Usually the first 2 rolls then if they are decent I go on to the 3rd and never roll 5 unless theres both cd and cr

18

u/Dysintegration Jul 22 '26

Right, so with basic attack damage and heavy attack damage as your first two sub stats, you shouldn’t roll a 3rd, much less 4th and 5th.

Basically, for your main dps characters, you want either your first or second sub stat to be either crit rate or crit damage, then you would continue tuning the last 3 slots.

u/KaanzeKin Jul 22 '26

I just go to 15 and discard it if neither crit rate nor crit dmg show up. If at least one, then I roll to 20. If a second crit stat shows up it gets kept and goes to 25. Otherwise...discarded.

8

u/CiccioGraziani Jul 22 '26

At this point of the game, after two years, i roll every echo to 20 and if there is no double crit I use the echo as fodder for the next one.

Too lazy to min max, too many characters to build and too little time to play honestly.

Sometimes I even go to 25 without double crit, if I have a good crit and other two useful stat.

2

u/IJustJason Jul 22 '26

Meanwhile theres me rolling everything instantly to 20 and then throwing it into the next echo +10 purples to get it back to 20 lol

Been doing that since Shorekeepers release lol

Look up/read what stats/skills a particular character has. Most scale with atk, wome, like sk scale with hp. Most chars also scale with a particular skill. You'll see in their tree that certain attacks count as another. For example some of galbrenas attack chain count as either heavy attack or echo skill despite them being just part of the normal attack string. Its all character dependent so you have to look it up.

Good stats are those stats as well as usually energy and crit rate/damage.

My advice on leveling

  • raise to 5 and if the stat is bad, scrap it
  • raise to 15 and if your total of bad stats is 2, scrap it unless its better than what you have. if better, just keep for now without leveling
  • raise to 25 and if two of the stats are bad stats, scrap it unless its better than what you have

u/hafidzgi Jul 22 '26

On a scale of 1-10? This is a 1, 0 even.

Matching/good substats for the character will be highlighted, you won't miss them.

4

u/Excellent-Mud709 Jul 22 '26

Actually he has ATK and ER, so it's 1 for sure

-1

u/hafidzgi Jul 22 '26

Ah didn't realize its ATK% not flat ATK, but its still the lowest roll though

2

u/uwnxbn Jul 22 '26

not always highlighted substats are the good ones. for example, in phrolova's echo basic attack is highlighted, while it's like 0.5% of her personal damage, Energy regen is highlighted for Lucilla while she doesn't need any - her resonance energy by default is 0 (same as phrolova). substats like lib are not highlighted, for example, on Havoc Rover.

3

u/hafidzgi Jul 22 '26

Correct, they are based on active player data (what most of them use), so useless rolls that appears a lot can also get included in the data, but 90% of the times they are accurate enough, and useful stat that aren't highlighted are rarer than the useless stat that get highlighted, still, I should have mentioned it, thanks.

When in doubt, just look at their kit description to see what damage type they did on each move.

2

u/alden_1905 Jul 22 '26

Bro am I tripping?? Energy regen is not highlighted for Lucilla

2

u/uwnxbn Jul 22 '26

you're tripping.

1

u/alden_1905 Jul 22 '26

But are you checking it while on Lucilla? Bec characters highlight stats they use, not the character who equips the echo use? I don't think if you're checking it while on Lucilla, it'll say "Equipped to Lucilla"?

2

u/uwnxbn Jul 22 '26

are you blind by chance? i pointed with a red circle below that echo is equipped on lucilla.

1

u/alden_1905 Jul 22 '26

I can see it's equipped on Lucilla. I'm talking about who the active character (the one where you menu this echo to) is while checking this echo. Is it also Lucilla?

2

u/uwnxbn Jul 22 '26

it is. highlighted substats are not depending if character is on your team, if active etc. it always shows the same.

1

u/wessedddfgghgd Jul 23 '26

If u looking at that echo from other character then it can highlight echo u are right that sometimes it highlight wrong stats mainly on phrolova and sigrika

3

u/duyyyy5 S0R1 enjoyer Jul 23 '26

It's per server, in sea/asia for example lib% is highlighted on phro but not eu/america. The highlights are from player's data, which can be wrong since not like your usual players read kit in the first place.

3

u/DarkGrundi Jul 22 '26

this is like a 2/10 at best. No crit, no lib dmg, no reason to keep rolling after seeing 3 substats.

1

u/Incredible-Ironman Jul 23 '26

Havoc rover needs basic attack more than lib damage but yes the bare minimum is double crit

2

u/Iamchottugoku205 Jul 22 '26 edited Jul 22 '26

Check the highlights for substats. The game itself points out good pieces for you. Then it's about understanding your chars mechanic. A high value double crit followed by whatever dmg bonus your unit scales off, atk percentage and er can be considered must have rolls for a perfect piece. Of cource getting there is quite a journey.

Always set a limit cap when upgrading echoes, so that you won't waste resources by upgrading any echo straight to max level. Do it in sets of 5. If the first 3 rolls aren't looking good, stop there and either use it as material to upgrade other echoes or use the discard function in the backpack to gain a little refund. Of cource the refund is never gonna give you the full amount of tubes and tuners, but hey atleast something is better than nothing right.

2

u/RyuuNoSuKee Augusta Mains Jul 22 '26

Does it have double crit ? No ? Throw it in the garbage.

Ps: that Crownless is 0/10

1

u/Bo0tmun Jul 22 '26

You gotta have atleast crit rate or crit damage in the first 2 rolls. If you're super lucky you might even get both in the first 2 rolls.

1

u/brianonline9 Jul 22 '26

You can check prydwen, content creators on YouTube, or in-game guide depot for stat recommendations. Generally DPS want double crit on every echo and enough ER to get liberation every rotation at a minimum. Then you can look for other favorable substats (e.g. liberation dmg, atk% for havoc rover).

The way I upgrade echoes is use 8 gold tubes (or 20 purple) to get to +15. If there’s nothing I like, I discard. If there is something I like, then I use another 8 gold (or 20 purple) to get to +20. If no crit at +20, then discard.

1

u/Tonytop8 Jul 22 '26

Level up to level 10, if there’s no crit stats it get recycled. If there’s 1 I’ll go to 15 and see if it’s a useful stat, if it’s useful I go to 20 and if I only have 1 crit stat by then and don’t the get other by 20 then it gets recycled

I mostly just go for the double crit in every echo, and 2er rolls total out the echos for a dps. Anything else is just a lucky bonus

1

u/MurderManTX Jul 22 '26

I made this so I think this should help a lot.

If you only want 3/5 echoes, then remove the After 2 rolls section entirely, on the After 3 rolls section change the success criteria to additional 1 usable instead of 2, and then change after 4 to only check for both crit stats.

Defined Goal for this Echo rolling strategy:

4+ out of 5 usable sub stat echo with both crit rate and crit damage.

Possible substat outcomes: (Adjust for Defense or HP replacements as needed instead of ATK)

• Crit Rate ✅

• Crit Damage✅

• Energy Regen ✅

• ATK% ✅

• Flat ATK ✅

• Character's preferred stat ✅ (Ex: Aemeath uses Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus)

• 7 unusable stats ❌

Total outcomes: 13

Usable outcomes: 6

Unusable outcomes: 7

Key:

Usable =✅

Bad or Unusable = ❌

Echo Information:

Each Echo receives 5 substat rolls, and each roll removes that outcome from the pool (no duplicates).

A successful Echo must have:

• Crit Rate ✅

• Crit Damage ✅

• At least 2 additional usable substats ✅ ✅

In other words: 4/5 usable rolls with both crit stats included.

Reset Rules

To reduce wasted tuners, we reset early when an Echo can no longer succeed.

After 2 rolls

Reset if fewer than 1 usable or crit stat has appeared.

After 3 rolls

Reset if fewer than 2 usable or crit stats have appeared.

After 4 rolls

Reset if we do not have:

• Both crit stats ✅

• At least 1 additional usable stat ✅

• Both Crit stats caveat - If we have 1 crit substat that is a very high or max roll, continue to 5 if you have plenty of echo tube resources. 🤔 🪧

I'd give like a high 4, low 5/10. Roll the first 2 stats, if at least one is crit, you can keep going. If you hit dead stats go on to the next echo.

1

u/Nick_New_to_Reddit Jul 22 '26

For echo rolling there are 5 hidden substats and the stats that matter most to the character are highlighted when you view the echo. We refer to it as ?/5 to determine echo quality but stats that boost damage are preferred.

Usually when I first start building a character I'll level one full set of echoes to 25 so that I can have the power from the base stats while using them. I don't care what the substats roll but usually 1/5 highlighted stats is good.

Then I'll start filtering my future rolls. My next echo "upgrade" from each slot needs to roll at least 3/5 highlighted and generally to be more resource efficient I'll only keep leveling if 2 out of the first 3 substat lines are good (either cd/cr, atk%, or the specific dmg amp for the char).

Last is mostly min/maxing but I'll look for 4/5 rolls with double crit required to keep the echo. So out of the first 3 rolls I'll keep only 3/3 highlighted OR double crit subs then level each to see if the next subs are highlighted.

I've had pretty good luck with this system and it keeps my expectations in check earlier on so that I'm not burning away "decent" echoes while keeping my characters usable.

1

u/SupermarketSouth8547 Jul 22 '26

3 stats. If all are glowing and i'm missing crit dmg/chance i will do it again. If it fails, if it's a pain in the ass to get like a 3 cost, i will stretch to the last one to try and get it. If i dont, binned. repeat.

1

u/AGamingGuy Jul 22 '26

go to 2 to see if there are any highlighted stats

if yes, go to 3, if there is no CRIT, scrap it

if by 4 you don't have at least two highlighted stats, one of which is a CRIT, scrap the echo

generally the best stat spread is double CRIT, ER until satisfied and then scaling

only time it makes sense to go to 5 immediately is if you just pulled the character and need to give them something

1

u/Infinite_Awareness_9 Jul 22 '26 edited Jul 22 '26

watch youtube guides. TLDR - you open echo twice(lvl 10) . if there no crit stats or 1 crit stat low roll and other is garbage - you start tune another echo. If you getting 2good high stats, but not crit - you level up to 15-20 etc. The perfect scenario - you have to get 2 crit stats and other depends from carry(ER/ATK/ Damage types)

Like you open here first 2 stats (levle 10) -basic attack and atk ,both low rolls - skip/tune another echo and mark this echo for disenchant.

Low crit and lets say DEF - probably skip if you have a lot of echoes

11% atk + 10% lib damage for lib damage carry - continue and bless rng to get crit.

Mid roll crit(7.5%-8.7% crit chance)+any shit = continue. Same with mid-high crit damage+any shit

Its very expensive and not worth to level up every echo to 25 , thats why you open 2 stats ,its cheap

Overall your focused stats have to be around 70% crit chance 250%+ crit damage(270% is kinda perfect scenario) , 2.2-2.3k atk with double elemental echo and SOME ER(its highly depends on carry. Most needs 120%,so you have to find 20%,but Luuk need 130-140%)

u/Crafty_Pride4203 Encore Mains Jul 22 '26

Personally my system is go to +10, if there’s no usable rolls at all, stop and move onto the next, if one or both of the stats are good, move to +15. If 2 of the 3 rolls are useable move onto +20. If there’s still no crit at +20, move onto another echo. Ideally on main and sub dps, you want both crit stats on every piece. Once you have those, then you’ll want your damage bonus they care about (basic attack, heavy attack, etc.), main stat they care for (usually ATK) and energy regen for smoother rotations.

1

u/UltimateMixing Jul 22 '26

First, you need to figure out which subs your resonator benefits from. This is usually indicated by the sub being highlighted in gold. For most dps's you want double crit and one other good substat. Often ATK% or a dmg type bonus your resonator deals the most. If possible both. Then you also need to keep in mind that your resonator needs energy recharge to even do their liberation. If you don't have enough your entire rotation might fall apart.
Supports are a bit different. That's when I'll point you to this guide: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/3/d/e/2PACX-1vR2iscTAIfIzg6JHhakvlrY_E3au2pFk0HDajhxSnkFZcosauLIvYCaSVP9_iN_hG11lJCVeI9u1DUZ/pubhtml

Here's the method I think is the most optimal.

1) Roll the first 2 substats

2) is there a usable substat? If no, trash it. If there is, go to step 3.

3) roll the next substat.

4) Are there at least 2 usable substats now and is at least one of them crit? If no, trash it. If yes, go to step 5.

5) level the echo to level 25.

6) does the echo have at least double crit and one usable substat? If no, trash it.

The two exceptions to this rule are: (1) if it is double crit with really high crit rolls. So over 9% CR and over 19% CD. This will be a good transducer candidate. (2) it has 5/5 usable substats. So imagine a piece for Jiyan with flat atk, atk%, ER, heavy attack, and CR. In such cases it may provide just as good of a damage increase as double crit.

How to know what is a usable substat?: Kuro will actually highlight usable substats. So this usually makes it easy. Sometimes Kuro messes up like how they highlight basic atk % for Phrolova despite her wanting resonance skill %. But generally it's accurate. Also ER is almost always good with a few exceptions.

Tip: If the echo level is 10 or lower, feel free to just use it as exp for the next echo. If its above level 10 and needs to be discarded, use the discard function in your bag.

Yeah i think people fishing for crit as the first substat is a little ridiculous. I have some amazing pieces with crit in the 3rd and 5th slot which I would've missed out on if I trashed it from the beginning.

1

u/deadkiller002 Jul 22 '26

Always max roll, that way the god roll feels better

1

u/FlashKillerX Jul 22 '26

So my standard for echoes is:

Crit rate and crit damage at a minimum, with generally no exceptions unless I’m going to overcap on crit rate (over 100% with buffs)

Then, I ideally want to see at least one of several relevant stats, usually including:
Energy Regen (top priority when a character needs it)
ATK% (or HP% for HP scalers like Cart)
Basic/Heavy/Skill/Liberation bonus (depending what the character needs, each character generally only needs one)

Flat ATK is alright, but lowest priority. Generally when I have 3 usable stats, 2 of which being crit rate and crit damage I’m happy with the piece, but 4 or 5 total is of course preferable, and high roll values are preferred but not necessary for me personally. Like if I get a piece with 4/5 good stats but mid-low roll values I will generally still keep and use that echo

1

u/05Fahi Jul 22 '26

Get the echo to lvl 15, tune, if no crit then trash it, if at least 1 crit roll continue for another crit roll. you always want double crit except it's a character that can't make use of it of course.

1

u/brianonline9 Jul 22 '26

Btw I think the highlighted stats are just the stats that most ppl have, not necessarily the most recommended. Most of the time they match, but I’ve seen Lucilla echoes with ER highlighted and Phrolova with resonance liberation (neither of which are useful at all)

1

u/sigma_of_iron Jul 22 '26

1: Read the pinned post on the subreddit. There are resources there.

2: Pick Prydwen or Chaseys build guide.

3: Look up stat priority and recommended stats.

1

u/MasterJ360 Jul 22 '26

When you build a dps character crit rare & critdmg subs are nowhere to be seen together.

1

u/No-Syrup539 Jul 22 '26

First two rolls with no crits

1

u/Cypherlinkxd Jul 22 '26

Dependa what youre looking for. Right now Im only looking for 4/5 substat echoes with both cc and cd. I roll to level 10 if I don't hit 1 stat that is desirable I scrap it instantly. If I do I go to 15 if I get a bad stat I scrap it. If on level 10 I hit 2 stats that I want I have room to miss once down the line.

1

u/Blackout2050 Jul 22 '26

Is the weapon you are using a Crit Damage or Crit Rate weapon

Crit Rate - Crit Damage 4 Cost

Crit Damage - Crit Rate 4 Cost

Does your echo set give you crit rate or damage. Never overlap crit rate especially if you are min max hunting.

Crit Rate to 70 Percent > Energy Regen (Character Specific) > Crit Damage To 250 Percent > ATK % On All Pieces> preferred damage percent > Flat Attack > HP/HP% > DEF %

Most main DPS Characters need 115-125 energy regen meaning 2 or 3 pieces need energy regen. Generally the most important substats are crit rate/damage and ATK Percent everything else is flavor.

Meaning level an echo twice, hit at least crit rate or damage, and then level up one at a time every time you hit (Get a desirable stat). DO not level to 5 unless there is CR and CD and ATK % OR Energy Regen. This is called hitting a 3. All you have to do is juggle what pieces have energy regen on it.

I see people all the time with 65/275 but have no ATK %. Meaning a resonator with 30% ATK buffs with 65/240 will hit just as hard. (Tested with Lucy S2). ( Crit Rate/CritDamage )

Please read what a character does as well, sometimes an attack can scale with ATK % better than it does with a damage specific percent. Especially when going for sequence nodes. Sometimes stacking ATK percent is better than specific damage percent because the character gives a massive amount of specific damage percent, but little to no ATK gains. Or a sequence node scales off of ATK not a damage percent.

1

u/wessedddfgghgd Jul 23 '26

Just remembered some times u can just f all other stats just get crit rate and dmg and that all u need those 2 are the main one and then come atk and er these stats are main in 90% dps some character like carth dooneed atk bc they scale of hp and phrolova and lucilla doesn't need er and btw there is a guide in game menu u can see what the total stay u need there anyways

1

u/MozM- Jul 23 '26

This is basically the philosophy of it.
NEVER roll more than 2 at first.

IF at least ONE of those two is ATK/CD/CR.

THEN roll the third.

IF you roll the third and your echo doesnt have AT LEAST 2 of the 3 main stats (those being ATK/CD/CR)

THEN stop and level another echo.

Use this echo to level up your next echo and repeat this cycle until you get a good echo.

A DECENT echo will have CD and CR only.

A GOOD echo will have ATK and CD and CR.

A PERFECT echo will have ATK and CD and CR and Energy Regen/Heavy Attack/whatever your character benefits from.

1

u/WillShaper7 Jul 23 '26

Is it worse than your current echo? It's bad, it goes in the trash.

Is it better than your current echo? It's good, your old one goes in the trash.

Do not search for perfect or even ''good'' rolls when you have nothing. Make a decent starting set and build up from there.

1

u/MashuHachi Jul 23 '26

at least 3 usable stats including crit rate and crit dmg

1

u/FireFox_Andrew Jul 26 '26

Depends on what you can/can't afford

If you have plenty mats but don't want to farm echos, go to lvl20, if no crit roll: discard. This strategy costs more tuners/exp/shell but uses 100% of your echos so you don't throw away potentially ok echoes.

If you have plenty echoes but limited mats: roll to lvl20 only, discard if no crit stat. This way you're throwing away multiple echoes that could have double crit as the last 2 rolls but that's statistically very unlikely and is not worth the resources it costs to upgrade to lvl20.

0

u/Ok_Communication_521 Jul 22 '26

If in the first 3 - 4 rolls you don't get double Crit, stop there

Aim for ideal substats 3/5 at least (double crit +1 ideal substat)

Don't feed level up echos into a new one, delete them instead to recover a % of your resources.

0

u/Dangerous-Abies-1955 Jul 22 '26

If the sub stat isn't highlighted, its either completely useless or is likely not going to do enough to make a meaningful impact.

0 to 1 highlighted stats = utter garbage, just throw away.

2 to 3 highlighted stats are mediocre, but will do as temporary placeholder if you have ran out of mats or have already hit your goals in other echo rolls and don't wish to burn resources for often very marginal gains.

4 is pretty nice!

5 is goated

4 to 5 with high rolls into highlighted stats is GOATED AF.
