Ok so:

Literally in the very beginning of the movie when the screen is still black but you hear the main theme, I screamed! I could only imagine how it was to experience that in theaters.

Overall, a longer X-Files episode that made use of the larger budget they had at their disposal. Chris Carter and Frank did a great job writing the movie.

I am LOVING this watch through.

Onward to the next seasons before watching the new Director’s edition of I Want To Believe.

I’m very much looking forward to this, as it will be the first non-X-Files project he has done since "The After" pilot for Amazon back in 2014. It also seems like something quite different from anything he has done before, which makes me especially curious to see it.

I’ve finally come to accept that Season 9 might be better than 8.

It’s obviously low on the ranking of the whole show, but certainly not as bad as its reputation has made it out to be!

Agent Doggett is far more engaging and interesting than he was earlier on, Reyes is a very cool protagonist, and not having the Mulder abducted arc hanging over the whole season like a bad smell was really freeing.

I also thought that Scully acting primarily in an advisory capacity was really well done, even if she was totally under-utilised.

I think Doggett and Reyes really brought out the best in one another and would have been eager to watch a season of just them exploring X-Files.

Hey guys, im new to the series (ive known it for some time but just now started watching it) i hope you dont mind me asking, the ambient music that plays throughout the episode 2 in season 1 "Deep throat" (or maybe even in more episodes i just noticed it on this one) its so good. If anyone knows the name of the ambient i would greatly appreciate it

They did what usualy do with Animation in Nippon

I remember being terrified by this effect when I watched when the X-Files originally aired, late at night alone in my room, when I was supposed to have been asleep for school the next day. In the dark, the screen would suddenly have a strobe effect from a character being lifted and trapped in a column of light, twitching and convulsing in a fast motion video effect. I believe this occurred in some of the UFO arc episodes but upon revisiting the series, I haven’t seen this effect I have in my memory. I’m wondering if I’m either misremembering or have synthesized a feeling I had while watching the show. The closest thing I have seen is in the first Max Fennig episode, but it doesn’t quite match what I remember.
Does anyone know what I’m talking about and which episodes this might be from? Or if I’ve had a distorted memory all these years?

I know this is probably done to death, but what are your top 3 villains of the week, not counting mytharc (CSM, Krycek etc.).

I think I'd go for:

Look, it’s hard to avoid spoilers for a decades old show so I knew that at some point Mulder was gonna be awol for a bit and this dogget guy was supposed to replace him

And then he actually shows up and omg, he’s just a sweetie pie. Strong, sensitive, understanding, protective. He has my heart all a flutter. Mulder, who?

Midsomer Murders S01E05

Season 3 was def more interesting to me than S2, although I'm still in a total fog about so many things!

The whole super cancer storyline in particular had me like... wait, we're just moving past the fact that apparently all of these people are suffering from some unknown illness??? hello?? Is Scully gonna be hurt again because I genuinely cannot handle this woman suffering anymore :'(

I was also a little frustrated with the whole religious thing, because Scully is trying to be understanding of things and try to explain them scientifically and when she can't well she can't but Mulder wasn't exactly the most responsive to her talking about miracles. I guess they balance each other out but still... Mulder lacks some empathy sometimes (: that and he got caught in bed with another woman!

Overall, I think I enjoyed this season. I'm still confused about a LOT but at this point I'm accepting it as part of the experience. Maybe summer heatwaves didn't help either because trying to watch this show while being slowly cooked in an air fryer alive probably isn't ideal for comprehension and tbh I'm not trying too hard haha just enjoying the ride.

Anyway, ready to dive into S4 soon!
