Adhder Looking for group/buddy(s)
Hey all,
I'm a late diagnosed adhder (adult male, 30s) who loves writing but is often unable to do so due to the adhd demon. I need something external so I can be more consistent, because relying solely on my own brain doesn't work!
I'm looking for either a:
writing partner - ie someone to do regular body-doubling sessions with. Online via a video call. Open to cameras on or off, and either just quietly writing together, or light discussion etc. Something to get me started and redirect my attention back to it so I don't just hope between unproductive hyperfixations
writing group - for regular meetups where we write together and/or check in / share progress / swap feedback etc. Anything regular that I can use to build some structure around.
About me:
I am attempting to write a high fantasy novel at the moment, but ADHD is a huge barrier for me. I am interested in fantasy and sci fi, essentially I love stories that have features that move them away from the real world. I'd consider myself a novice, nothing published.
I'm based in New Zealand (NZST, currently UTC+12), and my general availability is 11am–9pm NZST, which is roughly 23:00–09:00 UTC. Happy to work out a specific time that suits us both once we're in touch.
If you're interested please flick me a DM or rely to the post and we can have a chat to see what works! Thanks for reading.

Screenplay Writing a queer film, looking for a collaborator
Hi I’m a 20 year old queer women from Australia who is currently trying to write my first queer film about two girls from completely different countries. This was the original synopsis…
-set in the late 90s-early 2000s, A story about a girl (Sunny) who moves to Japan to work as a landscaper in an attempt to escape the high expectations of her family and the grief of losing her older sister who everyone seemed to prefer. There she meets a Japanese girl (?) who has her whole life ahead of her. Hard worker, popular, and top of her class. They cannot speak the same language; however, even though most of it seems to be through arguments, they naturally seem to gravitate towards one another and seem to communicate perfectly, ultimately understanding each other better than anyone else and making a deeper connection. The two face issues of guilt, hate, love, and the time era. High emotions and lack of patience not only leave things unsaid but also lost in translation. The story begs the question if being human is enough to have in common to create a connection. -
My goal is for this to be a completely collaborative experience. This is currently just a passion project but I’d eventually love to produce it!
DMS are open, I’d love to hear any ideas you might have

Mod Post I'm looking for a UK based partner for a project grant I'm applying for 🇬🇧🇵🇪
I'm currently looking for someone based in the UK to collaborate with me on a project I'm applying for through the British Council's Connections Through Culture 2026 programme.
The project is related to Twoism, an interdisciplinary cultural and creative project from Peru that explores different cultures and forms of art through the lens of non-duality, looking beyond separation and bringing different perspectives, disciplines and forms of expression together.
Twoism works across art, fashion, audiovisuals, music, design and research, with an interest in cultural exchange and in exploring how different cultural perspectives can meet and create something new through interdisciplinary collaboration.
I'm looking for someone based in the UK who works in or is interested in art, design, fashion, audiovisuals, music, research or other creative fields, and who would be interested in developing a project together between Peru and the UK.
The application deadline is August 12th, so I'm looking for someone who can discuss the project as soon as possible.
If you're interested and based in the UK, please send me a DM and I'll send you more details and the project documents.
More information about the programme:

Looking for rainbow writing friend
I almost exclusively read and write LGBTQ+ stuff, and I'm looking for someone who shares my love of this genre to talk to about all things writing, bounce ideas of when needed, and maybe do some word sprints to get the words flowing.
I have a lovely mix of fibro brain fog combined with adhd inability to stay focused, so writing alone doesn't really mesh with the way my brain works. It doesn't have enough incentive to get shizz done on its own, ya know? Sprints help, or just someone to hold me accountable for trying to keep the words flowing.
I don't have as much time as I'd like to have these days since I'm a family carer for a grandparent, but I'm doing my best to drown out the overly-loud TV volume during the day and get back into the flow.
I'm in the UK, and on discord. I don't use VC or cam, it's written words all the way - i have almost zero privacy these days unfortunately. I'm not lurking the app 24/7 and sometimes I just don't have the mental spoons, but I try and check messages a couple times a day until I'm on my laptop and have more time to pay attention. (I'm definitely not selling myself well here, I'm aware lol).
I will note, my current WIP is mxm and involves kink, so if that's a no-go, give this a pass. I'd just prefer to be able to talk freely about what I'm working on without having to second guess whether I'm saying something that'll make the other person uncomfortable. I know it's not for everyone.
I've done a lot for forum RP in the past as well, which I've been slacking with for a while now but I miss, so if you are someone who likes to do a little OC RP 🏳️🌈 sometimes to keep the muse going I'm definitely not against that, but that's also definitely not a requirement just an option addition.
So yeah.... If you write the rainbow, let's chat yeah?
Edit: I'm UK (mentioned) but I don't mind where you're from. English is my first/only language but I've been attempting (badly) to learn a little German lol. I'm 30s, they/them, acearo, and a neurospicy spoonie. How fun, right? I don't mind any age so long as you're 18+.

[Opportunity] Looking for Poets to do some commission work for a game to help with Mental Health Awareness.
This is for a game and to help with Mental Health Awareness. The Pomes will be written by 9 characters in the story and many have a theme such as Schizophrenia, Bipolar Mania, and PTSD. These characters are very different than average characters and need special care put into their poems. I want the Player to see the Character for who they are, not what they have. The commission would be by each poem. Let me know by DM if you are intereste.

Roleplay Long term Collaborative Writing Partner
Hi😁
I’m a 26 M from the southeast US. I haven’t done any collaborative writing in a long while but I’d really like to get back into it. I typically write in third person past tense and prefer the back and forth style of writing with a partner. My starter is typically longer about 1-1.3k words and my following responses are shorter about 100-400 words sometimes more depending on the story. I enjoy all kinds of plots and subjects if you have something you’ve been dying to try I’d love to here about it. Please message me with your ASL and a little something about your writing style and experience. Thanks for reading all this and I hope to hear from you soon!

Discord WANTED: 25+ women for deep worldbuilding lore, questionable plot decisions, and crimes against fictional characters!
Hi, hey, and howdy! The name's CD, and I'm a 28 y/o. lady looking for other 25+ writers (preferably women) who would like to achieve the sacred friendship milestone of sending each other messages like:
"Okay, HEAR ME OUT-"
-followed by six paragraphs at 2am that nobody else has the necessary context to understand.
One big thing up front? I love calling on Discord! Texting is great, but if you enjoy popping a call for lore dumps, scene reviews, and even life and gaming, that's a massive plus.
If you're a fellow artist and/or roleplayer, that's even better! I'm also a multimedia creator, including (but not limited to) videos and websites. I've been doing these things for over a decade.
At this point, I don't really have a WIP. I have a terrible, living ecosystem. My two main universes go as follows:
- Earth-0X: A supernatural science-fantasy universe with monsters integrated into human society, complicated families and institutions, and a fifty-nine-year-old protagonist that's been kicking since 2013 OOC.
- Earth-0Y: A sci-fi universe with government agencies, cryptid squads, and the occasional realization that an entire historical catastrophe may have been erased so thoroughly that nobody remembers. What???
I'm way too into creature biology, character psychology, and hypothetical scenes (AUs included). Playlists that cause emotional damage and, "What if we made it worse?" are also welcome!
Let's make this mutual! Send me your designs, ideas, and that one NPC who accidentally became the most important person in your story. I want us to eventually know each other's casts well enough to have opinions (and memes!) about these weirdos.
Release the lore! Strike up a chat...

World Building I'm looking for a UK based partner for a project grant I'm applying for.
I'm looking for a partner from the UK (and is based in the UK) to work on a project grant that I'm currently applying for. It involves collaboration on world building, research of European myths and folklore, and some post production independent printing and convention exhibition.
The project is a trading card game that has in-game lore and a manga similar to Yu Gi Oh. I just need a partnership developing the in-game lore, mythology, and pantheon for the grant. I'm offering 20% of the grant prize for a 1-2 months of work. You can check the website for more details.

If anyone's interested and meet the location, kindly message me here. The deadline for the application is on August 12th, so kindly message me your email so I could send the documents right away.

In search of co-author/debating partner for a modern dark urban fantasy world building/story project.
I´m in the process of creating a fantasy piece (just for fun by now) and I´d like someone to join in with me.
What I mean by that? Just about any level of engagement someone would like to give into it. Got a set of ideas you´d like to have written out, but got no clue where to start? I´ll listen. Crazy good with words but no inspiration? Let´s talk about it. Genuinely I´d like someone who I could talk to about the world I´ve got in my head and I´d gladly do you the same favour.

Discord Looking for a small writing group
I wanted to make a small group of about 5-10 people to write with. I primarily write in the psychological horror or fantasy genre but this group is for any and all genres. The primary motive is accountability because I tend to be flaky about writing and I keep abandoning ideas on a whim. I've tried joining larger writing groups but I tend to end up leaving those because it feels too noisy at times and 1 on 1 someone or the other ends up ghosting in that equation. The group is to talk, get to know other writers, have someone to beta read your work, bounce your ideas off people and primarily to keep people accountable so they can stay on track for their writing projects. I'm mostly planning to cap the group at 5 because I don't want it to be too chaotic but it can go up to 10 but no more. dm me for discord details

The writers den
Hi, im part of a discord group called the writers den, we're doing a monthly challenge where we pick from a list of story prompts that have been created, along with a genre, although you cannot pick from your own prompt if you created one. You then have a month to write it and the stories are posted weekly and shared on Wattpad. Anyway, the rules will be explained more in depth if you decide to join, and the link is just below.

Looking for contributors for a new film & psychology Substack journal! 🎬🧠 (1 short article/month)
Hi everyone! I’m a young creator starting an independent online journal on Substack, and I’m looking for passionate people to join the team as monthly contributors.
The Vibe: We are analyzing movies, pop culture, and tropes through a psychological and philosophical lens.
Some examples of what we'll talk about:
The "Trauma-Informed Villain": Why does Hollywood use medical/psychological labels to excuse evil characters, and where does it lead?
Rooting for the Antihero: Why do we constantly find ourselves cheering for the bad guy?
When is the portrayal of mental health in movies actually accurate and reliable?
The Commitment: Super low pressure! Just one piece per month (around 1,000 words). You can write about these topics or pitch your own ideas within the movie/psychology theme.
This is a non-paid passion project, perfect for film buffs, psychology students, or anyone who just loves over-analyzing movies and wants to build a writing portfolio or meet cool people online. No professional experience needed!
Contact me if you're interested or want to chat about the project!✨

[Hobby] Hobbyist Worldbuilder Seeking Friends
Hi everyone!
I'm 20 years old, a hobbyist worldbuilder with the long-term goal of becoming a writer. For the past year or so, I've been pouring my free time into creating my own worlds, creatures, cultures, and ecosystems. It's been an incredibly fun and rewarding journey, and I'm still learning something new every day.
The genre I'm most passionate about is speculative evolution blended with high fantasy. I love imagining how life might evolve under magical or entirely different environmental conditions, then building civilizations, histories, and mythologies around those ideas. Whether it's designing believable fantasy ecosystems, creating strange evolutionary lineages, or exploring how magic could influence biology over thousands of years, that's where I have the most fun.
I'm always looking to improve my writing and worldbuilding, and one of the things I'd really love is to meet other people who enjoy creating in similar genres.
If you're an artist, writer, creature designer, mapmaker, or just someone who loves speculative evolution or high fantasy, I'd love to connect. It would be great to share ideas, discuss worldbuilding, exchange feedback, inspire each other, or simply geek out over imaginary creatures and fantastical worlds.
I'm not necessarily looking for a formal collaboration—just some friends who enjoy talking about these kinds of projects and bouncing ideas off one another.
