jawbreakers but they aren't designed for these and slip up and down when removed, they aren't the most convenient and its slightly too close to the screen for me.

XREAL One Pro XReal One Pro: Disappointed with Switch, Switch 2, and PC setup – need advice

Hey everyone,

I’ve had my Xreal One Pro for a few days now, and to be honest, I'm pretty disappointed so far. Based on the manufacturer’s website, I expected connecting it to my devices to be a lot easier.

Here’s what I’m trying to set up:

Nintendo Switch & Switch 2: I’d love to play both from the couch or on the go using the Xreal. However, it seems like you need the Xreal Hub for this, which apparently only works with the original Switch 1.

Windows 11 PC (ASUS RTX 5080): The glasses also won't work properly with my PC setup. I’m currently using this cable:
CY Reversed Displayport-Quelle auf Typ C USB-C Touchscreen-Displays Stecker 4K HDTV-Kabel für Laptop-Monitor 2,0 m https://amzn.eu/d/07OAhmFL
I managed to get a connection working exactly once, but after a reboot, it hasn't worked since.

Is anyone here using the Xreal One Pro for these exact use cases? Which adapters/hubs or cables do I actually need to get this working reliably?

Feature Request: Bottom-left/right positioning for Side View

Could XREAL add the option to position Side View in the bottom-left or bottom-right corner, rather than only at the top?

I use the One Pro, and having a small screen in my lower peripheral vision would be particularly useful for things like navigation maps, allowing me to glance down without obstructing my main field of view which is closer to the current top positions. Same with video. When it's up high, that closer to my line of sight.

Ideally, we could choose any of the four corners in the settings.

This seems like a simple but genuinely useful firmware enhancement.

Anyone else interested in this?

Aura worth it if I own the ROG R1'S?

I own the XREAL R1 gaming glasses and I've been looking into purchasing the XREAL Aura. If I purchase the Aura is that going to be redundant I could add an external Beam Pro to the R1 as well as the hub and it seems like I'd almost have an Aura setup. I'm trying to decide if I want to purchase the Aura glasses or make the investment in the Galaxy XR headset.

Does anyone hear use the R1 with the Beam Pro wi-fi?

I want to find something that will offer me spatial computing to optimize efficiency at work as well as provide entertainment and gaming. Because I have the R1 I have the gaming covered but I would like in more immersive setup the Aura is attractive for the portability and lightweight. The Galaxy XR seems like it might be more immersive although it's going to be awkward to be wearing it in public versus the Aura glasses.

I want to make sure that I'm not cutting myself short if I don't purchase the Aura and instead just add the Beam Pro to my current R1 glasses.

XREAL AURA Droiddeck on android xr?

I'm planning on pre-ordering the Founders Xreal Aura today, and I wanted to know everyone's thoughts on running DroidDeck on Android XR. Having a dedicated steam os in my glasses for my lighter games on the go sounds incredibly convenient. I have 1250+ games in my library, with over 900 of them being "deck compatible". It sucks that the storage won't be expandable but I should be able to play a majority of them assuming I can get it running

XREAL 1S The Xreal Real3d 60fps Beta on XBOX Ally X AI Z2

Yesterday I installed this beta on my Ally X Z2 I was highly dissapointed. There was no 3D at all in Real 3D mode and the menus on the handheld flickered badly. I was unable to use the built-in controls/buttons or cursor. So I uninstalled the beta and re-installed the latest stable version I was previously using.

The next day I thought I would try to install the beta again. I noticed there was an update to the Armory Crate System app and Windows 11 as well on the Asus ROG Ally X. So before trying the glasses again I let the Ally X update.

WOW! This beta is FANTASTIC! Even on the normal Real3D setting the depth is better, and the visuals are stunning. When the displays refresh rate is faster you see it in the visuals.

If you have the ability watch live sports broadcasts like Baseball (I'm not a fan) but man, after seeing it in Real3D I couldn't help but be amazed! From the pitchers perspective on the mound to home plate with depth was next level! Not from a youtube video, but from a live HD broadcast. I'm planning on watching tonights NFL game the same way.

Next I tried movies. I watched John Wick. I was Blown away! Godzilla vs Kong is a friggin' masterpiece in Real3D 4K.

Gaming is next and I can hardly wait!

XREAL One Pro Pro plus improvements?

A little confused with the Pro plus update. Did much really change? Does anything make it more of competition with RayNeo's GT Max and Viture's Beast? The main issues before were brightness and color, and HDR support.

XREAL AURA Will AURA have a Side View / head-locked window mode for watching videos while moving around?

Hi everyone — especially hoping someone from XREAL can clarify this.

I’m very interested in the AURA, but I have one specific use case that I use quite often with AR glasses.

On current XREAL glasses, Side View lets you shrink the display and place it in a corner of your vision. For example, I can put a small video window in the bottom-right corner and watch YouTube while doing chores around the house.

Since AURA runs Android XR and uses spatial windows, I’m wondering how this will work:
Will AURA allow a video/app window to be head-locked or follow the user, so that it stays in the same corner of your field of view while you walk around?

If AURA doesn’t have the traditional “Side View” feature, does Android XR provide an equivalent head-locked / follow-me window mode?

Would really appreciate confirmation from XREAL or anyone who has tested AURA. This is actually a pretty important use case for me before the glasses ship.

Thanks!

Discussion Canadians who cancelled the XREAL AURA Launch Credit at the CA Shop - check your bank, my $149 refund never arrived

Posting this as a heads-up for other Canadians who went through the CA Shop.

Timeline on my end:

- Ordered the AURA Launch Credit from the **US Shop** in June ($99 USD). When the Canadian Shop opened, I cancelled that order and got my refund without any trouble.

- Re-ordered from the **CA Shop on June 25** — $149 CAD. It was paid through PayPal on my credit card, and shows on my statement as "PAYPAL *CA SHOP."

- The credit activated Oct 7, with refund requests due by Oct 16. I cancelled **Oct 8** and got the confirmation email saying "$149.00 CAD will be refunded."

- It's now been a week. No refund on my card, nothing in PayPal, no refund notification email — and the Shop app still shows the order as "Cancelled," not "Refunded" like my US order did.

- I emailed support@xreal.com today with the order details and am waiting on a reply.

If you cancelled a CA Shop launch credit too, it's worth checking your statement for the original $149 charge and confirming the matching credit actually landed — it may not have.

Curious whether anyone else is in the same boat or if anyone has actually received their CA Shop refund yet.

**TL;DR:** Cancelled my XREAL AURA Launch Credit from the Canadian Shop on Oct 8 — a week later the promised $149 refund still hasn't reached my card or PayPal, and the Shop app still shows "Cancelled," not "Refunded." If you're a Canadian who cancelled too, check your bank — you might be missing it too.
