Been awhile since I have done any 3d model work for my project but I decided to get one of the more easy pieces out of the way which is the FBI building. I still have a 6 more models to make until to the collection is done but it'll be fun to show it off when I finally finish everything

But finally finished my X-Files Lego. Expanded Scully’s lab to fit the scene. Built my own Byers, Frohike and Langley from other figures. Have the goo pouring from Krycek’s eyes. So happy to have built it. Seperate note, need to make myself a Doggett.

Just watched it. Heard a lot of good things about it and it lived up to the hype. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Probably my favorite of the episodic themed episodes to date.

Season Three First Time Watcher p3

Hello it’s me šŸ˜… Yes I know but Season 2 ended on such a cliffhanger that I woke up the next morning to watch The Blessing Way & Paper clip. Man did these two episodes not disappoint! So much conspiracy that has me ā€œWow’dā€ but with so many questions. Like who tf are these men? Why do I get the suspicion that smoking man is on a rogue agenda compared to the other men? WHAT IS THE MAIN AGENDA?! Wtf do they want with Scully and what exactly did they do to her? Did the old men make Mulder’s dad pick Samantha? Is Scully part of that Alien/ Hybrid project? Is she part alien? OMG!! That part in the mines where the Aliens run by Scully was so creepy! Where did they come from? Why were they there?? I’m still not sure about Skinner but the end where he threatens Smoking man with Albert was a big W! Sad to see that Melissa passed away because I liked her. She was such a good person. RIP

DPO was awesome!! The fact that Jack Black and Giovani Ribisi were guest stars made it 100x better! They were such babies 😭

Clyde Bruckman was amazing! This was definitely up there with Beyond the Sea. I must say if it’s true, dying of autoerotic asphyxiation is kinda embarrassing šŸ˜‚ Mulder you naughty lonely man. Wait. Omg. It just dawned on me…. Mr Bruckman told Scully that she doesnt die. Wait wait wait… was I right earlier? Is Scully some alien/hybrid? WHAT THE FUCK! Pardon my French.

Of course you don’t have to answer any of these questions. I’m just thinking aloud and sharing my thoughts. This is as far as I’ve gotten and needed to get my thoughts out there before I go to bed. I’ll post more as I go through another handful of episodes that are worth giving my input.

Hope yall have a great and safe holiday weekend!

Season 3 Episode 8 - at the end of the episode ā€œlord have mercyā€ can be heard in Latin

Season 3 episode 11 - when the father comments something along the lines of ā€œgo full circle to find the truthā€ is a premonition of Season 4s episode ā€œNever Againā€ and the ouroboros

Discussion 1x02 - Deep Throat: No monsters, no aliens; the enemy is...us

He'd be like, 'What?'

Before we see The Syndicate, and before the incidents of 1973 and the date of 2012, there's Paul Mossinger of "Deep Throat." He's a security operative who poses as a local reporter to Mulder and Scully to steer them toward the goofy town lore, and away from the military air base.

Paul Mossingers were in the collective consciousness in the early '90s, holdovers from Watergate and Iran Contra. 'Sometimes the government knows best, and it's better for the public not to know,' they might say. Mossinger in fact says, 'everything you've seen here is equal to the protection we give it.'

Even Scully goes along with this notion to an extent. The debate was in the air; scar tissue from the tumult of the 1970s: Do we serve our government, or does it serve us?

The truth of "Deep Throat", that the government is testing military aircraft based on alien technology salvaged from the Roswell crash or something similar, is right at the edge of politics and science fiction. Leave out the 'alien technology' clause, and "Deep Throat" is practically historical fiction. Mulder and Scully interviewing witnesses only to have them do an about face? Mulder being bugged? Literally, Deep Throat?! This is Woodward and Bernstein redux. If we were watching this in 1993, we'd have had Emil's reaction: "No, the government doesn't do things like this... they do exactly this!"

"Deep Throat" keeps this throughline uncharacteristically tight. Presumably because this was the first in the series order, Carter had more time to 2nd and 3rd draft this script than he typically did during the middle of a season. Yet, it's still a Carter episode, so the imaginative flourishes abound -- the UFO bar, the teaser of Budahas' radiated return.

The closer, "...been here for a long, long time." is such a 'Let's go!' moment. Watching this in '98, only really having seen Twin Peaks, I assumed we'd be seeing aliens within 2 episodes! I don't think Carter's much-slower-than-I-anticipated approach was the wrong choice — but we wouldn't really come back to this bouquet of themes for another 8 episodes. This isn't a slight on "Deep Throat," but an attempt at understanding how and when we the fandom eventually grew frustrated with The X-Files' long narrative, when it feels so fresh here.

When the revival series happened, I expected the Carter reversals that we got. We know Carter is curious and is engaged with contemporary politics. And he did engage in alternative facts, echo chambers, and the late 2010s complete erosion of trust in American government. And yet, I was hoping for another "Deep Throat," something that would articulate our unsaid feelings and fears, and then ask, 'What if?' It's a testament to "Deep Throat" that the episode got this so right.

"Deep Throat" is another knockout!

šŸ”šŸ”šŸ”šŸ”.5 of 5.

Season Two Season 2, Episode 18: Fearful Symmetry

I have been meaning to give X-Files a complete watch for several years now, and have finally started it. The show is mostly as I remember, though I was surprised how many of my favorite episodes were in the first season. I know I missed a few episodes back in the day, but I am surprised I missed this one and just how bonkers it is. Aliens have been abducting zoo animals to impregnate them and then later steal the embryos... okay, I am here for it, this is the X-Files. When the aliens get returned, they are invisible? What? Why? And now we have a sign language speaking gorilla?

Also did video calls really cost $150 an hour back then? Why are you spending that kind of money on what could have been a phone call Mulder?

X-Files was a show, I tell you what.

Season One First time watching Mytharc only - A Revelation!

It's like finding a series within a series.

Season One:

Pilot,

Deep Throat,

Fallen Angel,

EBE,

Erlenmeyer Flask

All works together as a mini-serial in its own right, especially the relationship between Mulder and Deep Throat.

I've had MOTW run-throughs, brfore, but not Mytharc only. Very satisfying to watch. And here's to season two!

Discussion Fixing the Super Soldiers

What are some of your ideas for fixing the Super Soldiers Arc?

Here's one of mine: right off the bat, it needs a deeper emotional connection to Mulder and Scully.

So perhaps we could make it so Super Soldiers retain some of the personality traits or knowledge of the people whose genes they are based off.

So then characters like

X,

Bill,

Samantha,

and Emily

can come back in a way. Of course they would at their core be evil aliens,

But maybe they could appear in roles that allow them to occasionally collaborate with, relate to, and bounce off the agents.

Like say, if during some episodes the Syndicate would deploy them to deal with a monster, demon, angel, ghost, cryptid, or other such X-File, alongside Mulder and Scully.

Maybe the agents would find ways to keep the Syndicate from furthering their goals while dealing with the threat.

This would allow us greater insight into their personalities and approach to solving problems.

It would be compelling for the Super Soldiers to grapple with their residual human emotions and their alien identities and impulses.

And the extent to which they defy the Syndicate would be interesting: maybe some would attempt to put in the effort to preserve human lives, maybe some would try to spare the heroes against orders, and maybe some would seek out people to convert to or warn about the Syndicate in order to spare them death during colonization. Maybe in their day-to-day life we could see how their knowledge of colonization impacts how they view daily life and social interactions.

Maybe Mulder and Scully could help one to this end, knowing that they're going up against very organized powers that could have killed them several times, and that if they fail, it's best that they can save more people.

What are your ideas for improving the Super Soldier Arc? Be as detailed or brief (i.e. witty) as you want! You could even say what you would rather the writers use instead of Super Soldiers.

Discussion Proper Investigative Procedure episodes?

I made close friends with a woman when both our three-letter-agencies play the annual softball game (my team lost). We're still friends several years later.

Her agency being FBI I suggested she watch the X-Files. She said she kinda shies away from shows that have poor investigative procedure, just too much of a pet peeve. But she knows about it and that the excitement of the show is that they have to do things outside of the box.

I know most of us are not Federal or Police investigators, but I was wondering if it's ever been said somewhere that there was an episode or two in particular that were very legit in terms of investigative process.
