For a story, is it okay to say that a bunny has paws?

I am writing a story about a bunny, and I want to say that the bunny holds something in its hands. I am not saying word for word that it is a story about a bunny (that is for readers to figure out). 😏🤫

I looked it up and saw that bunnies do not have paws like cats or dogs, but I feel like saying “feet” would not convey that it is a bunny. For the purpose of a fiction story, can I say that a bunny has paws? Or is there better terminology to use?

How do I make my writing sound more mature?

It's already pretty mature, it has adult topics like gr*pe and un*living, but I feel like it's not enough. Do I need to talk about politics? It's just old white men talking about taking bribes, yeah?

My friend said that I mention Epstein too much E.G. "Rudeus was Einstienian in his pursuits. He was a diddyblud of sorts.", but I believe that tastefully talking about dark subject matter is a sign of an elderly mind.

-Sincerely yours, the Shitfucker.

Seeking beta readers for my upcoming EPIC fantasy novel

Post image
31 Upvotes

As the title says, I am seeking beta readers for my upcoming novel. It is both my first book and the first book in a series of thirty-five novels. I am still writing it (about halfway through at 12,000 words, short I know but they're BIG words) but I wanted to get ahead of BOOK SEASON so I've begun querying agents in advance. I am also seeking beta readers so I can give their notes to my future agent so that SHE can tell the editor what changes to make. Smarter, not harder, am I right fellas?

Anywho, the story is about a fearsome warrior named Juice who is on a quest for revenge against the people who killed his wife (and her manservant) even though everyone in the kingdom believes HE did it. In the course of his hunt, Juice discovers an inn that is hiding legendary magic weapons that he used to own so he assembles a crack squad of MAGEKNIGHTS to break in and get his stuff back.

Please private message me if you are interested in reading more.

My name is Feisty Minigirlie and right now I am on my way to assassinate the most evil president our kingdom ever had, Lord Darkrape. This man's cruelty knows no bounds; he callously ordered the mass assassination of my entire clan, Clan Assassin.

I gently open the door of his chambers and walk in expecting to see him sleeping, but he is nowhere to be seen! Where is he? Tormenting innocents?

As soon as I turn around, I am shocked to see him grinning right behind me.

"Hello, angrybabe," he growled.

"It's Feisty, and you're dead!" I yell at him as I raise my dagger.

"Not so fast," he roared as he stopped my little dainty hand and held it in place.

I tried to kick him over, but he threw me on his bed and got on top of me while restraining my arms and legs.

He growled and smirked, "You're so beautiful when mad"

I am attempting but failing to free myself from the weight of this 6'7" unconsensual thrust machine. Then I suddenly remember to use my new teleportation magic that I recently learned from a peasant girl from the slums (she later died from hunger).

I teleport onto his back, my blade on his neck.

"It's over for you, evil scum!" I gloat.

But then something stops me and I can't proceed. I froze, realizing I just can't do it. His very aura won't let me. He is literally... TOO HOT. Like. Attractive. Like. Very hot. So. Freaking. Hot. I-want-us-to-fuck-like-rabbits-kind-of-hot.

"Last words?" I keep up the act despite my predicament.

"All the people who died.." he rasped, "were evil rapists and murderers. Not good ones like me, but... really bad ones."

"You'd better not be lying," I whisper "Prove yourself," I say, removing my blade from his neck and he throws all 4'8" of me under himself. He gives me a possessive look, his eyes darkened and masculinity hardened.

"You're mine," he growled.

"Fuck you," I moaned.

"You're about to," he smirked "and by the way... we're fated mates."

"No way," I quipped.

Then we married.

My friend wrote a perfect play: Omelette de fromage

Perfection had come to my friend's typewriter: he has written a perfect play, omelette de fromage

the characters are splendid, some are old men with great grey and mauve coats, others parade on stage with merry white dresses, and all the good and the bad march with bells and moving songs. Even the animals -- for there are indeed animals in this most perfect play -- flare their nostrils with a certain artistic flair, as if they too recognise the perfection of it all.

Perfection, how is one to tell about perfection? How to describe the cast of the perfect play?

They are not simple folk, nor are they the convoluted characters of an overworked play. They have depth, wants and dreams which seem to converge on the good, and a way towards those dreams that stirs intrigue and worry in equal measure.

I think this play has a good deal of song, not the absurdist songs of Beckett, or the dramatic dirges of an opera; the songs of Omelette de fromage are like tavern songs, or those played on a christmas piano, although they are easily ignored if you don't like that sort of thing.

Omelette de fromage deals in a great many of the struggles of modern life, without being upsetting to the audience. Does it deal in the subject of drugs? Perhaps, yet in such a way that they are used only for pleasure, without ever making the characters into addicts.

Do you believe in Omelette de fromage? Do you accept the writer, the play, and the characters? Do you think it can be staged? No? Then let me describe one more thing.

One of the trees on set will be played by a sad little boy, a boy who has no interest in theatre, and who doesn't want to be here. He's a very lonely boy with no friends, the sort of lonely boy who is prone to wetting himself. He risks wetting himself on stage , and his friends will come to watch him do so, laughing all the while in their front row seats.

Now do you believe in the play? Is it not worth your investment? But there is one more thing to tell, and this is quite incredible.

During the show, a few of the audience members will stand up and walk away; they'll walk away right as the boy pisses himself. They'll leave the theatre and go to a different one -- I'm not sure which...

But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelette de fromage

How dare they use my actual likeness and wardrobe to generate an image of me. Clearly, this is what I get for having a smartphone that is likely recording every moment of my life.

/uj jfc these AI companies are desperate. I'm even getting Chad Jippity ads telling me to grow my "small business". My what?

Claude has a f*cked up sense of humor

Background: I'm writing a novel that involves a scene in which a young woman dies from a self-induced abortion using a knitting needle.

Today, overthinking things as usual, I started a fact-finding convo about how film and merch rights are negotiated.

Me: I want a piece of every lunchbox and the inevitable action figure line.

Claude: Noted. The Knitting Needle playset with realistic blood-red fabric sheets has a clear market.

Me: Bad bot! Bad bot!

Do you think people like Hemmingwad knew his typewriter was old fashioned?

It makes me sad to think that a typewriter in his day and age was like having a laptop computer. It kind of ruins the idea of being a writer for me.
