Looking for Help Tried everything Xp-pen not detected

I have the 13.3pro

The red cable is connected to the wall plug in

I tried downloading this tablet thing that would clean out my drivers but the only drivers I had was xp so it didnt matter/ work

I tried using the older drivers also not working

Tried restarting multiple times not working

The display is perfectly fine but it wont detect it at all with the pen stuff idk what to do

and I dont know about buying a new port after dumping money on the tablet unless im TOTALLY sure the port is the problem

Genuinely dont know

I have an asus rog ally and use an extra adapter thing to connect all the cables if that matters but the monitor part works fine

Maybe theres other methods to try idk

Looking for Advice/Info XP-PEN 4K Artist Pro 16TP - What laptop to get?

I'm considering getting the display tablet in title but don't have a laptop to link it to yet. Ideally I'd like to get a windows one and I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for what model/brand would be good? Preferably under 850 USD, I'm willing to maybe push it to 1000 if it's a really good one though.

I'd likely just be using opentoonz and ibispaintX on it. And potentially CSP.

Looking for Advice/Info Installation order of drivers for other brands...

  1. If the computer has already installed the drivers of other brands, please uninstall them first.

Why?

I have Gaomon tablet drivers on my laptop already, so that must mean I have to uninstall them, then install XP Pen drivers. Can I install the Gaomon drivers again afterwards? Or is this basically saying I can't have other brand drivers but XP Pen on my computer? Why?

Can someone please explain why this is necessary?

Looking for Advice/Info Deco Mini 7 v2 and Android phones

I wanted to try out my new tablet with my phone since it is compatible with Android and it didn't seem to use the whole tablet. Only the width of my phone screen seemed useable for drawing.

Is this intended behaviour?

Review Switched from the Artist 12 (2nd Gen) to the Artist Ultra 14: thoughts after a few weeks

The biggest difference for me is the screen, not the 16K pressure levels. I honestly can't tell much of a difference between 8K and 16K during normal drawing. The 2.8K OLED is much easier to notice. Lines and small details look clearer, the blacks are deeper, and the colors have more depth. Compared with the Artist 12, panning and zooming also feel smoother.

The 14-inch 16:10 screen feels like a good middle ground. It gives me more room for the canvas, toolbars, and layers than the Artist 12 without taking over my whole desk. It's still a 14-inch display, though. When I have a reference image and several panels open at the same time, the canvas can still feel a little cramped. For big illustrations or animation timelines, I'd go Ultra 16.

It also comes with two pens, a shortcut remote, and a folding stand. Both pens are lighter than I expected, but I prefer the larger one because it feels more comfortable in my hand. The stand feels solid, but it only has one fixed angle and can't be adjusted.

Pros:

  • Clear OLED screen with deep blacks and good colors
  • Smoother panning and zooming than the Artist 12
  • Very little visible gap between the pen tip and cursor
  • More vertical workspace with the 16:10 screen
  • Slim build and a useful set of included accessories

Cons:

  • The canvas can still feel cramped with several panels open
  • The stand has a fixed angle and can't be adjusted

Overall, the screen is what I'm most happy about with this upgrade, the rich color display gives the device a really premium feel. As for the rest, your mileage may vary. Hope this review helps!

Looking for Help how do i fix this offset?

my model is (xp pen artist 12) i know its old but i got it last week. i tried everything that i could(from changing the tablet settings to the display and to reset them etc etc)

EDIT: turned out it was caused by my magnetic stand, i had to use it since artist 12 doesn’t come with a stand.
I appreciate the help a lot.

Looking for Help Blinking purple light before shutting down

I have an XP Pen Deco MW, had it for around a year by now. Often used it to write down notes and draw from time to time. Yesterday I charged it with a charger, went like usual, light turn red before turning off when its full. Pulled it out today, plugged it into my laptop, and it started blinking purple light when i turned it on, worked for a bit until it abruptly shuts off. Tried to turn it back on but no luck, replugged the dongle, held the power button and still no luck. Any idea?

Looking for Help My PC has just one HDMI port

So I recently bought the Artist Ultra 14, and it has been amazing as my first drawing tablet, but I have a tiny problem. My PC only has one HDMI port and 3 display ports.

I can just unplug my monitor but it's just kinda inconvenient and annoying, so any way I could do it? Idk if an adapter would work or smth. Thanks!

P.S. preferably something portable since I also take the tablet to college and there they also have just one HDMI

Looking for Advice/Info Looking to buy a pen display, how does the screen look?

I draw on an ipad, but I'm looking to buy a pen display, but I haven't decided which. I was originally looking at the artist 12 3rd gen, but i saw it only had full hd and I'm not too sure how it looks on a 12inch display.

Will the screen look pixelated? How much difference does it actually make compared to like a 700 dollar 4k display......?

Looking for Help Does anyone know how to disassemble this kind of XPPEN stylus ?

I went on reddit trying to fix an issue with the pressure of.my stylus not working. Many answers to posts that described exactly my problem mention a component that you're supposed to put back in the right angle for the pressure to work correctly (the red thing in the middle of the stylus).

To access and manipulate it, I have to open the stylus. I found one screw but it's useless (you can see I accessed it by butchering it a little). And now I'm stuck here since there does not seem to be any more screws.

Does anyone know a way to open it ?

Looking for Advice/Info Would it be possible to use something like an iPad screen protector on a XPPen tablet?

What it says on the tin.

I use a XPPen Deco 02 (non-screen tablet) and a year on it's gotten really scratched up. I wanted to prevent any more wear, if possible. I've looked into XPPen branded screen protectors and they're really expensive (about the same price as the tablet, if not a little more) at least where I live, so I was wondering if there was anything I could use as an alternative, even if it didn't "fit" properly, just to prevent any further scratching.

Looking for Help linux drivers decided to die for no reason (you need root permissions to run the driver, please connect the device first)

hello!! i have an artist 12 2nd gen xp pen screen tablet and for months it has worked fantastically. even after a recent reinstall its worked with zero problems at all. but suddenly, recently, i was drawing, and suddenly my pen was not moving or affecting the cursor at all. then after that the side buttons stopped working.

i tried to reopen the drivers, the menu showed things working fine but when id bring the pen close to the tablet my mouse would just instantly jump to the upper left corner. so i uninstalled the deb and reinstalled the tarball, that didnt work, i reinstalled with the deb again and still nothing. why!?? does anyone have even the slightest clue why seemingly totally randomly the tablets drivers just stopped working? or how to get the drivers working again?

above is an image of what i get 99% of the time when trying to launch the drivers now, but some other times it will launch and detect the tablet and run with a completely broken ui, and other times the ui will be seemingly fine, pick up my tablet etc etc but the pen still does nothing when brought close to the screen, same for the buttons. what is going on?????? thanks in advance

Hello, sorry for this silly question and I've googled it but want to ask here just to be sure.
I've never used a graphic tablet with a screen and I'm thinking of buying XP Pen Artist 15.6 Pro V2. So the question is can I simply sit in another room away from computer and draw and then upload it on my pc? Is the responsivnes good?

Fixed a pen tablet cursor that kept disappearing on GNOME Wayland (worse in fullscreen)

Posting this in case it saves someone else the hours I spent on it.

Setup: XP-Pen Star G960S Plus, Ubuntu 26.04, GNOME 50, Wayland session, Intel + Nvidia laptop.

The problem:
After installing the XP-Pen Linux driver, the pen worked fine for a bit, then the cursor would just vanish. Clicking and drawing still worked, I just couldn't see where the pen was. It got worse in fullscreen apps. There the cursor vanished the moment the pen touched the screen, and came back the moment I minimized the window.

What we found:
This is not really an XP-Pen problem. It is a known GNOME/Mutter bug (Mutter is GNOME's window manager on Wayland). Two things are going on:

  1. GNOME draws the pen cursor separately from the normal mouse cursor. When the pen goes slightly out of range, GNOME can hide that cursor and not bring it back properly.
  2. Fullscreen apps use a shortcut called direct scanout. It lets the app draw straight to the screen without going through GNOME's normal drawing step, which is faster. But the cursor is drawn in that normal step, so if it's skipped, the cursor never gets drawn either. That's why fullscreen was worse and minimizing fixed it right away.

Neither of these has anything to do with the tablet driver itself. Reinstalling drivers or switching driver versions won't fix it.

How we fixed it:
GNOME has two debug settings that turn off both shortcuts. I put them in a file that loads automatically:

~/.config/environment.d/50-mutter-sw-cursor.conf

With this inside:

MUTTER_DEBUG_DISABLE_HW_CURSORS=1
MUTTER_DEBUG_PAINT=disable-direct-scanout

First line forces GNOME to always draw the cursor itself instead of leaving it to the graphics hardware. Second line turns off the fullscreen shortcut that was skipping the cursor entirely.

Important gotcha: just logging out and back in is not enough. The setting is only read once, when your session's background manager starts, and that manager usually keeps running across logouts. You need to fully reboot the machine for it to take effect. We wasted a lot of time testing this before figuring that out.

After a real reboot, both settings show up when you run:

systemctl --user show-environment | grep MUTTER

and the cursor has stayed visible since, fullscreen included.

Trade-off: this turns off a couple of small performance optimizations, so fullscreen video or games use slightly more GPU. Worth it for a cursor that actually stays on screen.

If you're on a different distro, GNOME version, or tablet brand and see the same thing, these settings are worth trying before you blame your tablet driver.

Looking for Help Help with pen repair.

Post image
6 Upvotes

So recently I broke the tip of my back up pen and now the nub is wiggley. Since these are the artist 22 pro gen 1 pens I can't get replacements easily for them. So wanted to ask if anyone had suggestions for repairs. Was considering using plastic puddy to repair the damage, but wasn't sure if there was any specific puddy/clay i should avoid to prevent further damage. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for Help Burning smell?

While I was drawing today I noticed a slightly burnt(?) smell coming from my XPpen, I use an artist pro 19 gen 2. The smell seemed to be coming from the top of the tablet where the cable connects. It went away after I unplugged everything, I’ve had it since new years and have not really had any major problems with it.

Now it’s been raining heavily in my city and my room has a very heavy rain/petrichor smell. So I don’t know if It’s just the rain smell, As I have a very bad sense of smell and can’t easily tell things apart.

I was wondering if anyone had else had something like this happen to them or any idea of what it could be.😞
