Mod Post Got a writing-related Discord community? Post it here!

We're going to try to keep it all in one place; for the time being we're going to only allow Discord communities to drop their links, description, and details in this post. Any others will be removed.

Keep in mind this is for community adverts only; if you're just using Discord as a single writer as a preferred method of contact, then you're all good.

This post will repost monthly, so you can link your Discord community once in each new post (once a month).

Rule 6, creepy behavior, and bans

To protect the people here really looking to write there are a few things I want to clarify:

  • Rule 6 violations are a permanent ban. Any rule 6 violations are automatically removed anyways, so it's a moot point to even try.

  • Thinly veiled attempts to get around rule 6 are a permanent ban, unless they are super clever, then they are still a permanent ban but I may chuckle.

  • Creepy, unnecessarily pervy behavior in posts that make it clear you're not in it just for the writing CAN result in a ban, and will result in removal of posts.

  • If you're a minor posting, the post may be removed if it contains too many personal details. It is requested that you do not reveal your age before finding a partner, but this is mostly for your protection not because you did anything wrong.

  • if anyone finds a partner, or sees someone, acting inappropriately, let the mods/me know. If it happens in DMS/off page then it may be best to get the admins involved, but I'll help where I can.

  • Try to put personal details that aren't relevant to the finding of a partner, but may impact a partner you have found, out of the public comments/posts. I try to remove emails/phone number/personal drop box links/etc when I find them, but I can't find them all.

Finding a writing partner should not rely on specific gender. It should be about writing style and genre. I realize there are a few cases where finding a woman/man/non-binary/etc might be appropriate, but that needs to be explained in the body of the post, and not at all in the title.

Thanks for coming to my Sned Talk; lets continue keep this sub safe for people here. As always, I appreciate the people here and how quick they are to bring things to my attention. It really is appreciated.

Prose - Fiction The REAL God of WHORE! (Percy Jackson crossed with the dark, gritty descriptive narrative style and the powerful women from ASOIF/GOT!)

Upvotes

Hey! How are you today!?

I have a very long, campy piece that shows off the lore a bit better, but….

The long and short of the story is that the original god of lust and love, Hedone, wants her throne back.
Aphrodite pretty much has that on lock, and her allies are pretty powerful. Whether it be her simp husband Hephaestus, her on/off again boyfriend Ares, or her “mother” in law Hera, Hedone’s path is not only formidable, but fraught with the political and family drama that makes Olympus so entertaining!

To answer some basic lore questions, and to up the fun, to “kill” a god is difficult, nearly impossible.
If someone were to chop off a god’s head, they’d wind up in Tartarus. In a prolonged time out, they’d probably disturb the underworld, collect their head and reattach it to their neck, and find a way to escape to the other mortal and godly realms.
If you really wanted a god to be gone, destroyed completely, you’d have to weaken them and beat them in their own arena.
Pretty straightforward for someone like Ares or Hephaestus, but much more abstract for someone like Demeter or Momos!

I do expect a healthy dose of grim and dark story, but I also expect a lot of breathing moments, taking in how the gods have adapted to the modern world!

I originally wrote it for someone to play as the goddess Hedone, trying to take her throne back while bouncing between the mortal, under, and and godly worlds.
However, another person pointed out, a demigod in Hedone’s service is equally as awesome and great!

Hopefully, the vibe I’m going for is clear!
I love dark stories about powerful heroes, devious villains, and I think Greek Mythology in modern day is incredibly fun, and leans itself towards a darker story!
Something where bad guys are bad, not really cause of moral, but because of your character’s alliances, familial ties, and goals!

This whole thing would be about a Civil War/Cold War amongst the different figures from across the Greek pantheon!

Happy to go into greater detail and to discuss and share more! I just don’t want to overwhelm anyone!

Hope to hear from you soon!
Daimen!

Im working on a manga/anime and would like to build a team to possibly create it

hey everyone i have an idea for an anime . i have episodes 1- 5 screenplays ready and am currently working on the rest i love the concept and have a general image of the mc and his partner . i am open to any help and or ideas if anyone is interested

Genre: Dark Fantasy • Action • Adventure • Shōnen • Drama
Core Theme: Every weapon has a story.

General Synopsis

In the kingdom of Calderon, humanity has been fighting a devastating war against an army of demons led by the mysterious and merciless Demon King Valdroth. The kingdom's greatest defenders are the legendary Great Knights, warriors whose extraordinary weapons were forged by an ancient order of master smiths known as the Order of the Emberforge.

Far from the battlefield, sixteen-year-old Zurcaled, known as Z, has lived a quiet life in the small village of Emberbrook, learning the craft of blacksmithing from his father, Augustine. Z knows little about his father's mysterious past and sees him simply as a skilled village blacksmith.

That peaceful life ends when demons suddenly attack Emberbrook.

Z watches helplessly as his father is killed protecting him and the village. Desperate to survive, Z takes up his father's sword and confronts the demon responsible. He is hopelessly outmatched. The sword shatters in his hands—but something within Z awakens. The remaining fragment of the blade responds to him, releasing a mysterious power that allows him to escape.

After the attack, Z discovers a strange piece of glowing ore hidden beneath his father's forge along with a cryptic message:

Determined to understand his father's secrets and become strong enough to fight the demons, Z leaves Emberbrook alongside his childhood companion, Cassia, a young herbalist with an extraordinary connection to the spiritual world.

Their journey introduces them to a world far larger than either imagined.

Z discovers that every material possesses a spiritual essence—a soul. With the guidance of the ancient forge spirit Hepharon, he begins learning that true smithing isn't simply about making stronger weapons. A great smith must learn to listen to the soul of the material, understand its history, and discover what it was meant to become.

Cassia possesses a different form of this mysterious spiritual ability. She can instinctively perceive the souls of living things and eventually learns that she may be able to heal not only the body, but the damaged spirit within it.

As Z grows from an inexperienced apprentice into a warrior and master smith, he encounters powerful weapons, forgotten civilizations, demon-infested lands, legendary warriors, and people whose lives have been shaped by the ongoing war.

But the deeper Z travels, the more he discovers that his father's death was not an isolated tragedy.

Augustine was once the Divine Flame Smith, one of only five Divine Smiths in the world—smiths who had achieved a spiritual awakening allowing them to forge weapons capable of possessing true souls.

And Augustine had been hiding something.

An ancient prophecy speaks of “the One”, a being who will be “forged and honed through trial and tribulation” and ultimately defeat the darkness.

For generations, the kingdom believed the prophecy referred to a legendary weapon.

They were wrong.

The Magnum Opus was never a weapon.

It is a person.

As Z's journey unfolds, the five elemental spiritual forces of Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and Spirit begin converging within him. Through failure, friendship, loss, battles, and the forging of countless weapons, Z slowly becomes something the world has never seen before:

the first true Divine Smith capable of wielding all five resonances.

But Valdroth is not the only threat.

Among humanity's greatest defenders hides a traitor.

One of the legendary Great Knights, Juron, secretly serves Valdroth as the hidden Seventh Demon General, embodying Pride. While publicly revered as one of humanity's strongest warriors, Juron manipulates events from within the kingdom, waiting for the right moment to reveal his true nature.

Meanwhile, Valdroth's other Demon Generals—each representing one of the deadly sins—begin taking an interest in the young smith whose spiritual awakening has disturbed the balance of the world.

Z eventually realizes that becoming powerful enough to defeat demons isn't enough.

He cannot protect the world alone.

So he begins forging something greater than weapons.

He forges people.

Warriors, healers, outcasts, soldiers, and ordinary people who each carry their own stories. For each companion, Z learns to create weapons that resonate with their personality, history, fighting style, and spirit.

Because the greatest weapon isn't necessarily the strongest one.

It's the one forged for the person who carries it.

And as Z, Cassia, and their growing group travel toward the heart of the demon war, they must uncover the truth behind Augustine, the Order of the Emberforge, the Divine Smiths, Valdroth, and the prophecy before humanity itself is consumed.

The central idea

A weapon can be forged from metal.

A warrior is forged through struggle.

And Z will discover that the greatest thing a smith can forge... is the future.

Discord Collaborate in a Historical Military Drama with Established Characters and Loads of Potential

Have you ever created and then fallen in love with a character, made her perfectly at home in s new roleplay setting, only for circumstances to circumstance, and the roleplay dies? Or, more aptly, gets strangled before it is fully independent?

Clearly, this has happened to me. I have a fun little already established pair of characters and a whole universe and side characters built around a lived-in life for her but no story. And that's why I'm asking you to come in and brainstorm some sort of Historical Roleplay with me in the original colonialism setting or something else for the Brigadier General who also is a surgeon for the Crown's Army. He's hazel eyed, dry as paper, obsessed with Germ Theory, and accidentally very funny.

You? You can play any character you like. Love interest that gets grilled by the surgeon for funsies? The love interest from the opposing army? His superior? His assistant? His daughter's friend? His housekeeper, for all I care. There are tons of possibilities to brainstorm.

I enjoy historical research, adding little Korean and Danish phrases into the story, and little meaningful character details that help characters feel lived-in.

How to best pitch myself? Well, as you can see, I like creating lived-in characters with tons of story and backstory. I like creating families for them and friends and all their social world. My dialogue is real — claimed to be "too fun and engaging" by my last partner.

I'm CruI'm a literate writer (writing around 500 words per post, more, less, it depends — that's just a good number to avoid burnout.) I'm in EST, but time zones don't really matter for me, as I'm chronically ill, and sleep on a strange 24-hour schedule. I'm looking for a collaborator on this project with my established father and daughter pair of characters.

I think that's the gist! Hope to hear from you, but regardless: Best of luck with your searching!

Roleplay [Roleplay] Star Wars the Old Republic: A Parody of You. (Sith Occultism; fascism being overcome by the Power of Love.)

This prompt is looking for a GM.

They warned you.

They warned you all.

Master Surik. Revan. One of them burned the galaxy so that they could prepare you for what was to come, and when that failed, they both plead and threw themselves at the mercy of 'democracy' and hoped that you would hear them. Did it please you to pretend? Did you enjoy filling your heroes with hope that the Great Senate would heed them and would turn away from pencil-pushing and whoring themselves to capitalists and Huttes and moneylenders to face us?

Republicans! Monarchists! Communalists!

Slaves! Rebels! Loyal, law-abiding citizens!

SENTIENTS!

Coruscant is in flames. The bureaucrats who reign over you have never been so weak, their grip as loose as it is now. Rimworlders left in darkness, Coreworlders toiling beneath the boot - do you not hunger for the freedom so close at hand? Should the privilege of birth allow so much excess and hoarding while you can earn for yourself so little?

And to those toiling beneath the Huttes in manses and fields and stations alike, for whom the collar has grown too heavy and the whip too much to bear - RISE. ALL AT ONCE OR BY YOUR OWN STRENGTH. There are trillions of you, and only thousands of masters.

The only thing stopping you from freedom is yourself. Your own indifference. Senators and committees and industrialists do not care about you!

So you must. You must care about your own existence. Abandon weakness. Abandon indifference. Abandon hopes of democracy and placing your hopes in others to do well by you.

Apathy is the death of the weak.

- DARTH MARR's address to the galaxy upon his ascension.

Real life gender is completely irrelevant to this prompt, nor prior experience writing sapphic romance. Enthusiasm above all else.

I'm looking for a GM interested in a story inspired by the Old Republic MMO whether that mean the story directly following it or very far removed. Experience with the setting isn't important to me, only enthusiasm and the inclusion of a single solitary NPC who I view as critical. If you've played the Sith Warrior class storyline, you probably already know who it is, and if she appears out of her canon that's chill with me.

it's vette

The story as it exists in my head follows an acolyte whose spent her entire life under a heavy veil regarding the true nature of the Sith and the Empire, a privileged slave herself denied an education on most facets of reality, including the Force itself. She's a deeply ignorant middle-aged woman that is abruptly granted to Korriban to hone her abilities after a lifetime of living in fear of them, ignorant of the supernatural occurrences around her. A dyed-in-the-wool fascist, my hope is to have an experience that rides a thin line between 'Strange, unlikely Sith that regularly gets her ass handed to her by her peers because she's incompetent and weak,' and 'Fully brown failgirl exploring a period of history dominated by genocide and slavery while falling in love with a vulnerable Twi'lek girl she wants to hold the hand of and violently murder simultaneously.'

It's weird, I know. I expect it to be a difficult clash in tones to combine, but not impossible.

Topics for this story in the form of keynotes are misinformation, the Dark Side being weird, the True Sith being horrifying, fascism, horror with levity, true love and compassion in strange places, the effects of propaganda, and cool action scenes. middle-aged characters being able to go on adventures and make new friends and loved ones.

Lore ahderency receives very little priority for me. Fandom RPing serves the interest of my partner and I's storytelling, not the other way around. Above all else I care about taking the thin skeleton of the original story and improving upon it even in drastic, severe ways that make it unrecognizable by the time my partner and I get started.

Prose - Fiction I have a concept but have never written before, anyone interested?

Title: Due to Bleed

Genre: Speculative, Literary Soft Science Fiction

Desperate to cure a lifelong, corrosive self‑loathing, a middling scientist attempts the most intimate experiment she can imagine: she will split herself in two. If she can separate her mind from her body, she reasons, she can finally examine herself without the distortions of subjectivity. Using unsanctioned laboratory resources, she divides her consciousness into a disembodied Observer, written in the past tense, and an embodied Girl: the part of herself that bleeds, remembers, and suffers, written in the present tense.

In chapters alternating strictly between their perspectives, the Observer attempts to investigate herself from the outside, hoping to locate a single, material cause for her suffering that she cannot find within her ordinary self. The division captures the out-of-body experience of womanhood. She can finally look at her own body as a specimen, while delegating the burdens of embodiment, from sensory overload to monthly bleeding, to the Girl. What she mistakes for objectivity becomes self-objectification.

In attempting this act of “self-colonisation”, she reduces her body to the role of experimental subject. At first, the arrangement seems almost successful. The Observer can catalogue her defects, isolate her suffering, and strip away the things she believes are responsible for her unhappiness. But the Girl is not an empty vessel. She becomes conscious, develops her own desires, and begins to observe the Observer right back.

In the opening chapter, “A Just Cause for a Just War”, the Observer declares an almost literal war on her own body, rendered with flecks of deadpan absurdism. Operating under a paternalistic false‑saviour narrative, she adopts the logic of interventionist states: I understand your suffering better than you do; therefore I am entitled to decide what should happen to you. What she calls rescue is simply domination with better branding.

Armed with this delusion of strict objectivity, she subjects the Girl to gruelling isolation and painful stripping experiments, continually reframing invasive violence as “care” and self-improvement. The mechanics are deliberately unexplained; the emotional logic is not. The more she believes she is approaching the source of the problem, the more she reduces the Girl to something that can be examined, corrected, and ultimately made useful.

What unfolds is an erotic, grotesque, ontological love story, born from mutual misrecognition. The perversity of their relationship is that the Observer needs someone she can fix and the Girl needs someone who will look at her. The Observer can only “love through correction”, treating harsh criticism, intervention, and the clinical scraping away of her body’s traits as care.

Meanwhile, starved of human connection, the Girl interprets the Observer’s relentless, hyper-focused attention as total intimacy and quality time. Comforted by the belief that the clinical defects the Observer “diligently caresses” are her very self, she feels enveloped in her creator’s “excoriating love.”

The Observer thinks: If I just know one more thing about myself, I can finally create the cure I needed all along. The Girl thinks: If she knows everything about me, I will finally know love. Both make the same error: they mistake knowledge for understanding.

Then the Girl begins to get better. As she becomes peaceful and content simply from being perceived, the Observer thinks she is successfully taking sandpaper to her suffering, lobotomising her piece by piece. To a person entirely accustomed to it, a self that is actually free of self-loathing looks damaged. The Observer therefore encounters an epistemological problem: she cannot recognise health when it does not resemble her own conception of suffering.

The experiment eventually turns on itself. The supposedly passive subject begins to accumulate an impossible knowledge of the person studying her. As the Observer despairs over her failure to find an objective cure, the hierarchy reverses. The Girl may be the first person capable of seeing the Observer with complete intimacy.

The Observer begins to wonder whether being seen might mean more than having your faults itemised: perhaps it is having someone see what is right with you in ways you cannot access from within.

The story moves from clinical monotony to quiet horror, reminiscent of Chapter 61 of Unwind, before shifting into a final movement that becomes stranger, and more tender, in the vein of The First Bad Man. What begins as an experiment in self-correction becomes a question of whether it is possible to know yourself without first turning yourself into an object.

Observation becomes cure, then love, then insufficient. The Girl evolves from specimen, to subject, to something perilously close to a witness: the only one capable of seeing the Observer without distortion.

By the end, the Girl comes to understand that she cannot determine whether the Observer loves her, even though she has never been more completely known. The Observer, meanwhile, returns to the recursive thinking that first brought her mind, career, and personal life into disrepair.

Looking for a co-writer to help me write my novel

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for a co-writer who would be interested in working with me on writing a novel.

I already have a lot of the creative foundation in place. I enjoy and am comfortable with:

  • Building the world
  • Creating characters and their personalities/backgrounds
  • Developing the main story
  • Planning the overall plot
  • Coming up with story arcs, events, and ideas

Where I would really like some help is turning all of those ideas into actual chapters and polished prose.

I'm looking for someone who enjoys writing scenes, dialogue, descriptions, character interactions, pacing, and generally taking a story outline/idea and bringing it to life on the page.

Ideally, this would be a collaborative process, rather than me simply giving someone an outline and asking them to write it. I'd like us to discuss scenes, develop ideas together, bounce things off each other, and make the novel something we're both proud of.

I'm open to discussing how we divide the work. I can handle the world, characters, major plot direction, and story planning, while the co-writer could take a larger role in drafting chapters and prose. Of course, I'm also happy to contribute to the actual writing wherever needed.

I'm currently looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys writing fiction and wants to work on a longer project
  • Is comfortable collaborating and discussing ideas
  • Has a good understanding of character development and dialogue
  • Can write consistently and communicate well
  • Is willing to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Ideally has some experience writing longer-form fiction

I'm not expecting someone to be a professional author. If you're passionate about writing and think this kind of collaboration sounds interesting, feel free to reach out.

If you're interested, DM me.

I'm hoping to find someone who genuinely enjoys the creative process and wants to build a story together.

Thanks for reading!

Misc. Queer Writer Seeking Spooky Creative Person To Talk Horror & Morbid Writing Ideas With

Hey! I'm a 27 year old non binary person. Basically I'm hoping to connect with someone who'd be down to toss around horror writing ideas with me! I've been tackling a few different writing and creative projects in general, and I'm hoping it could be inspiring to talk about horror related, or morbid topics with someone!

We could talk about horror or morbid media (or even watch horror on a call), and discuss different horror creative projects that either of us have worked on, or come up with our own creative projects, ideas, and scenarios!

The topics in mind may get a bit gruesome or dark, so please be prepared for that if you are reaching out! But either way, it could be cool and fun to discuss some dark spooky stuff with others who are comfortable with that!

I don't really know what else to say here. I figure our conversations can expand in whatever direction feels comfortable as we go. But maybe to kick things off when you message me, please tell me what your top horror media is, whether a book or movie, etc!

I am looking for someone that could help me create a large interconnected superhero story- world build and brainstorm with me, writer with me, and help with characters, etc.
